So packed today, it was so hard to get the waiters attention. Love the food but the 1pm rush made it hard to get napkins, bread, iced water, order drinks, anything that wasnt in the food buffet. They need to hire more help for the lunch rush. The 2-3 waiters they have are great, and I felt so bad for them becus they were definitely doing their best and going above and beyond trying to keep up, but when every table is full and there's people outside waiting in line, there's only so much the waiters can do. My review of 3 stars is for management/ownership only. If you own a restaurant and you are short staffed i would say its your responsibility to get out there and help your staff, in the dining room, refilling the food or cooking in kitchen, or even just bringing the bill to all the tables. We only went up to get a plate twice, & both times there was a shortage of many of the items, no Samosas, no Chicken, no napkins, no forks. Also the same waiters had to bus their own tables and pick up dirty dishes, clean the table and prep it for next group/guest. read more

The food is was actually quite good. It wasn't overly spiced, and the color of the dishes looked just right and appetizing. The butter chicken was delicious, chunks of white meat. They have biryanis and Dahl, goat stew this time and jalapeño chicken (not sure if this is a traditional dish), vegetarian options. They are short on the deserts (no gulab Jamun). Abundance of Naan bread. There were 12-of us and our pleasant experience soured when the bill arrived. They added the tip directly to the total without asking for permission or giving any warning. While the kitchen does a great job, forcing a gratuity onto the check without transparency is disappointing. Definitely check your receipt before paying. My review is for their lunch buffet. The owner was there at opening on a Sat. He is friendly and I could see that he is proud of his restaurant fresh offerings. The buffet was well maintained. Most of the curries are chicken, and I think there were 2 veg curries (including saag paneer) and they also put out a goat curry. The fresh naan is wonderful, and they allow a basket per person. The mango custard was something I haven't seen on other Indian buffets and I became hooked on the light texture. I would say the buffet curries were milder and lighter in flavors, not deep rich flavors but still satisfying. I am not well versed in details of Indian cuisine. I find it a great comfort food, but some other Indian curries I've had have tasted richer, but those may have been more tailed for Western tastes (more creams, heavier flavors) Homemade chai is also offered. For $20 on weekend, what a great deal for buffet! Ventura County does not really have any more ayce Indian buffets so this was a real treat for me. read more

