I took the first of these, which I believe is the Product Manager Certificate, in July/August of 2020. The COVID-19 situation meant our class met virtually, I try to take that into account into my review. I feel like I need to separate my review into two parts, the instructor and the curriculum. First our instructor, Adithi: 5 stars, only because that's the maximum number of stars I'm allowed to give. From the beginning she has been incredibly generous with her time, knowledge, and resources. She's passionate about product management and eager to share that passion with her students. She also brought in guest speakers with extensive experience in the field, which added a lot to the conversations. I cannot recommend her highly enough. Second, the Product School curriculum: 3 stars. It ticked all the boxes for what I would expect from an introduction to product management--personas, product discovery, minimum viable products, roadmaps, etc. But it didn't seem to offer any value differentiation above reading various Product Management books, which I've done. Furthermore, the curriculum railroaded us into several pre-defined class projects. These were confusing and placed arbitrary constraints on our project development. And while I enjoyed working on this final project as a team, I also would have liked to build my own project from start to finish, for a real company of my own choosing. I believe Product School has recently overhauled its curriculum, and frankly I feel a little cheated because our group was one of the first cohorts to use this curriculum, which I don't feel is ready for prime time. I'm sure Product School will use this feedback to improve, but sadly I won't benefit from these improvements. Still, the chance to learn from Adithi and work with some amazing teammates still made the overall process worthwhile.

I can tell that Shannon is a very patient teacher and she is always full of energy. She is very…read moreunderstanding and will accommodate your schedule change at the very last minute. The sessions we had together are alway full of joy. Her rate is very reasonable and you pay after the tutor sessions. Also, she provide free evaluation session, and of course, Skype tutoring. I usually prepared the material I would like to go over and brought to her. She is totally okay with that and allowed me to focus on things that I would like to work on first.That's also the way I like, and that's why I favor a tutor than a formal ESL class. Personally, I recommend doing both in the same time. Enroll in a formal group pronunciation class and have Shannon help you to practice your weakness. I run twice a week with her in a month, and I clearly see an improvement on my speech. How can I tell it? Well, now SIRI (finally) understands me LOL. Try to pronounce "sin city" to SIRI, and if it shows "seeing city", well... it's the time to work on your pronunciation.

However, over the 4 years my kid was with him, he had only 1 recital. Ever since Covid, he completely stopped doing recitals, and stopped offering any makeups. We opted to pay extra charge to get an online makeup, he reluctantly accepted and scheduled it at a noon. It was unfortunate that my kid went to have lunch at the time and missed the alarm he set for the makeup. Since it's an online session, Michael could have easily called us, instead he just let the time pass and my kid missed the makeup. I don't mind people charging money for their time or overtime, however, I feel frustrated with a teacher that shows no empathy with his student and could not care less when his student misses a class.
