The restaurant itself isn't that large but a good family sized restaurant with about 16 tables (many seating 4 with some 2s and a larger group table). Service is pretty attentive with the water refills. The buffet selection is not that large compared to East India or Ivory but it definitely offers enough for any Indian food fan to be satisfied. Some of the dishes aren't kept as hot (temperature wise), it felt lukewarm as it seemed like some dishes had been sitting there for a while. Other than that, for $12.99, I have no issues with this place! The best dishes are actually the vegetarian ones. The palak paneer was smooth, creamy and had a little kick to and great seasoning. The eggplant bhartha has great flavour and the most delicious potatoes. The vegetable korma was also rich and creamy. The butter chicken was okay - it's average, not that flavourful. The shrimp curry suffered a bit from sitting in the buffet pan as the last few shrimps I got were stringy. The spicy chicken was in a bright red sauce, though it didn't taste that spicy to me it had some good flavours going there. The vegetable samosa is baked, the pastry is a bit too thick for my liking but the filling is pretty good. The plain naan is included, a nice perk as many places charge extra. The naan tasted like it was baked as well and not made in a tandor oven so it tasted more like westernized flat bread. This place is located in a stripmall, so look for the Dairy Queen that's across from Samosa Crown on Keewaitin.

My cousins first introduced us to Punjab during our visit last summer. And since then - my sister and I have been craving for them. We have been fortunate to have the family visit us this week. They brought us a whole box full of Samosas. The Samosas are like huge fried wontons with a mixture of potatoes, spices and CURRY. And the red sauce is a tamarind sauce with a perfect blend of sweet and spicy. HEAVENLY (and deadly fried) appetizers.

Story time: At first I thought it (the order) was a mistake because I ordered off of door dash and the bag it came in was just an unmarked plastic bag; so I reordered but received the same thing. I was disappointed given that I was expecting 8 individual samosas (as shown on the Bengali sweets website), so I gave the store a call. When the owner picked up, he was nothing short of rude and expressed that he couldn't explain anything over the phone and that I should come to the store in person. I was free so I made the trip and when I went, he made no attempt to explain or rectify the misunderstanding, he was rude and patronizing (saying I am ignorant and don't understand the culture because I'm not Bengali which may be true but I did my research so I thought the comment was rather offensive), and he was trash talking me and a fellow customer (who stood up to him for me when he made me cry) to a customer who walked in during all of this. In total, me and another customer (who had insisted on buying the 8 samosas I tried to order) spent 1.5 hours at the store waiting for the food on the owner's promise that the food would take "five more minutes". I wish this experience hadn't happened because me and my community genuinely love the food there but the owner's behaviour and actions are hard to ignore.
