    Veggie Lamb Curry
    Rick L.

We've had Indian food all over Southern Cal., including at other spots in Santa Clarita...it's one of our favorites, but our experience here was disappointing. The service was great, and the atmosphere is spot on. Nicely decorated with the requisite Indian music and monitors showing Indian films. We enjoyed the starter they brought us. I want to say papadams, as that's what usually comes, but this was different. The "chips" were reminiscent of fried wonton strips that typically come at Chinese food restaurants, served with a delicious, savory, and heavily garlic-laden chutney. It was delicious. The good times ended there...we also ordered a Masala Dosa and Veggie Lamb Curry. The dosa filling was good and tasty, but the dosa wrapper itself was a little "batter-y" tasting if that makes sense, and was hard to cut. The Veggie Lamb Curry was inedible. There was a restaurant in the San Fernando Valley that served Vegan Lamb Samosas, which I had in mind when ordering this. (Those were truly fantastic...) But this curry had very little flavor besides the spice, and the "meat" itself was weirdly squishy and not pleasant to eat. I usually love dishes like this, but I had to stop eating it. The spice level was unusual...we asked for medium but it came out super-spicy. We thought we'd supplement with an order of Saag Paneer, which is our litmus test for Indian restaurants...we asked for it mild, and it came with no spice whatsoever. There's got to be a middle ground between no spice and the super-spicy "medium" that the Veggie Lamb Curry had. The Saag also didn't taste that fresh...usually in a Saag paneer, the spinach blends with the other spices in the dish to create a unique flavor...in this case it just tasted like spinach and not so much like a Saag Paneer we'd had anywhere else. We also had the rice of the day, which came with some aromatics, peas and carrots. It honestly looked a little sad...the peas and carrots were not fresh (or abundant)...glancing at the biriyani on their website, which has a beautiful-looking, bright rice dish...this just didn't compare. We also had an order of plain naan, and this was really good. (Credit where credit is due.) There are a couple of other Indian places up here in the SCV, and we would pick them easily over what we were served here.

I liked this place... We ordered a lot of items.. I've listed out only a few here... I feel the chicken tikka flavors were not deep inside (due to less marination) and paneer could've been more soft. On the other side, all other items were of quality and taste. Seekh Kabob and their non alcoholic drink offerings were great. Would love to visit again.

I am going to start this with Indian food is not my favorite and rarely something I seek out. But sometimes things have a way of seeking you out. I happened by the great Indian kitchen and in the middle of a hangry experience. Gave it a shot on the weekend for lunch and will come back again and again. They have a $21 lunch buffet with so many choices. chicken, lamb vegan vegetable you name it they have something for you. I wasn't prepared to enjoy it as much as I did. If I was ready I would have taken more photos. The staff was very helpful and there were plenty of staff to help. They played Bollywood shows on tv and music videos. The buffet domes with soda and tea so drinks can be included or you can order something else. The chicken dishes and the rice were so good. I could still be there enjoying the garlic naan where every order is made fresh. This was a great find and it's easy to see why it is rated so high.

Five stars all around!! The lovely staff was so sweet and caring to my sister, who has Celiacs Disease, and came out to personally greet her and let her know which of their dishes/sauces were gluten friendly. Most of them were, which is a relief! Now, the star of the show--the food. This is hands down the best Indian food I've tried in all of SCV. We tried their Butter Chicken, Murg Biryani, Garlic Naan, and Masala Dosa. We shared between two people and had lots of leftovers! Butter Chicken: Perfectly creamy and sweet with a nice spiced tang as an aftertaste. I was scooping up the sauce with the savory garlic naan! So so delicious. Murg Biryani: This has a nice, savory, curry flavor and another spiced kick at the end! The chicken was perfectly tender and all pieces of white and dark meat for unique textural elements. Masala Dosa: Came with a myriad of creamy, tangy, and spicy sauces! This was a simple dish with peppered cooked potatoes encased in a crispy dough wrapping. So so delicious on its own, but the sauces really completed the dish! Garlic Naan: The perfectly cooked, stretchy and soft addition to the overall meal! Buttered, garlicky GREATNESS! Perfect for scooping up sauces with. 10/10. Overall, the staff, the attentiveness of both dine-in and take-out orders, and the food were all outstanding. I cannot wait to return to this establishment! A true gem of SCV. Thank you to the workers at Great Indian Kitchen for being so generous and welcoming to my party of all different diets and orders!!

