Trout Haven Fishing Pond - Ice fishing available!

    Trout Haven Fishing Pond

    (35 reviews)

What a fun experience! Traveling from out of state, I wanted to have a little fishing on my trip…read morewithout having to bring any gear and not having to purchase a CO Fishing License. They have everything you need and it's so easy to just walk out and start fishing some stocked rainbows. The staff were super friendly and helpful. My gf and I visited on a very cold, windy February morning when they opened. It ended up just being the two of us on the ice and this was our first experience ice fishing (and it won't be our last). We had an amazing time and spent an hour exploring the different holes in the ice. The fish were hungry and I realized there was an absolute MONSTER rainbow in there. I was trying so hard to catch it. I hooked him up 3 different times and each time, it broke the line (I'm thinking the knots tied weren't legit fisherman's knots but whatever). I was obsessed trying to catch that massive fish but didn't come away with it. Still caught a personal best at 16'' while my bucket of fish and gear was blowing across the ice due to the wind. Everything is catch and keep, no releasing, so all fish will be brought back into the hut to be prepared. They'll clean the fish for you and if you aren't ready to take any fish filets with you, they'll happily donate them to people in need. Highly recommend visiting for beginners. Also recommend for experienced anglers who want a relaxed, fun environment. I WILL BE BACK TO CATCH THAT MONSTER.

TROUT HAVEN IS THE DEFINITION OF A TOURIST TRAP!!!…read more I specifically asked an employee to explain the pricing before we started. I asked, "So we can donate the fish?" He said, "Correct." What he didn't explain is that you pay for EVERY fish caught--even the ones you "donate" back to them. We brought six kids. One son caught 17 fish by himself in 45 minutes. Staff watched us fill buckets without saying a word as our bill climbed to nearly $400. Using the word "donate" is INTENTIONALLY MISLEADING. You're not donating anything--you're buying fish and giving them back to the business. In my opinion, this pricing model is PREDATORY and relies on tourists and families not understanding the rules until they're standing at the register. If your kids have the (virtually guaranteed) experience of catching (likely multiple) fish, prepare to pay dearly for it.

Although we didn't catch as much as we hoped, Kyle made this a truly memorable experience for the two of us. When your gamer son says "I know we only caught three fish, but this was a great time!" you know it was a success! We made reservations only a couple days prior by calling their office line. Nicole quickly made the reservation and provided all of the basic info needed to prepare for the trip. Within minutes I had a text with trip details: where to meet, when, tips on what to wear and how to get a fishing license. A very good and efficient reservation experience. We fished on a partially covered pontoon. This was my first experience trolling. Such a different experience from fly fishing. I loved our two fly fishing experiences; I found it to be highly meditative. But this was equally enjoyable. Riding around the lake, seeing different views of the beautiful scenery was quite enjoyable. We encountered some inclement weather, but that didn't deter Kyle. He brought us back to the dock where we fished for char. My son caught a rather large one! And we got to watch a heavy rain pass distant mountains, a beautiful site. The clouds passed and Kyle had us back on the lake where I caught a trout. All in all a wonderful afternoon down with my son and Kyle. We'll be back again!

Kyle is an exceptional guide and boat captain. His knowledge of the lakes, trout behavior, and where the fish were actively feeding was incredible. Thanks to his expertise, we caught our limit both days and landed four beautiful species of trout: Brown, Lake, Rainbow, and Brook trout. It was more success than we ever imagined! What really sets Kyle apart is how hard he works to make sure everyone has a memorable day on the water. He was patient, encouraging, professional, and always focused on helping us catch fish while making the experience enjoyable. Whether you're an experienced angler or it's your first time fishing, you'll learn from him and have a fantastic time. If you're considering a guided trip in the Estes Park or Grand Lake area, don't hesitate to book with Kyle. We can't recommend him highly enough and will definitely be fishing with him again on our next trip to Colorado. Thank you, Kyle, for memories we'll treasure for years to come!

Adventures in Whitewater is a great company with great employees!…read more My girlfriend and I went on the Colorado River (Class II to III) rafting trip and had a great time. This was the only option available because it was September and water levels were too low for the other higher class trips. Regardless, we had a blast and our guide Keagan was amazing. After checking in at the office, it was about a 20-25 minute van ride to the launch site. After going through safety instructions, we were on our way down the river. It was a really mellow section with very little actual "whitewater rafting", and more of a float. Keagan was spitting off facts and talking to everyone the whole time which was great. Very informative and personable. Along the way we stopped at a natural hot spring and everyone got out of the rafts and "warmed up" in the warm water. Right after that, we hopped back in the rafts and floated just a little further down to a cliff jumping spot. I can't remember how high it was (approx 40-50ft?) but 5 of us did it. Keagan jumped too, and gave us all instructions on jumping safely. After that the trip wrapped up pretty quickly, loaded everything into the van and headed back. It was a great trip and I'm happy we chose them over some of the larger companies. We always like to support small business when possible. Yes, I would highly recommend using Adventures in Whitewater for your next rafting trip in CO.

The ride went smooth and we were able to hit class III and IV rapids on Clear Creek for about 13 miles! It was affordable and great for the whole family.
