We shared the vegetable fried rice, and my friend, who is on a health kick, asked if they could prepare it with brown rice and no onions. They were very accommodating and happily made the adjustments. The fried rice also had Maitake mushrooms, which added a nice touch. She also ordered the sweet-and-sour tofu, which I didn't realize was on the appetizer menu. It was actually a full-sized portion! I tasted a piece and thought it was very good. We both had a glass of Riesling, which was delicious and leaned toward the sweeter side, just the way I like it. The restaurant itself is beautiful, with two impressive dining-room floors and magnificent chandeliers. Since it was such a beautiful day, dining outdoors was the perfect choice. The seating was very comfortable, and the staff couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating with some of my friend's special requests. One note about parking: finding a spot on Greenwich Avenue can be challenging. The meters are limited to two hours, which should be enough time for lunch, but I was arriving early, so I needed more time. I ended up finding a small municipal lot on the corner of Mason and Havemeyer Pl which worked out perfectly.