When you dine here you are in a family owned and operated restaurant with recipes handed down from grandma. No dyes in the food and food are instead full of flavor made fresh daily. Service was five star and the overall feel makes you think you are home I was surprised they make there deserts on premise even the ice cream . Music is a little loud but then it's part of what makes this place fun.

    03/16/2026 - Gol Gappe (8 Pieces) $9.95
    Teri C.

After a long day at Six Flags Magic Mountain, we wanted a full sit down meal and Great Indian Kitchen had some amazing reviews. We were greeted with complimentary crackers and some kind of chutney. It was really good and we enjoyed it! I have never received any kind of complimentary item at an Indian restaurant to welcome us, so this started off a great note. And the tasty chutney really set the tone as well. * Gol Gappe (8 pieces) $9.95 - We've had variations of this dish but what really stood out was their sour and spicy mint flavored water. That is beyond delicious! I literally drank it all up and have been trying desperately to find recipes on how to make it. It was SO good. * Masala Dosa $15.95 - This was pretty good and it's served with a spiced potato curry. We ended up ordering a second one. * Lamb Curry $19.95 - This was good stuff on basmati rice or with naan. * Bhindi Ki Sabzi $17.95 - It was our first time having this classic Punjabi dish and it was good as well. * Garlic Naan $4.95 * Basmati $6.95 Food overall was really enjoyable and I think often of that flavored water that accompanied the gol gappe. Service was okay. We sat at a rectangular four top and I found it annoying how the younger server would bring items over my shoulder when there was a more obvious open space for him to serve us. I think this is a basic training issue that could be fixed. There is a 3% surcharge for using credit cards. 4.5 stars

We drove out from Burbank on a perfect, light traffic Memorial Day evening, based on the great reviews, and they didn't disappoint! It's a cute little place with Bollywood clips on one tv and Cricket on another. Service was good and great conversation with the charming Manu. We had a delicious Dahi Puri, Samosas, chicken Tikka Madala, Chicken Korma, Basmati and Naan. Everything was great, and my wife even proclaimed it was maybe the best Korma, ever! This is a little gem that I highly recommend!

Wow. It's difficult to come by good Indian food, but this place is really good. Went around 3 pm, after buffet style was over. Restaurant had one other person inside, service was quick and attentive. Interior was decent and had some hanging plants around the sides. Let's get to the food. Started off with some little fried like chips with a garlic paste sauce that was on the house, really tasty! Vegetable Samosa - 10/10 DELICIOUS! Spiced absolutely perfectly! Genuinely really good, and the sauce was extremely tasty (really loved the red one specifically, I think it's tamarind?). Interesting shape too. I wish you guys would make chicken samosas too, could take it to a 10000/10! Lamb Saag - 8/10 Really good! The lamb was quite good, not chewy (which is hard to come by). Could have been a little more tender, and the sauce itself could have been a bit creamier, but very solid. Garlic naan - 9/10 It's good garlic naan, enough said! Onion Kulcha - 8/10 Tasty onion kulcha! Lachha Paratha - 8/10 Good buttery flaky bread Ginger Ice Cream - 10/10 GET THIS, SO GOOD! Didn't expect to like it as I don't particularly care for ginger, but both gf and I LOVED IT! Get this! Kheer - 3/10 (GF rating 8/10) Never had this before, but for a rice pudding was not expecting this. Was extremely watery, like soupy. Definitely thought it would be thicker. Cardamom flavor was far too strong as well, not my thing. Gf loved it though! In fact she thought it paired great with the ginger ice cream.

Still the best Indian food in SCV. The servers are always so friendly and the restaurant feels like you've taken a trip to India. Absolutely love this place.

I went to the lunch buffet here last summer because I kept seeing the signage and wanted to try it out. The building was pretty spacious. Seats weren't densely packed so it feels like there is a lot of room. I came on and got seated immediately. The buffet had a lot of vegetarian/vegan options. I went for the vegetable biryani, saag paneer, chicken pakora, chicken tikka masala, lamb vindaloo, and vegetable korma. Garlic naan was not a part of the buffet spread but was delivered separately by the waiter. It had a good garlic flavor and was warm but not too buttery. I liked the vegetable biryani and the vegetable korma. The korma was tender and very flavorful. The saag paneer tasted a bit off to me and my first plate of chicken masala was a bit dry. After they refilled the chicken masala, I got another serving and it was much better and more tender. They also had a small desert selection but it was nothing to write home about. I also saw a dead cockroach outside the bathroom door but I think it just crawled in from outside to escape the heat and died. Overall I think what makes this place attractive is the value. The buffet is pretty affordable and allows you to fill yourself up with a variety of food.

