    Lamb Dosa, Samosa

The food was outstanding! We ordered best dosa I've ever eaten, as well as delicious lamb vindaloo and chicken tikka masala. The service was also very good. The decor is more modern and simple, not like the typical Indian restaurants we visit which tend to be more ornate.

I was very much looking forward to trying India Avenue. I was hoping to give it five stars, the delivery service definitely deserves five stars! I ordered one of my favorites - Saag Paneer - spinach with paneer cheese. I am so happy to see restaurants in business and happy to continue ordering from them. While the dining out options have been limited, its been a chance to try out new restaurants via delivery. Tonight I figured I would try India Avenue. In the past I usually went to Tandoori in Port Chester but decided to try India Avenue for a change. I was so hoping for a great dish. The Sag Paneer tonight was not to my taste. I love spice but I dislike overly salty foods. My favorite part of the meal was the Basmati rice. I thought it was very good.

Potato paste sent inside kathi roll instead of Lamb
    M M.

Ordered lamb kathi rolls yesterday. When opened the container today it was aloo tikki (a potatoe paste) inside the roll. (I was charged for lamb ) When I called to inform them they first questioned me in return why Am I calling them next day instead of yesterday? I said because I am eating it today and I want them to know they sent wrong order. But instead of apologizing or accepting he said well if u told us yesterday we could do something about it but now we won't do anything. So I said, I don't need u to do much I just want u to accept u sent me wrong order. So he goes ' yeah yeah we accept we sent u wrong order' .... seriously !!!!

I love going to this little hidden gem, it's clean and the people are very friendly. I actually came with my uncle today for lunch, he traveled all the way from Brooklyn to try the Madara Chicken I rave about.

We also shared the lasooni gobi, palak paneer and butter chicken. This was my first time ever having butter chicken believe it or not, I found the sauce to have a great depth of flavor but my favorite bite of the night was definitely the lasooni gobi. It was medium spice but was I definitely was able to handle it. I loved every single bite. The palak paneer was good too, but maybe I'd try the chili paneer next time because I found myself avoiding the sauce and the bell peppers and just eating the cheese, so I want to know if I'd like it more in another sauce. The place itself definitely needs some more life inside, it was empty and there was a huge TV playing music videos which was cool but definitely needs a fresh coat of paint, better tablecloths and some nice plates and cups would've been nice, it kinda felt like dining in was discouraged despite having a decent amount of seating. Definitely not as much of a vibe as the place down the street but the food was good!

The baingan warli (eggplant with peanuts and stuffed spices) was OUT OF THIS WORLD! The fried puri with aam rass (mango puree), reminded us of nostalgic heaven. -Aam panna, a mango mocktail with special ingredients, was not sweet and just right! -Malvani fish fry.... oh my i have no words for this dish. I ordered the Butter Murgh, made with tandoori chicken strips, green chili, bell pepper, and a rich cream based sauce. The chicken was tender and well seasoned, and the sauce struck a nice balance between warmth and subtle sweetness. It was indulgent without feeling too heavy and paired perfectly with basmati rice. My girlfriend had the Dal Tadka, a comforting blend of two lentils finished with burnt garlic and fresh herbs. The garlic added depth and aroma, giving the dish a layered and satisfying flavor. It is a reminder that simple ingredients handled well can be just as impressive as anything else on the menu. We also ordered roti, which was soft, warm, and ideal for scooping up every bit of sauce. It complemented both dishes beautifully and tied the meal together. Service was genuinely warm and welcoming. The staff was attentive without hovering and made the experience feel relaxed and personal. That hospitality goes a long way. The only reason this lands at four stars instead of five is that while everything was very enjoyable, it did not quite cross into unforgettable territory. Still, it is a dependable and flavorful option in Stamford.

It delivers an experience that feels vibrant, thoughtful, and genuinely memorable from start to finish. We started with drinks, including the Mighty Mule, a variety of margaritas, and the Taj Smash, which was easily a standout. Refreshing, well balanced, and beautifully presented, the cocktails were crafted with real attention to detail. The presentation throughout the night, from drinks to appetizers, was impressive and elevated the entire experience. For appetizers, we ordered both the Veggie Samosa and Keema Samosa, and they were excellent. Crisp on the outside with flavorful fillings and paired with vibrant dipping sauces, they set the tone for what was to come. We shared several entrées including the Butter Chicken, Paneer Butter Masala, and Tadka Dal. Every dish was rich, comforting, and deeply flavorful. The spice levels were spot on, giving warmth and complexity without overpowering the palate. The sauces were silky and layered, perfect for scooping up with fresh bread and rice. A major highlight of the evening was our waiter, Dipin. He was charming, attentive, and genuinely kind. He guided us through the menu with confidence and warmth, making sure everything flowed seamlessly. And then the surprise touch that truly set the night apart. My girlfriend received complimentary henna on her hand, beautifully done and completely unexpected. It turned a great meal into a lasting memory.

We tried various small plates which included the dhokla, samosa chaat, & chicken samosas. The apps were small in portion but were well seasoned and absolutely delicious! The chicken samosas were served with ketchup and had a slight kick to them. For main courses we tried a plain dosa with sambar and coconut chutney, the butter chicken bowl & a paneer khati roll. The dosa was crisp and beautifully paper thin. The butter chicken was served over white rice & was very tasty. We only wished it had more gravy on it. The khati roll was packed full of paneer and not overly spicy. We loved the dhokla and samosa chaat so much we ordered a second set to take home. The venue offers traditional drinks like masala chai and mango lassi in addition to traditional sweets. The menu is small but fun and great for a quick bite to eat. We also had a small hiccup with the chai tea: it comes unsweetened with sugar on the side, but the sugar was forgotten at first. When it did arrive, there was no spoon and not quite enough packets. The chai itself was decent once we could actually sweeten it. The momos were surprisingly flavorful on their own, with a nice curry spice kick that made them enjoyable even without dipping sauce. The sauces they come with are also tasty, just be careful, as one has a pretty strong heat that lingers. We also had the chicken garlic soup, which was quite tasty with fried garlic chips on top.