Indian food is definitely a staple of my family's existence and just feels like comfort food whenever we have it. There aren't too many places to get it here in Santa Clarita and we were happy to try this new-ish place, next to Target in the heart of the Santa Clarita Valley. Our litmus test for Indian is Saag Paneer. (Generally we eat vegetarian when getting Indian.) We ordered it (and all our dishes a notch above mild so we can taste the spice without having the heat be too distracting. This may have been a notch above that in delivery but was delicious and ultimately passed "the test" for us. We also had Yellow Daal (harty and flavorful), garlic naan and vegetable samosas, all of which we enjoyed. The samosas, too, were slightly on the spicy side, but again not too distracting from the ample flavor. They have a whole separate menu section labeled "Vegetarian" as well as "vegan" labels on dishes so if you do have one of those diets, besides being happy to have so many options, you are well taken care of here. On top of all this, while we were there, most of the other patrons were Indian families which always seems like the real litmus test on whether the food is good and authentic. $50 delivery meal.... I would recommend this place if you want a pretty great meal, and enjoy the typical flavors of Indian food. I played it safe because I ordered through door dash and it came to $50 with deals,fees, taxes, and tips. As for the food, all the flavors hit dead on for the most part. The Chicken Tikka Masala was creamy with a little acidity and warmth. Chicken wasn't dry, and there was a good amount. The Mango Lassi was fantasticly bright with tropical flavor. I think this was the star of the meal because this restaurant has a really great version of the drink. Very thick and fruity. The rice was aromatic and had a great fluffiness and soaked up the delicious Masala juices perfectly. The desert was Galub Jamun, which is like a donut in a thin syrup. The dish itself is fantastic, but theirs was mid, which was acceptable. Nothing special but enjoyable nonetheless. The Garlic Naan was mid as well, but was 2 for $6, which was fair since DoorDash made it BOGO. It stretched the meal way further. I had high hopes for this place. The dosas looked good. We parked and walked up to the restaurant. We noticed some kind of Bollywood video with dancers on a big screen inside. My boyfriend told me this video is old because the actor in it looked young but is now old. Upon first glance, I admit seeing this threw me right away. I came in here on Sunday night with my boyfriend. They immediately did not look happy to see us. They suggested we order the food to go, tossed a menu for us to look at on a table nearby, and walked away. They supposedly close at 10pm. They said their dining room is already closed (we arrived 9:15) and the kitchen closes at 9:30. Then revise your hours!!!!!!!! Wth!!! We had a long day and were hungry, only to be turned away at the door by a place that supposedly closes at 10pm. We could've went somewhere else !!!!!!!! Social media made me aware of "India Garden" and its daily lunch buffet. I decided to drop by on a Saturday and had a really enjoyable visit. Parking spots were to be found even though there's alot of neighboring businesses in the strip mall where "India Garden" is situated. The front and interior of the restaurant was very inviting. The Indian background music was very relaxing and got me in an exotic mode. Staff were very polite and attentive. I had a few favorites like the Chicken Tikka Masala (not spicy and so flavorsome), the unlimited freshly made Garlic Naan (so garlicky yet so buttery), and Mango Custard sauce(I love Mango Curry so I mixed this into the Tikka Masala) to name but a few. The Samosa's were compact and tasty. The Biryani was flavorsome and not too spicy. Actually, there was a few different rice options. Toilets were also clean and maintained. Our dining experience was unfortunately very disappointing due to poor service and a lack of coordination from the staff. One of the most frustrating issues was that our naan bread arrived well after we had already been served--and nearly finished--our main meal, which significantly impacted the overall dining experience. Throughout the meal, our water jug was also left empty for extended periods, and despite staff frequently passing by our table, no one offered to refill it unless prompted. What made the experience even more unpleasant was that the staff repeatedly reminded us that the buffet was closing 10 minutes before the advertised closing time on the restaurant's website. If the buffet is intended to stop serving at 2:50 p.m., it should not be advertised as closing at 3:00 p.m. Being rushed before the stated closing time made us feel unwelcome and uncomfortable, and it reflected poorly on the restaurant's professionalism. To add to the disappointment, a staff member arrived with the payment machine while we were still finishing up, making us feel as though we were being hurried out rather than allowed to enjoy our meal at our own pace. Overall, the inattentive service, poor timing, and lack of professionalism overshadowed the food and left us with a very negative impression. Food: mediocre at best. Like my husband says "it filled the stomach" but we would never come back to eat here. The rice is regular run of the mill rice. Not Basmati rice. The pakoras were very greasy and looked like refried leftovers. The samosas were definitely not freshly made. Most likely frozen & deep fried. Barely any filling inside. Poor selection of desserts. Great new option for Indian food. We did a take out order and since I had questions about some of their menu items, I called them directly to place the order. The staff was courteous and answered all my questions. I called in the order before 6 and it was ready in about 30 min. We ordered the Paneer Tikka Masala, Samosa (2 comes in one order) garlic naan, Dal Fry (lentil) and Gobi Manchurian (cauliflower). We enjoyed the Tikka Masala and Gobi Manchurian the best and would probably order these 2 dishes again. The Dal Fry and Samosas were a little too spicy for our taste. We enjoyed the naan bread also. It's pretty huge so you can probably share with another person. The restaurant had a good number of booths and tables. At around 6 it was half full. I feel reasonably qualified to weigh in on Indian food. I've been to India more than eight times and it's one of my favorite cuisines in the world. When Indian food is done well, it's spectacular. Unfortunately, this place lands firmly in the "fine, but forgettable" category. The menu feels designed first and foremost for the suburban comfort zone: chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, rice, gulab jamun. All perfectly edible, but also the exact same lineup you'll find at nearly every Indian restaurant in America. Nothing here really stood out or hinted at regional specialties or dishes you don't see everywhere else. Personally, I'm always hoping to see a little more personality. India has an enormous culinary range, and things like chaat, regional street food, or less common curries can make a menu interesting. Here it's mostly the usual suspects. The buffet is another mixed bag. Buffets by nature tend to flatten a cuisine; everything is cooked in bulk and sits under heat lamps, so the flavors lose their edge. This one was decent enough, but again, nothing memorable. The à la carte menu is somewhat better. There are a couple of goat curries that add a bit more character. At the same time, the menu also drifts into Indo-Chinese territory with noodle dishes and Chinese-style items, which makes the overall focus feel a little scattered. Would I go back? Maybe if I happened to be nearby and had a craving for Indian food. But it's not a place I'd go out of my way to visit. It's competent, but with a cuisine as rich and varied as Indian food, "competent" feels like a missed opportunity. read more

