For some reason, I crave Indian food whenever I'm in Manteca. I finally had some yesterday and unfortunately, it was extremely disappointing. The restaurant itself is decorated very nicely and the bathroom is gorgeous. The server (older gentleman) was friendly and great so most of the stars go to him. Tandoori Chicken was super dry and tasted as if it was cooked the day before and just reheated for us. Garlic Naan was burnt and the garlic flavor was almost non-existent. Butter Chicken had the weirdest flavor but was also bland at the same time. The samosas were the only decent food item. I didn't try the coffee but was told that it tasted like it was made using instant/powdered coffee. I hate to leave a less than stellar review but I can't recommend this place nor will I ever try this place again. However, thank you to the server for the great service! read more

I woke up at 1pm today so there really was no other rational choice than to order spicy Indian food as my first meal. Happy to find that India 4 u is on all of the food delivery apps such as grubhub and uber eats. Of course you can always order take out too but like I said, I woke up veryyyy late today lol I ended up ordering more than I usually do but I was starving and haven't been able to do an Indian buffet due to the pandemic. A couple of dishes stood out to me the most. First the paneer tikka masala was sensational, although they did not ask for the spice degree it had the perfect amount of spice! Almost as if I added a note on my order to make it spicy! I also enjoyed the garlic naan, roti and plain basmati rice as my sides as well. I'm very picky with plain rice! To me if a restaurant makes good plain rice that's a staple and means everything else is good! The portions were too small for my liking. Excited to know I can support a small business today... and eat yummy food! This is a win win in my book read more

Cannot recommend this place for authentic Indian cuisine. We ordered the chicken tikka kabobs, but they were not kabobs at all. It was more like a grilled chicken skillet drowned in onions and bell pepper. Basically it looked like fajitas and tasted like them which is totally fine, if you ordered fajitas. We asked if it was cooked in a clay oven and they said that they first cook it on a skillet and then finished off in a clay oven, but that didn't seem the case at all. We asked for extra spice and it seem like all they did was put that red chili sauce over the top instead of preparing it spicer. We also had a few orders of naan and garlic naan, but they were super dry and salty with no actual flavoring. We even had the butter chicken, which was the only decent item that we ordered, which is pretty hard to mess up to be honest. Still nothing that wowed and would not order again. The interior is set up with a lot of nice South Asian and Middle Eastern works of art, which is cool. Unfortunately for us, there was someone who came in at the time we were eating and was calling very loudly for either the owner or someone who worked at the place. They had an extremely loud conversation shouting from the entrance door to the back kitchen over some borrowed items. We were the only ones there so it was hard to ignore or have the conversation drowned out. Can't say I will be back or recommend to a friend. read more

Not to completely be sour, the owner did make an exception and allowed us to dine indoors with our 2 year old dog. We are greatly thankful about this gesture. Don't get fooled by ambiance, it's worst place and worst Indian food I had ever in Bay Area . We were group of 15 people entered this place, there was no one to get order. Waiter came after 30 minutes .. a very confused guy was doing so many mistakes writing order .. When food started coming on table .. it was horrible and uncooked .. first time in life we have seen chicken wings in curry gravy, that too raw and with dripping blood. We realize all food so bad, being with kids as they were lost all appetite we decided to cancel order and leave the place . This shameless guy came asking what's wrong and when we explain he came with argument and started talking nonsense. We have to pay for the food that didn't came to table and leave. If it was up to me this restaurant would get zero stars! We ordered thru GrubHub however, the food came in on time. We ordered tandoori chicken, lamb kebabs and my children's favorite butter chicken. The kebabs were so dry as if they picked it up from buffet and reheated the kebabs. We wouldn't give leftovers to a dog that's how terrible the food was. I called the restaurant and spoke with the manager. He apologized and was ready to bring a new order of kebabs. An hour passed and I called the restaurant and was told the manager was on his way. As soon as I hung up the manager called and said he was on his way and said his car over heated. I said forget about bringing the food and if he bring it the next day and he said yes. Horrible and no filling with Sweet sauce??? Sent us butter chicken instead of chicken Tikka masala. Again if this was their Tikka masala, I've no words. Our first time here! We enjoyed the food it reminded me of my aunts homemade food. Everything came out fresh and didn't take too long of a wait for food. Taste is fine, but food is way too pricey. $16 each only for malai kofta and tikka chicken. Quantity is also not much. Actual price is almost more than 50% of the listed price. Like the taste of curries but naan was a big disappointment. Also, post check in at yelp received a discount of 15% but staff said no to the discount as there manager was not there. THIS PLACE IS FRAUD!!!! I just checked my bank statement only to see that the owner TIPPED HIMSELF!!! We went back to get our money back from him. Him & his son were extremely hostile and rude which is usually what happens when you are in the wrong. He was saying the menu is from Antioch because someone "stole" their menus here in Manteca?? and therefore the prices are different. Also that there was a "bank fee" which we were never told or shown & they REFUSED to give a full refund back! Businesses like this do not deserve peoples money or time. I only came for samosas the first time I was here, and now this has become THE favorite and go-to for all my Indian food cravings above the other two in Manteca and the one in neighboring Lathrop. The samosas were great! Smaller than what I've been served before. But every savory bite is so delightful, especially paired with their fresh, so refreshing, mint chutney OH! *CHEF'S KISS* Today I had the chef's recommendation of the Shahi Paneer above my requested Punjabi Curry Paneer. Never had the Shahi Paneer before. Got damn I'm glad I got it today!!! My son has never had Indian curry, masala, etc. before and he Naan'd some Shahi in his mouth and said YES! I was ready to cry happy tears bc his dad is not about to date night me in this beautiful restaurant so at least I'm getting more of the littles to enjoy and explore their tastes. Thanks for the recommendation, chef! The paneer was top notch, btw-- smooth and creamy. Beyond that I highly highly recommend getting that yummy hot (sweetened for me) Masala Chai! The chef makes it fresh, most likely from scratch because that's what I think I taste and like to believe. Also the pizza naan is pretty good, my son loves it. And you can order Indian Sweets from the sweets shop nextdoor, yay!! I'm hoping to see this restaurant grow and be enjoyed by my fellow Mantecans and other visiting patrons. Starting with the food, it unequivocally ranks as a top Indian food spot for me. The lamb in the biryani was fall apart tender and there was so much flavor in every bite. The chicken tikka masala was so buttery and creamy yet rich and flavorful and it paired wonderfully with the naan. The naan itself, I could keep eating nonstop. We got both the garlic and traditional and it was fresh and hot and so good. Above all else, everything is HALAL and that's why I came here and I'm so happy I did.
