Unresolved thefts from our home, medications missing, unauthorized visitors and only disinterest and lack of resolution from LCI. Our liaison is immature and generally non responsive. So, when a lawyer recommended them to help us take care of a friend as we live out of town, we looked at the fees. Our friend could afford them, so my husband signed the contract as her POA. Then the reviewer said they will sue you if you "don't have money to pay them back." Why did she sign up with them? It's not like the fees are hidden. Did she not make an agreement to pay them back? I found this confusing with misplaced blame. That being said, LifeCare has been a godsend for us. Our friend is visited every week and the care manager is fantastic in checking up with caregivers and the assisted living personnel. He attends to whatever we need of him to help us out. Their nurse came and did an outstanding overall health review with suggestions to make our friend's daily living a better experience (about a 15 page summary). As a result, we are moving our friend to what we believe is a better facility for her needs, AND it is almost $1600 cheaper per month. Now we can re-direct the savings towards more one-on-one part-time care. We, too, experienced sticker shock all around with the state of elderly care in this country, and I'm sure many people could not afford this level of oversight for a loved one. However, our friend can, and we are grateful for the exemplary service LifeCare provides. My recommendation to anyone who has a family member in a facility is to at least contract for the bare minimum so there is an experienced, expert set of eyes to alert you to any issues.

Yelp has this absurd AlGoreithm that automatically and mindlessly dumps perfectly valid, legitimate reviews into this "not recommended" bucket for no good reason. They generally seem to be from commenters that only have one or a couple reviews, but that is not always the case. Those "not recommended" reviews do not count in the overall star rating. Here, all those 9 reviews are solid 5-stars that clearly contradict and offset the two outliers. As will mine. I needed transportation from the hospital after an outpatient procedure. Just a car ride home. Hospitals have become very picky and obstinate about this and in these times there is nobody around. People have jobs, kids and commitments to deal with. In this sw suburb area there are virtually no options. The last local outfit I dealt with now refused to help. I was lucky enough to find Home & Hearth Caregivers after an extensive search. They were very helpful in arranging this non-emergency medical transportation (NEMT) and at a very reasonable rate. But wait ... there's more. After I got to the hospital, ready for the procedure, already lying on a bed hooked up to an IV, they suddenly and unexpectedly informed me that I MUST have someone stay overnight. After substantial resulting chaos Home & Hearth came through and found somebody at the very last minute. Truly above and beyond effort. Caregivers and staff were wonderful. Very nice, polite and helpful. Couldn't ask for better. As for rates, they are typical for the area. I did compare. Billing came through clearly presented and accurate. They get my highest recommendation and should I need such services in the future, they are my #1 choice.

My Mom passed away here years ago . Now I find my dad here for rehab and there are soooo many…read morethings wrong with the place, I could write a laundry list. My elderly Dad broke his hip. He was at Edwards Hospital for 7 days and each of those days after surgery he was gotten up in the chair. It took some effort, but they did it. He's on his 4th day here and still unable to get him in the chair. Rehab won't try and he'll need a lift to get him up. He needs full care at this point. The other day I arrived at 11 am. His cold breakfast was uneaten on his tray table, no blankets on him and he was on a bedpan for well over an hour. They said they couldn't wake him up. Well I showed them how to wake him up and with my help he ate everything plus 2 ensure shakes ( which I brought) , orange juice and a large glass of water. His room was and still is filthy. Can't find anyone to clean it. His television is all staticky and almost unwatchable. Trash in the drawers and under furniture from another patient. The place just smells! I can't in good conscience recommend this place to anyone and as soon as I am able, I'll get my Dad out of here. He deserves better. I am a health professional and have lots of experience with hospitals, nursing homes and rehab centers.

This facility is extremely understaffed. Our father was in there for 13 days and I feel he was not…read moreproperly cared for. The staff often looked like they were running like chickens without heads or a deer in headlights. Once care was given to him the staff talked to us, but it was not long as they had other patients who were constantly pressing their call buttons. To say our family was more than disappointed is an understatement. Before putting your loved ones in Tillers, I would make sure that they enough staffing to accommodate your needs.

I don't remember the person in charge (maybe Amanda), but she remembered my mom & ended up switching things around to get my mom her own room to accommodate her wishes of having her daughters take turns spending the night with her. Aside from that, they had many activities for the residents. We enjoyed playing bingo several times and looked forward to getting our little treat when we bingoed. The administrative staff was professional, responsive, and compassionate, making a difficult time much easier to navigate. The nursing team treated my father with dignity, kindness, and genuine concern, while the PT/OT staff were knowledgeable, patient, and truly invested in his progress. The social worker was invaluable--guiding our family through care planning and next steps with clarity and empathy. The facility was exceptionally clean, well maintained, and well organized, and communication with our family was excellent throughout.