An underrated gem for Santa Clarita Indian food. Staff were super nice and friendly, making for a warm and inviting atmosphere. Though I didn't have the all you can eat deal, the Saag Paneer was really well-made and arrived in a beautiful dish. Disappointing Experience at India Garden's Lunch Buffet We were looking forward to trying India Garden's lunch buffet, but unfortunately, our visit fell short of expectations. Arriving around 1:30 PM on a Friday, we found the restaurant full and chaotic. There was no host at the entrance, and we had to seek out a staff member ourselves to be seated. The buffet, despite it being peak lunch hour, was nearly empty with only a few cold dishes remaining. Service was inconsistent throughout. We had to flag down staff multiple times. First to place drink and naan orders, and again for assistance. Initially we were told that garlic naan wasn't available, we were later served it once the restaurant began to clear out, which added to the confusion. The interior décor was pleasant, but the seating felt cramped. During our hour-long visit, we noticed several other guests visibly frustrated, trying to get the attention of the one server. We did order an à la carte Gobi Manchurian, which was excellent (easily the highlight of the meal) along with enjoyable desserts like kheer and gulab jamun. While we understand that the restaurant is relatively new, guests still expect a basic level of service and food quality, especially when dining out for a special occasion. We shared our concerns with a staff member at checkout, but rather than listening, he seemed more focused on asking whether we liked the food that we did receive. We are open to revisiting in the future and hope the management addresses these early operational issues. However, this visit left our party disappointed, especially given we were there to celebrate a special day. read more

I ordered through Yelp for pick up. 46$ for one person (including 10ish% tip) 1 veggie korma (very greasy and sauce separated) 2 naan Peri peri fries (very spicy couldn't eat) Normal sounding price until you compare the portions to Great India Kitchen or Royal Tandoori also -- no chutneys offered or given. They do give a small side of rice so if it's just you don't order more. You won't need it. Normally I can get 3-4 meals from one portion of korma. I'm the only one who eats curry in my house. Right now I have had 1 serving and will have barely enough for a lunch. I may try the buffet for better value but I won't order regular dinner here. read more

I went here today did the second time. I ordered by the menu. I didn't go to buffet. I ordered chicken biriyani. I am not an expert on this dish but I have had it before several times. I don't know all the ingredients that go into this dish but it's very flavourful. The waiter asked me "mild, medium or spicy". I asked for medium and it was okay for me but I am really used to spicy food by now. Order mild if in doubt. They also brought plain nan bread. The quantity was a lot. You can share this dish. Came here for the Friday lunch buffet on a whim and Wow was I pleasantly surprised. Your choice of fresh Naan bread (plain, butter or garlic) served to your table. A good amount to choose from on the buffer side. Butter chicken is a must and their mango custard and gulab jamun are a perfect way to cap off the meal.