Pro tip: bring cash as they charge a 3% surcharge on the final amonut (after tax and tip) for credit cards This is an affordable spot for Indian lunch buffet with delicious food! They offer the lunch buffet 11-3 everyday. When we went on Tuesday around noon, it wasn't that crowded with only 2-3 other tables occupied. On weekdays, the buffet costs $17.95 per person and comes with your choice of chai or soft drink. On weekends (Fri to Sun), it costs $19.95 per person, and in addition to the chai or soft drink, you can opt for a glass of champagne as well. They had a good selection of veg and non-veg dishes along with an assortment of chutneys and raita. On the day I went, they had the following mains, to give you an idea of their selection: biryani - vegetarian and chicken chicken tikka masala chicken curry fish vindaloo tandoori chicken dal makhani rajma (kidney bean) shahi paneer mixed veg curry pakora - veg and chicken My favorites were the chicken tikka masala, the chicken curry, the rajma / kidney bean curry, and the mixed veg curry. The tandoori chicken was good as well. As for the others, the fish vindaloo was too spicy for me, the dal makhani bland, and the gravy for the shahi paneer was too sweet. You can also order plain or garlic naan to eat with lunch in addition to the basmati rice and poori available at the buffet. They offer fresh fruit, so I ended my meal with orange slices, but they also have Indian desserts like kheer (rice pudding) and halwa. Service was good. Because it was never super busy in the restaurant, the servers checked on us often and collected finished plates. They also refilled waters / soft drinks quickly as well.

If I could give 6 stars, I would. Sahej was so hospitable, greeted us as soon as we walked in and got the 6 of us sat. We felt like family-- and every single item we ordered on the menu was made with the utmost care, bursting with flavor. We ordered so many things to family-style-- and I can confidently say you can't go wrong with any of it here. The ambiance is a beautifully, warm lit atmosphere with bursts of color (pictured)-- I love how much thoughtfulness is placed in the space. Wheelchair accessible, located in a strip mall with tons of parking. We came here after our Six Flags trip and plan to make this our stop on the way home every time we go! Thank you so much, Great Indian Kitchen!

I only stopped by for a quick takeout order, but I have to say the service was great. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, even though I was just picking up food to go. I ordered the aloo tikki appetizer, and it was okay, not bad, but not something that really stood out to me. I'd still like to come back and give this place another try because the service definitely left a good impression.

that's hot chai in the back and rose milk tea!

There were so many that they actually got onto me and inside my clothing. I believe I was even bitten. I immediately jumped up and started trying to get the ants off me, and I actually had to take off my shirt because ants had gotten inside it. What happened next made the situation even more upsetting. As soon as the employee saw what was happening, she quickly came over and started cleaning the seat before I could properly take pictures showing how many ants were there. Even after she cleaned the area, there were still ants on the seat, and I was able to take pictures of them. I explained how serious and uncomfortable the situation was and specifically asked to speak with the manager. The manager did not even come out to speak with me. Instead, the employee told me that I could tell her what I wanted to say and she would tell the manager for me. I find that extremely unprofessional. If a customer is complaining that ants from your seating area got onto their body and inside their clothes, the very least a manager could do is come out and speak to the customer directly. Their solution was to tell me that they could give me food to go. However, I was there for the all-you-can-eat option, so telling me to take food to go was not an appropriate solution. After discovering ants crawling on me and inside my clothing, I obviously did not feel comfortable sitting back down and continuing to eat. I understand that problems can happen at any restaurant, but how you handle the problem matters. There was no manager willing to come speak with me, no reasonable resolution was offered, and I felt like the situation was being brushed aside instead of taken seriously. I have pictures showing ants that were still on the seating area even after the employee cleaned it. This was an extremely uncomfortable and unacceptable experience, and the lack of professionalism from management made it even worse. Based on my experience with both the cleanliness of the seating area and the way my complaint was handled, I would absolutely not recommend this location.

