I attended MCC for their CNA Program and could not recommend it more for anyone who's considering…read moreit. Miss Didi was my instructor and was, by far, the best teacher I've ever had. She genuinely wanted every student to succeed. Each lecture, she shared insight from her professional experience, gave plenty of examples of how different scenarios would look in practice, and always welcomed discussions when something wasn't clear. During clinicals, she provided so much guidance and support, followed by thoughtful debriefs at the end of each day. She took the time to connect what we learned in theory to the real patients we worked with, which made everything make so much more sense. Miss Didi prepared me incredibly well for the state exam. I felt confident enough to take the written exam the day after graduating and the skills exam three days later, passing both with flying colors. Additionally, Mr. Dell and Dr. Marilyn were extremely supportive and checked in often to make sure we had what we needed throughout the program. I wanted to add that while MCC does not guarantee placement to a facility with their program, it is important to note that there are A LOT of opportunities for networking that Miss Didi and MCC offers. For my class, Miss Didi had several administrators and DSD's speak with us about their facilities, offering insight, applications, and contact information should you decide to apply. I just interviewed for my top choice facility and have been offered employment contingent on passed reference checks, background check and fingerprinting. I graduated from my program 8 days ago. You get what you put into the program, and being open to communication and learning will lead you to the start of a rewarding career. Overall, MCC made the whole experience feel worth it, and I feel truly set up for success moving forward.

My first Adult/Pediatric CPR AED course was at this location back in January of 2014. I believe I…read morewas in the same course as the first reviewer where the instructor was over an hour late. The environment seems questionable and the fact that roughly 10 students were waiting outside for an hour seemed even more odd. A student finally received an email for the code to enter the building and everyone seated themselves in the classroom. At 10 AM another student received an email that the instructor will be there in less than 15 minutes. Class was scheduled to begin at 9 AM. The instructor finally arrived an hour late and began passing out handbooks and setting up the classroom. 5 minutes later a student got up and hollered at the instructor that he's untrustworthy given that he arrived an hour late and should've apologized right away instead of setting up the classroom. My second course was March 2016 to renew my certification. Thankfully Janice was on time and made sure everyone knew the course agenda. She scheduled a break that would suit everyone's schedule. Overall I wouldn't recommend this location if you are being dropped off by a friend or parent. There is nothing within a reasonable walking distance if is class dismissed early. There's a Sonic, Starbucks, and McDonald's within reasonable driving distance. Plenty of time given that break is half an hour.

I came here on a Saturday morning to complete the in-class portion of the CPR/AED course. When I…read morefirst got there, I was definitely unsure where to park. I had to do a couple of loops around the building in order to find the lot. It is small and off to the left hand side if you are facing the front. The building is a bit run down and not the most aesthetically pleasing to eye but they are there as a resource so that is better than not having them at all. After parking, I had to enter from the loading dock on the back side (heads up for those interested in taking the course). I was a bit skeptical about how successful the day would be but it actually turned out great, mainly due to our instructor. Ingrid Pocock was really welcoming and patient throughout the whole class. She definitely knows what she is doing and I would highly recommend her as an instructor. She took the time to make sure that all questions were answered and that everyone could properly practice the skills for certification. She is the reason why I reviewed this place a 3/5 stars. (-2 for the building and confusion with the entrance). If this review were solely based on her skills as an instructor, I would give it a 5/5.

