Let me start by saying that everyone at Bloom Performance and Rehab has been great. They are all super nice, and helpful, and they really take the time to listen to you. They are knowledgeable and willing to share their knowledge to whatever level you want to go to. (ie: referring to "shoulder muscles and tendons" or talking about them individually by name.) They are also supportive and want to make sure you are moving forward with the least amount of pain possible. I came to Bloom Performance and Rehab with shoulder pain that was intense. I had been dismissed from the urgent care with the Dr telling me that I had come in for "doing nothing" to my shoulder as he could "clearly see the arthritis" in the joint. He refused to order any further tests and said I'd just have to learn to live with it. He did order physical therapy - the one thing that went right at that point. I chose to come to Bloom Performance and Rehab for the physical therapy after hearing that Eric Bloom has worked with other patients with Ehlers-danlos hypermobile (a genetic disorder). I did have to wait a bit to get on their schedule, but not as long as at other clinics. The first thing Eric did was a diagnostic ultrasound of my shoulder where he found that I did have a torn rotator cuff. Exactly what I had thought. He was able to see where the damage was and design a therapy program to maximize my results. So far we have utilized exercises, massage, stretching, dry needling, along with heat and ice therapies. I have since seen an orthopedic surgeon and will be having surgery to repair the shoulder and will continue Therapy with Bloom Performance and Rehab after my surgery as well. I will also be bringing my family here for their physical therapy needs. read more

Will change your life! I'm 51 and very active (golf, weightlifting, mountain biking, running, and more), and met Eric Bloom on a golf course (he's good!), and found out he did PT in the East Valley. I figured I'd go see him to help my stubborn elbow recover from surgery for a bone spur and arthritis, along with various aches and pains from a lifetime of athletically abusing my body. Helping with my golf swing was an added benefit! I had never tried, or even heard of, dry needling before, but after Eric treated my elbow, it magically came around in a matter of weeks, after being tight and sore and painful for months post-surgery. I couldn't believe it! He then turned his attention to areas of my back, hips and legs, and the impact was similarly fantastic! I can't say enough about the procedure, and Eric's expertise in it! In addition to the dry needling, Eric and Frank have put me through and given me a variety of core and functional exercises to help with my strength and stability while playing golf, and other active movements. It is really helping me feel better overall, while greatly reducing the aches and pains associated with everything I do. I started seeing Eric almost 2 years ago due to sports related injuries. Playing college sports caused wear and tear on muscles I did not even know existed. I had been to different trainers and always found temporary relief. When I started seeing Eric my body was a total mess from back pain, ankle pain, to collarbone pain it seemed like the source of my pains were all over the place. Eric was able to identify right away the actual source of my pains even though my body had been manipulating me to believe the source was elsewhere. Eric Bloom is awesome. Thanks to him I was able to compete in an olympic distance triathlon that Ive been training all year for. About six to eight week prior to the tri, my right achilles tendon developed severe tendonitis secondary to hill workouts and increased mileage. I personally find it very difficult to rest and recover, however, his dry needling technique and therapy to my sartorius and medial gastrocnemius muscles took the strain off my achilles tendon and got me logging miles again. On race day, Eric and his friend did the race as well....We all finished and met our goals for the day. Eric is truly a steward of his profession that is well studied and knowledgeable in every aspect of his practice. I have had chronic neck, shoulder arm and hand issues for over 20+ years from working on a computer. I have tried almost everything to relieve the constant pain. I watched over time how Eric Bloom, PT helped a co-worker who used a cane be able to walk again without the cane. I was so impressed that I also went to see Eric Bloom who is the Clinic Director. He is so knowledgeable and more than just a PT. He really cares about his patients. He does something that I have never heard of before called "Dry Needling" . I found relief immediately. Dry Needling is the only procedure that has helped relieve the huge knots in my neck and the arm and hand issues. The Dry Needling does not hurt. These guys are great. Number one they are knowledgeable and up to date on all training and rehab. I visited them for getting older issues like shoulder and knee weakness. They took the time to speak at length about my issues and GOALS and put a plan specifically to address my issues that you get when you think you are 20 and you are actually 62. Most importantly they helped me to be able to exercise and continue to do hiking, search and rescue activities, triathlons and the like. They also have provided me with routines that will allow me to continue to act like I am 20. I guess that is what happens when you listen and are knowledgeable. A plus is that Eric and his staff are great people that you like being around. read more

I started seeing Eric Bloom last year because I was diagnosed with breast cancer. I had to get a double mastectomy and after my surgery I had limited mobility in my arms. Since I have been seeing Eric I have improved tremendously and almost have full range of motion. Eric is so thorough in what he does that he even helped me overcome injuries from years back whose pain source was unknown to me. He always makes me feel like I am a priority and that he and his staff truly care about my recovery. This was my first time ever going to physical therapy but there's no way it gets better than this place. I'm 25 and I was having constant knee pain. Knowing I didn't have an injury, I decided to seek PT to see if it would help. After my first appointment my constant pain was gone! Seriously, one appointment. My pain degraded and I was only having soreness in the knee after being active. Eric (& Frank) worked hard to identify the root of the problem and helped me strengthen those muscles to get rid of the nerve pain. They were always friendly and pleasant to work with and after 7 weeks i'm back to running and yoga with absolutely zero pain. I can't recommend them enough. read more

Both my husband and I are thrilled with Dr. Eric Bloom and his staff! My husband's knees are pain free for the first time since high school sports (30 years ago). I've suffered with back pain since I was a kid and it's finally being resolved! Eric has taken a lot of time to educate us on what's causing the problems and teaching us to use our muscles properly to prevent the chronic pain we were growing accustomed to over the years. I tell everyone I know if they have any type of pain to go see Eric Bloom. Other family members and co-workers now go to Eric as well. He is more than a physical therapist. He has additional certifications and training in other areas and one of his areas of specialized knowledge is "Dry Needling". He is able to relieve chronic pain by getting into the area and stimulating either the nerve or the muscle which doesn't hurt at all. Not only has he relieved me of some chronic neck and arm pain but I have seen a co-worker go from using a cane to walking again. Like others have said you won't be disappointed. read more

Erick Is one of The greatest physician I ever seen , I came to his office about four years ago with the sciatic nerve problem and the reason why I'm walking and live in my normal life again because of him !! Eric Bloom and the team are great. My daughter is a competitive cheerleader and fractured her back. The team just gets it, they know all athletes want back to their sport yesterday. Eric pushes the athlete to get them back to where they want to be, without compromising the integrity of his practice or the athlete. Every appointment he talks to her to figure out if they need to hold off on a particular movement or can add something back to her workout. To be honest, when my orthopedic surgeon recommended physical therapy as a last resort prior to surgery, I did a mental eye roll. Three months later I have regained full use of my arm, and avoided surgery completely. Eric is quite honestly the most knowledgeable, intelligent and compassionate physical therapist to which I've ever been and in my twilight years, there have been plenty. This is a great office. This is my first experience with Physical therapy and I must say it is the best. I was told that it would hurt and such but it has helped me tremendously.
