This restaurant is the real deal. Makes the customer feel like they are magically transported to India. Ornate decorations, very friendly owner and bartender. Killer Bloody Mary's. We ordered a variety of dishes starting with samosas and chili chicken wings. The samosas were hot, crispy, and perfectly spiced. The chili wings were off the hook. Next we ordered butter chicken, basil cream, and a spicy chicken with onions which sent my taste buds into oblivion. I've eaten a lot of Indian food and often the spices are too overpowering and all the dishes begin to taste the same- all of the dishes were uniquely spiced and tasted homemade like I was dining in someone's home kitchen without out the heavy turmeric cumin flavor so each dish stood out in it's own right. We love Indian food. Well, we like good Indian food, and we certainly love the new India 4 U restaurant located at 425 North Main Street in Manteca! When my wife and I first went in we were completely amazed at the new decor. Everywhere you look there are beautiful things to see, far to many to list. The space has been completely transformed into a tapestry of color and imagery! And this is just a bonus. The real prize here is the amazing food! India 4 U has a large menu and for those not conversant in Indian cuisine each comes with a clear and accurate description. Best of all, for me especially, you can request whatever level of spice you like. Mild for my wife and I and spicy for my son. We usually order off the menu although there was a buffet for a short while. I do think that as more and more people discover this wonderful restaurant that perhaps a full buffet will once again be offered. I would be hard pressed to name my favorite dish. All of the appetizers have been wonderful, the garlic naan is crazy good. We have tried several main dishes, and under the guidance of our son, who is a vegetarian and a lover of Indian cuisine, we have always ordered several vegetarian dishes, all of which we really liked. Almost every time we have been in the person waiting on us, has also been the one cooking the food. If we had a special request regarding level of spice, etc. it has been served perfect! Excellent food!! Traveling through town and found this restaurant on Yelp. The tandoori chicken was very moist and flavorful. Came with excellent rice with vegetables. The naan was perfect-still nice and warm after getting it back to our hotel room. Ordered iced chai tea which was perfect in the hot weather. Honestly, can't speak for the food. Only for the treatment of customers. My grandmother came here while the restaurant was empty and instead of speaking to her or taking her order she was ignored with the front of house on a personal call. After being ignored for a substantial amount of time she decided to leave. Only when she tried to leave did he acknowledge her. When she made a comment that he seemed too preoccupied on the phone he commented rudely back to her something akin to, "Well, what do you think expect me to do? Wait around for you?". What a shame! I would like to give no rating to this place. Firstly they miss an item from my order. I call them to check. The person who answered first denied that they forgot the order. I said I have it on my app, you can check my order. Then he owned up to it. And then when I asked him for the solution (also mentioned my situation- I didn't have a car to drive there to go get my order corrected and hence placed the initial order on UberEats). Every sentence I spoke, I addressed him as Sir. He spoke rudely and I reciprocated too. He said- Don't you commit a mistake, what do you do when you commit a mistake? He also said you are an Indian and you are talking to an Indian like this? He also added- You are a woman, you cook. What if you add more salt one day? What will you do? Are these questions you ask your customer? This is ridiculous. He made me tear up for the first time for a food order. And when I initially asked how would you fix it because you are responsible, he said but I gave 16 oz of curry instead of 8 oz curry and bread. I don't see how that's the solution. I took the liberty of hanging up on the person who answered. Never ordering from them, never going to their restaurant. They don't deserve customers and their hard earned money. I've tried a lot of Indian food from a verity of different places, but this experience wasn't it. I ordered plain naan (3) and butter chicken (1) which came out to be $25 which was a decent price. The butter chicken has a very unoriginal taste to it. Usually you get an aromatic creamy flavor yet the butter chicken here tasted as of barbecue sauce. Definitely not my favorite Indian place. If you're in the Manteca area I recommend trying Indian Cafe Restaurant instead. :) read more

Decided to try this place out because of the good reviews but boy did I go wrong. My food was watery. I ordered mutter paneer and I've had it so many times I know what the consistency of the sauce should be and it looked more like beef broth. Also portions are very small and expensive.