AVOID EMS University at All Costs This is a strong warning…read moreto anyone considering EMS University for EMT training. This school is a scam: unorganized, deceptive, and lacking customer care. After investing months of time, money, and effort, and completion of my EMT externship, they suddenly locked me out of my student portal with zero warning. They hid their policy that there is a limit to test for NREMT within 60 days, and expired my account without any email, text, phone call, or notification whatsoever. I had called customer service to schedule and confirm my externship dates, and asked if my account will still be accessible prior to the 60 day window. Customer service reassured me that there is no lock out of the portal and I will be able to access all my course materials and assignments. My college is non local and I was explained that to them when scheduling externship for the next available break. I had extenuating circumstances and was actively finishing submitting my final documents after completing a 36 hour externship, yet the school gave me no answers as to why the lockout occurred and told me tech support is working on it. After weeks of following up and being told to just wait for an update, suddenly they tell me I have to submit a grievance form with no explanation as to what happened or why. After multiple calls seeking answers with representatives, one representative finally told me the reason I'm locked out is because there is a 60 day limit from the date of the final exam to take the NREMT test, which was never mentioned the many times I called to confirm my account status and my externship dates. They told me I would have to redo the entire course for an additional fee of $150 after I already passed the final exam, submitted all my assignments, completed the externship, and was simply finishing submitting the final externship documents. Because of their negligence and poor communication, I cannot submit my final externship documents. My certification is just gone after all the effort I spent completing all the assignments and passing the final exam. So much money and time was invested all wasted due to customer services's poor management and communication. They clearly did not give me the right information when I called many times to confirm and tried to make it my fault in the end, even after relentlessly following up with dismissive responses to just wait and sarcastically thanking my "patience" when I showed I was frustrated with the response times. One time a representative told me she can't give me a time frame because I will hold her to that time frame. So we have to do everything according to their hidden timelines but they can't even tell me when my issue will be resolved? Absolutely ridiculous to give me that answer. Since they changed their website and number recently, when you try to get help, you can't even speak to a real person -- an AI answers and refuses to connect you to anyone. This is completely unacceptable. I can't even contact a representative anymore, I can't resolve my issues through AI. EMSU's whole system is predatory and nothing but a scam, they will happily take your tuition and then ghost when you try to seek answers, and still demand more money. I sent an email to the head of customer service Vicky, after they rejected my grievance 2 times for no valid reason, and she never responded; yet again avoiding taking accountability and making excuses to ignore me.If you value your time, money, or future in emergency medicine, do not enroll here. Take my experience strongly into consideration as well as the experience of the countless 1 star reviews and never give your business to this disgusting scam of an organization.

I highly HIIIIGHLY recommend BATA to anyone interested in and serious about EMS. Took an 8-week…read morecourse, and it was a blast. Scottie Johnson is a fantastic instructor. I cannot stress how chill and nice he was. The course was taking a toll on my physical and mental health, but Scottie's cheerful optimism kept me going. He truly embodies positive energy and makes lectures so much more bearable. His storytelling and advice were very eye-opening as well. I regret not approaching him for help more often. However, unsurprisingly, it's very rigorous. For anyone looking at an 8-week course, you will spend 20 hours a week: 10 hours on lectures (MW or TTh; 5 hours each) and 10 on skills (Sunday); of course, with breaks in between. Lectures will cover 6 chapters per week, and you will take lecture exams every weekend on the day of your skills instruction. You should be able to dedicate a huge amount of time to reading through the course material (at least 20 hours imo). So please reconsider your decision if you're planning to work or study full-time during the course. Otherwise, give it a shot! Be cool and professional, and most important of all, make sure you have a great time. I promise you, it'll be worth it.

The Bay Area Training Academy (BATA) in Milpitas is an outstanding place to earn your EMT…read morecertification. I just completed the 7.5-week expedited course, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience. First and foremost, know this: it's a fast-paced, demanding course, and success requires putting in the work. But if you're serious about learning, BATA provides everything you need to excel--exceptional instructors, hands-on training, and a structured approach that sets you up for real-world success. Scottie, the lead instructor, is one of the best teachers I've ever had. He's knowledgeable, engaging, and has a great balance of keeping the class fun while knowing when to get serious. He truly cares about his students and their success. BATA also brings in a fantastic team of instructors--shoutout to Kyle, Justin, Nadeline, Eric, and Tony--each of whom adds their own expertise and teaching style. With so many instructors, the course feels personal rather than overwhelming, ensuring plenty of one-on-one guidance and hands-on practice. From day one, you can tell that BATA is well-organized and genuinely committed to training top-tier EMTs. They focus on real-world scenarios and practical skills, not just textbook knowledge, which makes a huge difference when preparing for the field. For anyone considering their EMT certification--whether your goal is becoming a first responder or using it as a stepping stone for another route like medical school--you will be in great hands at BATA.
