I've visited the Harley-Davidson store in Matthews several times while searching for the right bike, and every experience has been excellent. Nick, my salesperson, has been incredibly patient, knowledgeable, and never pushy--he truly takes the time to educate customers and help them make the right decision. The staff throughout the store is just as impressive. The accessories team was friendly and helped me choose quality cleaning products without trying to upsell expensive items, and the ladies at the apparel counter provided outstanding service when I purchased a few shirts. Nick also introduced me to the manager, who was very welcoming and professional, and the front desk team always greets customers with a smile. The service department made excuses for 2 weeks for not having my brakes on my switchback fixed. The manager said he would call me back and he never did. We spent 4 hrs. on the road and 6 hrs in the store and over$500.00 for them to attempt to repair the brakes. I took it to a local independent shop they fixed the issue in under 2 hrs. read more

Well I have a concern that Harley Davison does not hold up there deal when it comes to bikes especially when it's under warranty it has come to my attention that many people including my Man radios have been going out and Harley Davison are not standing up to there word about fixing especially when it's a manufacturer issues how can a radio just go out when you just hot a bike and a bike is always a it up in a garage or storage unit there have been a lot of complaints and people try to go get it resolve and they call the warranty department the ware department says talk to the dealership. the the dealership says call the warranty department and then they need prop you send them proof and they keep giving you the run around and then the GM always says let me see what I can do but gives you the run around or always in a meeting.. don't get me wrong I love Harley Davison bikes but if you can't stand by your word then I don't want one Harley Davis I'm going to need doe your entire company to do better this is ridiculous.. people pay all that money for there bike and can't get there radio fix because it's a malfunction.. Also may you guys don't need to leave them out in the sun if you say there weather resistant because to me that sounds like a like to me .. so to the entire company you guys need to do better .. read more

I had the pleasure of visiting this dealer while I was in town and what they did to take care of my needs went beyond my expectation. My bike needed to be fitted with a sissy bar and back rest, as well as all the mounting hardware and so I went in and ordered it with Tony who is the part manager. I didn't expect them to have all of my parts in stock since it was an older bike and the parts I was looking for were specific to what I wanted. My parts didn't make it until a few days later but the dealer let me borrow one which afforded me the ability to let a passenger ride which was the reason I went there in the first place. Even Tony's assistant Jim (I think that's his name) offered to lend me his sissy bar if I couldn't find one which is something I sincerely appreciated. While in there, I picked up a helmet, a battery tender and the apparel manager was super friendly and even gave us a pair of riding glasses and a couple of face covers to protect you from the wind. While there, I saw so many beautiful bikes, many 2020s and some 2019 and of course some older ones too, so if you're looking for that special Harley you've been dreaming of, look no further and stop by to see their good sized selection. My next ride is a Street Glide Special and I can't wait to see if they can get me in one for a deal. This place goes above and way beyond to making your experience here, be it in parts or service, as great as any other dealer I've been to. Everyone was super friendly and I can't wait to go back. Do not buy anything from Independence HD. Their sales manager is a joke and rude. They acted like they didn't care if they sold me a bike or not. Make sure you check the prices for service also. They are almost twice the price for service and labor compared to any of the other dealerships. Their Labor Costs are twice as much as anybody else. Sent from my iPhone, i purchased a 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle from Charlotte HD and did not make it home. I tried to get my trade in back and cancel the deal the very next morning and they refused to do that . I asked about limón law they said it dose not apply to used motor vehicles. They said they fixed it and sent me on my way , but two blocks away it broke down again . I have been sitting here at HD for hours and they still refuse to give me back my trade in and will not take their bike back. Mr. Caleb Odell, I guess my first question would be how long does it take to get keys in? Because I could've sworn that it was you that stated it would only take about a week. As for the service you were the one handling my service as an assistant manager and you could've cared less on what I was requesting. The bad thing is that you missed out on making money. I asked about replacing my shift linkage; you didn't seem to care. No suggestions, no up-sale attempt, NOTHING. I asked about having my handle bars "raked" back to me and you forgot about it and tried to get me out the door before I asked about it. That didn't work when YOU lost my key. Then you walked off blaming the mechanic, but when he made it very clear that he had given you the key, again you walked off and left me standing there for approximately 15-20mins. With NO ONE looking for it until I said something. The lost key wasn't an embarrassment for Independence Harley but more of an inconvenience to you. Then when I made it clear that I wasn't  just going to go away you offered to replace it. Here I am several weeks later still waiting on the replacement after you stated that it would only take a week. Let me add the following about your parts department: While waiting and spending money on clothing items I witnessed an outraged and very angry employee (Miles) on the telephone with who I hope was not a customer become some enraged that he began yelling, cursing, and then slammed the phone down onto the receiver numerous times. Seeing this I was hesitant to approach him about purchasing items for my bike. He was clearly still angry and very short in his answers. All the while becoming upset that his phone was ringing and was cursing before and after answering the phone. Then when he did return to me it was as if he didn't want to do his job or be inconvenienced.   As a professional for over 23 years who has worked with addicts and drug users Miles appeared to be intoxicated by narcotics. I had a great experience with service. Hunter and his assistant treated me like a gentleman and was respectful. I had a water pump go bad on my 2014 CVO ultra. I called Hunter in service and they had to order my parts. With our country upside down at the moment, I understand the parts are hard to come by. Once parts department text me the parts were in I called hunter back and scheduled an appointment for water pump replacement. It took a week to get me in but all went well. The service technician was also on point. The price was reasonable. I would recommend them and I will return. Keep in mind I have 109000 miles on my bike and still going strong. Huge selection of used Harleys but nothing is priced so they will not be easy to sell to a consumer who is price conscious The gentlemen in PARTS could not be nicer went out of his way to help me and was very knowledgeable and did not make me feel rushed However the clothing Manager is very arrogant and has lied to me on two occasions so I spent $819 at cox's Harley store today in rock Hill who gave me a bunch much better price and had a huge selection of all accessories in stock. Good selection of motorcycles and clothing. Poor inventory of accessories, most items need to be ordered. I purchased a new motorcycle here early 2019. The finance department seemed like they didn't know what they were doing. I had to go to DMV to pay additional money and fix the registration as well as clear up the title from my trade in. This happened after the new owner had taken over. I plan on purchasing a brand new Harley at the end of next year but it won't be here. read more

