This fast food vibe restaurant had such delicious food. It is not necessarily fast, but you order at the counter and they deliver your food in to-go containers. Right down to the plastic utensils and paper plates. But, who cares about that. This very decently priced food was worth the drive. We shared the chicken tikka masala, rice with very fresh peas, raita and plain naan. I ate way too much and we still had leftovers. My daughter and grandkids pick up their food about once a week. The restaurant also had tables/booths with people of Indian heritage enjoying the food. That is always a good sign. It's not the best neighborhood. It's right off the 5 freeway at a very popular truck stop. It's located at the far end of a strip center and has plenty of parking. I'm so glad I checked Yelp instead because this was a great dining experience and is on our map to return to. We ordered a chicken tikka masala bowl, a saag paneer bowl, two garlic naans, and two mango lassis. It came out to about $42 which I already thought was reasonable but when I saw the size of the portions, I was amazed. Our bowls were filled to the top and we will definitely be able to make a few meals out of them. Our family came for dinner & ordered a variety of items.. samosas, chicken korma, goat coconut curry, butter chicken, tofu curry (for my vegan BIL), chicken tandoori, lamb coconut curry, chicken tika masala, garlic naan, plain naan, chili & garlic naan, jeera rice & also raita yogurt & tamarind chutney. They served us chilled bottled water as soon as we sat down. The food came hot in To Go containers and they gave us styrofoam plates & plastic utensils which is convenient because we can just eat whatever we can and then take the leftovers home. The portions were surprisingly generous. We could actually share our selections family style. I ordered my butter chicken spicy but it came mild or maybe that's "goris" & "goras" typical "spicy" level. I went up to the counter & asked for hot chilies & the gentleman kindly brought out a small container from the fridge with a spicy fresh chili sauce (yum!) he warned that it was very spicy. I told him we want our mouths to burn & I assured him that I will probably be the first girl he's met that can outdo anyone he knows. LOL. My family has always had the hots for chilies! Visiting the area from Seattle , my husband wanted Indian and this establishment is one my sister has eaten at. This establishment is located in the heart of where truckers stop to eat and fuel up. It is located in a small strip of stores. I will start out and say the food is outstanding but the interior decor has absolutely no personality, no inviting ambiance. It's filled with booths and the wall colors are odd. No decor in the place. The menu display boards are bright and easy to read. I really liked how the menu clearly outlined vegetarian options. There were 4 of us so we ordered 4 different dishes. The samosas were robust and flavorful! The naan breads were good but needed to be toasted longer. I ordered the aloo gobi - contained very large stems of cauliflower- wished they were cut into smaller pieces, potatoes were scarce. I also ordered the paneer tikka - delicious! The sauce was creamy and the paneer chunks were big. What blew me away was we dined in and dinner was brought to us on a cafeteria tray in "to go" containers, along with paper plates and plastic silverware wrapped in plastic. I have never dined in a restaurant and served like this. I was stunned and found it extremely wasteful. Our naan breads were wrapped in thick foil. The customer service was okay. No one came to the table and asked how our food was. As stated the food was delicious but the experience was odd. If I returned I get take out vice dining it. Very odd customer experience. read more