We got a few things and shared them with my family of 4. Everything was pretty good! The highlights for me are always the fish, fries, abs Brussel sprouts. This time we added a couple side Cesar salads and the garlic toast. The salads were a good size for the add on price. The toast was a little soft but the flavor was good. Always get the green goddess and Cajun sauces. Yum! The staff was nice too. CFG has always provided consistent quality and value no matter which location I visit.

As good or better than the lobster tail truck that pops up at events. The second time we ate here we had the salmon & swai combo and the everything protein bowl. The salmon was nice and moist but the swai fish was just a so-so taste. I ordered the everything protein bowl with no chilis, but it came with jalapeños. My salmon was dry, the chicken was a little dry, the swai fish tasted so-so, and the shrimp was cooked nicely, but a tinge spicy for my taste. You can order on the app or use the kiosk screen at the register, or if a cashier is there, you can order from them. When you put your cell number down, they'll text you when it's ready to pick up. But they'll bring it to your table if you're eating in. You can tip them when you place your order. They'll pick up your plates too.

I stopped in to grab takeout for my husband and me and was told the order wouldn't take long. The server was helpful and answered all my questions, so I felt good about the order: clam chowder, half-order lemon pepper wings, a catfish dinner with an extra side of shrimp, and grilled salmon with two sauces on the side (and cooked medium). After waiting 45 minutes--which already felt excessive for this order--I decided to check the food. I'm glad I did. The salmon was overcooked (well done instead of medium) with the sauce already poured on top. The lemon pepper wings had barely any seasoning, like it was added after they were already dry. And they completely forgot the shrimp. The server took everything back to fix it, but that took another 30 minutes. By then, my husband's catfish (and for $19, you only get one filet) and his cheddar side were cold, and the Caesar salad was wilted and warm. When the salmon finally came back--after another 20 minutes--it was still overcooked, now rock hard, and completely unseasoned. It felt like they were relying on sauce to do all the work, but even that missed the mark. The shrimp also tasted like pre-packaged frozen, not fresh. Nearly $90 later, we didn't enjoy any part of the meal. I'd suggest sticking to the boil if you come here, because based on this experience, everything else fell short.

The service was excellent, and all of the staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout our entire visit. Our drinks were constantly being refilled, and the staff regularly checked in to make sure we were doing well. You can really tell they care about their customers. We all really enjoyed our meals. I ordered the burger, and it was delicious--great flavor and cooked just right. My kids loved their meals as well, especially the chicken tenders and fries and the mac & cheese. The drink I had was definitely hit the spot! LOL. And the dessert was a 10/10. I absolutely love crème brûlée, and that's definitely my weakness. We also loved the atmosphere. The restaurant is very well taken care of, updated, clean, and has a really welcoming feel. We will definitely be coming back to try some of the other dishes! Thank you so much for making us feel welcome. Great service can be hard to find nowadays, and we truly appreciated the wonderful experience. Highly recommend!

I returned one month later to try the Duck Confit Poutine that I'd been thinking about since my…read morefirst visit, only to find that they have changed their menu for the season, and said duck dish has flown away. I was disappointed to say the least, but cannot hold that against the still-fantastic staff that whipped up another fantastic martini and welcomed me with smiles and warm hellos. With poutine off the list, I opted for the Kalbi Tacos: corn tortillas very generously topped with Hoisin Braised Short Rib, Candied Cashews, Serranos, Kimchi Carrot Slaw, and a Sweet Chili Aioli that I asked for on the side. Though billed as a starter, these 2 tacos are quite substantial and make a satisfying meal -- especially because of the richness of the beef, which has a full-bodied, Asian flavor I found really appealing. The heat from the Serrano peppers did a good job of cutting the sweetness of the Hoisin, and the combination of Kimchi Slaw and Candied Cashews added a nice crunch. I"m glad to have gotten the aioli on the side, as a little dab on a few of the bites was enough for me to try, and I found the tacos to be rich enough without it -- but don't get me wrong, the ailoi had a nice flavor and you might be all in. The other recent change is the unfortunate fire that took away several buildings across the street from the restaurant, including an historic theater. People at the bar, and generally around town, are really feeling the loss, and it's the right time to show your support for the businesses and the community. Even if the poutine has vanished for the time being, I'll be back soon to try something else interesting from the menu of very interesting choices. (The fried chicken mac & cheese served to my neighbor at the bar was looking spectacular!)