Worst service Dept ever. Had them install and wire a light bar on an aftermarket tour pack on my softail Heritage. Originally quoted $750 all in (parts plus 3 hours labor). After dropping the bike off several times and then picking it back up because some part didn't come in, they kept the bike two weeks. Finally finished, they tried to charge me $1500! They never called or even hinted that the project was going over budget. I was so angry. I was able to argue them down to $950. I was so hot I just left. Once I got home I realized the light bar wasn't working correctly. There were no brake lights. I called another dealer, Cox Harley and took the bike there. They were able fix the mess that Independence did to the bikes wiring. Cox said Independence had "butchered" the wiring. So I paid Cox an additional $185 to fix it. But the absolute worst was when Cox found that Independence had never performed a safety recall which I had brought the bike in to several months prior for that specific recall. Independence told me it was done and in fact they even billed Harley Corporate for the work. But the work was never actually done. So I had been riding around thinking my safety recall was taken care of and it wasn't. Thankfully Cox caught it. Cox had to send proof to Harley Corporate in order to get reimbursed for the job, but they worked it our. Never ever again will I take my bike to those crooks. Every other dealership on the east coast would have to burn to the ground before I would consider taking my bike there. Jack and Kim need to be fired. read more

This is by far the worst Harley-Davidson Dealership I have ever been to. I had an appointment this morning for 9am to get my Harley-Davidson Roadglide service and change an rear tire. So after waiting for 4 hours I finally got to talk to the service manger and he had an nerve to say something came up. When clearly I had an appointment for 9am... So apparently something was more important than completing my service and my rear tire change today, and decided to put my motorcycle to the side as if its not important. This is by far my worst experience with Harley-Davidson. I will not be coming back to this location as they don't have no respect for their customers. I do not recommend this Shop for anything unless you coming to get parts or apparel, then leave. Take parts somewhere else to get installed. read more
