We hired ISF to insulate the walls on our 1901 house. Previously they did a great job insulating the attic, because we weren't ready for the walls at that time. The crew arrived on time, discussed the procedure and immediately began work. I was a little concerned about the process, but everything went smoothly. They worked through brutal cold and 35 MPH winds. They were awesome! Our siding and windows are about 4 years old and it was important to me that it all stayed in good condition. Most of the insulation was being applied from the outside of the house by removing sections of siding and drilling holes through the sheathing. All the siding was reinstalled and looked just like it did when it was new. The crew was meticulous in wiping down any over-spray and keeping the job site clean. On the inside the had some areas that needed to be foamed through the existing drywall. They carefully drilled holes and covered all adjacent areas with protective plastic . Afterward their drywall guy plastered all the holes leaving them smooth for us to finish as promised. We had several original walls with zero insulation and the noise from outside was always an issue. Now I notice how quiet the inside of the house has become. The next day after the install, the temperature was 16 degrees and we had snow. The furnace is easily maintaining the heat inside without running excessively. We have a smart thermostat and I am anxious to compare this year's heating/cooling costs to the previous year. We have a 4 year old high efficiency gas furnace and air conditioner. A couple of months ago we experienced a record cold wave that forced our furnace to run for 48 hours straight just to maintain 68 degrees in the house! Hopefully that never happens again. We have noticed the foam has stopped the air leakage around windows and receptacles. The crew consisted of diligent workers that kept us informed, did great work, and left the job site in good order. The integrity of this company's ethics is questionable. I would write a FULL review but it's too fucking exhausting to write about all the shitty job they did in our newly built home. The positive reviews are influenced by the workers who solicit the reviews, providing a 1-sheet with instructions and names to include in the review because they received a monetary incentive from Indiana Spray Foam. Do RECONSIDER this company. Thoroughly research them, and ensure you understand every detail of the work you are paying for, especially in the event that the work goes awry and develops MOLD. Discuss expenses--like who will cover them--and make sure every detail is in writing and signed by Mike Young; you might as well get his direct contact while you're at it, otherwise he will avoid you 100%. read more

**THEY BLOCK NEGATIVE REVIEWS, DO NOT HONOR WARRANTY OR KEEP THEIR WORD**** Looks like they do a great job when joists are exposed,  but with our drywalled 20 year old home, different story.  They never even looked at my attic or walk out basement when they did the estimate. The day of install they couldn't do the Southern wall of my home,  which catches the wind and needs it the most, but said they could do the other 3 sides,  but also said without inspection that we didn't need to worry about the attic.  So 6 months later in winter,  I contact them that my kitchen floors are ice cold.  I went out and bought a thermal imaging camera that showed nothing but cold areas behind my kitchen walls... their guy came out and told me my backsplash walls were cold because my cabinets above them were closed.  uhhhh no... Now I'm having my master bathroom remodeled. TWO EXTERIOR WALLS have little to no foam in them AT ALL.  I am BEYOND angry and have asked for at least a partial refund since I now have photographs showing the only wall that even partially foamed was an inside wall with our plumbing in it and almost 10k is a lot to spend for a job not done properly.  Halfway doesn't cut it in my world and I don't give fourth chances to a company that's not done the job right from estimate to install. I filled a complaint with the BBB and Illinois Attorney General about this and they offered me a partial refund in early November which they haven't honored, they've taken down honest reviews and blocked people on social media so now we're taking them to court. read more

In October 2024 we had spray insulation added through an exterior wall in our kitchen and through an interior wall in our basement. While doing the exterior wall application there was a 3 inch cut made into the drain pipe from our kitchen which was also used by the unit upstairs from us. The interior application in the basement was applied to the interior wall. It kept the heat out and the cold in. The drain pipe leaked and because of the insulation from the heat in the basement, the pipe froze. We were out of town, the unit above was home and using their kitchen. The result was a back up into our kitchen which caused extensive damage to our walls, basement ceiling and hardwood floors. We are remodeling the kitchen and will now correctly insulate the pipes and we are having our floors refinished. Indiana Spray Foam feels no responsibility for the costs we are facing because of their poor workmanship. They refunded the cost of the initial application but that is minimal to what we are now paying. Avoid them. They are ghosting us and their replies are quite nasty. read more

Everyone was super nice and professional but we do feel like we got ripped off. During our first inspection, we were told our space that was being sprayed would feel 80% different and would feel like 'night and day'. It did NOT. We had them come back out and almost immediately they told us it didn't feel that way because the cold air was coming up through the floors - and essentially not something they could fix. While they did fine work, we feel like this should have been mentioned upfront if it is a common issue. We would not have spent nearly 4K if we knew the floor was the issue. We recently did an addition to our barn. After much research we chose Indiana spray foam. They did an excellent job. However there was miscommunication on one small aspect. We told them about it. They sent their manager (Jay) out and he repaired the problem expertly and quickly. I would never consider using another company for spray foam. read more

They sold me on their product, ran my credit, removed a line of siding, drilled holes all the way around my house and then told me they couldn't install due to the type of barrier I had. First, I asked when we first talked and they said they did homes like mine all the time. Second, wouldn't they have known after the first hole if they were truely professionals at their craft? The tech admitted that he didn't have the proper tooling with him to complete the job. Now the integrity of the already lacking insulation I have is comprised. Very disappointed. read more

I had called the Lowell location and nothing but excellent service from the initial contact (a female), to the estimator, and then the actual project. I personally had closed cell insulation installed in my upstairs bedrooms and then open cell in the downstairs kitchen area of a 3500 sq ft cottage in Rolling Prairie. Out of the 4 companies I called to come out, this was by far the most professional and was the same rate as the company that wouldn't return my call after the estimate. Would use again and would recommend to others. Indiana Spray Foam provided excellent service at every step of process and accommodated my somewhat difficult schedule. Their attention to detail is excellent. Extra care was taken around delicate house features and there was attentive clean up after the job. For my situation--an old house with a walk up attic that had never been insulated--going with a spray foam made a huge difference. The links below my review, show damage on my home. My husband and I hired Indiana Spray Foam to perform work on our home. Prior to actually hiring them, I specifically asked about their experience with applying spray foam to a home with cedar siding. I was concerned about how it would look when the job was completed. I'd been reassured that the siding would look fine, and having cedar siding wasn't going to affect the way they do the work. The siding is damaged on every side of my home, two complete rows on each side of the house. You can clearly see each piece the employees cut and removed. You can even see where they miscalculated and cut pieces which shouldn't have been cut or removed. Each piece was nailed back up, and finished by caulking the cracks on all 4 sides, as well as caulking over each nail used. Some of the cut pieces cracked off and were left that way. There are at least 5 nails and staples in each piece, and many of the pieces were nailed in further than they should have been, creating an uneven surface. It looks absolutely horrible! I sent two emails to the owner of the company before getting any response. I finally received a response after notifying them of my intentions to report them with BBB and file a civil suit. I have given them a chance to settle the matter professionally, by repairing the damage, or refunding the amount we paid so we can replace the damaged siding. Indiana Spray Foam owner, Mike Young, advertises in Lowell, In & Crown Point, In. His ONLY response to my email states the following, "We used the least invasive way to perform the work done on your home, according to industry standards." Well, the industry must have pretty low standards because he felt this work was acceptable. I'm curious, what would his reaction be if this were HIS home?! Mike, the owner, refuses to accept responsibility for the damage his workers caused. He sent an employee to my home - unannounced, and uninvited - to convince me not to pursue my complaint, (I found that completely unprofessional and unacceptable.)
