I was suffering from a disc/nerve issue, and was able to get an appointment fairly quick…read more Office personnel were great, MA brought me back on time. Naomi Alcock was the provider. She was fantastic. Spent time with me with assessing my issue, and then spent time going over options. Would highly recommend Desert Spine, and Naomi Alcock.

Quite possibly one of the worst bait-and-switch experiences I've ever been a part of. I confirmed…read morewith the office that my procedure would be "covered," and they even framed a "test" injection as an easy next step--while admitting they weren't sure it would help--because, again, "it's covered." Afterward, my insurance paid $23. Then the clinic billed me $800. When I went back to ask them to honor what I was told--or at least work with me on price given their guidance--they refused. I asked about a self-pay option; they said no because my insurance had already paid $23. No flexibility, no ownership, no accountability. From my perspective, this is the definition of a bait-and-switch: reassure the patient about coverage to green-light the visit, deliver a token insurance payment, then dump the real cost on the patient and refuse to make it right. I left feeling misled and out hundreds of dollars for a "test" they weren't confident would help in the first place. Based on my experience, I can't recommend this practice to anyone. If you do go, get every "coverage" assurance in writing, ask for CPT codes up front, and verify directly with your insurer--because the verbal promises I received were worthless. I won't be back.

I was a patient here for a few months, just for routine care/medication prescriptions. However, a…read morelittle more than a month ago, I got sick and went to Dr. Woodham to be seen, at the time for a sore throat. My strep and flu test were negative, so she said it just seemed like a bad cold. A few days later, I had developed a severe cough. I ended up going to the urgent care to see if I could get a chest X-ray. The urgent care I went to didn't have an X-ray tech that day, so they couldn't do much for me. My cough got worse and I called Desert Life primary care, letting them know that my cough had worsened and that I felt like it was in my chest, but they didn't have me come in for an appt. The day after, I went to the urgent care again, and they determined that I had an Upper Respiratory Infection. A few days later, I schedule a Telehealth appt with Dr. Woodham because my cough wasn't improving, I couldn't sleep, and I felt pretty awful. I had pain in my chest and felt like I had strained a rib muscle from coughing. She said it was just a bad virus going around. I asked if I should be concerned about getting tested for Valley Fever or anything else, but she said I would "be a lot more sick and coughing more" if I had something like that. She did send me for a chest X-ray however because of my chest pain. Two days later, I had another Telehealth appt with her to discuss the results of my X-ray. My X-ray didn't show that there was anything in my lungs at the time, so she just told me again that it was just a bad virus and basically that I just needed to wait it out. At that point, I was barely sleeping because of the coughing. She just offered to prescribe more medicine, but I felt like she seemed impatient with me and with me continuing to be concerned that I wasn't getting better. Two days after that, I became even more ill, with nausea, fever, chills, and zero appetite...and the coughing was REALLY bad. I decided to go to another doctor because I wasn't happy with the care at Desert Life Primary Care, and I also felt like Dr. Woodham didn't care about me as a person. As soon as I went to another doctor, after listening to my lungs (which Dr. Woodham never told me I should come into her office so that she could do that..), they immediately determined that I had severe Pneumonia. They also did a blood test to determine the cause, and put me on very strong antibiotics. They said that if I hadn't gotten on antibiotics when I did, I most likely would have ended up in the hospital. Turns out, after the results of my blood test came back, I had bacterial Pneumonia, and the type I had is commonly called "Walking Pneumonia". All in all, I was very ill for a total of almost a month, and from all the severe coughing, I ended up fracturing 2 ribs and the cartilage around my sternum had damage to it. I'm currently waiting on a CT scan for that. I called Dr. Woodham's office recently to ask for the results of my initial lung X-ray and I mentioned to the woman at the front desk that I ended up having severe Pneumonia and that I went to another doctor. The front desk woman didn't even offer an apology or anything, but was super short with me and told me that everything I had access to was on the portal. During the entire time, no one in Dr. Woodham's office ever followed up on me to see if I was ok, after they didn't hear anything from me after my last Telehealth appointment. I will never be a patient there again, and I am very unhappy with how the entire ordeal played out.

However, they still charged us and refused any refund or to at least give us our first month product we rightfully paid for. There was a clear misunderstanding from their staff , yet they refused to work with us for their poor communication. Their customer service is terrible. They are greedy crooks. I would not recommend them to anyone for any reason.
