Stay away from this company. After trying to get a clarification for an appointment Leeann(office manager) got very defensive and would not offer a time to come out. Claiming they may or may not come for the appointment. Very rude! Edit: They offered to come out today, when asked what time they said after noon. Asked to be given a call an hour before so I can make arrangements and head over to meet them, but was told "we'll call you if we are coming out". Why suggest an appointment that you cannot confirm? Unacceptable. Also, asked to to speak to another person in regards of the situation and were told the person was in surgery, yet here we are getting a reply from the owner within a few minutes. Do not use this company if you want professional customer service and prompt results. The tech that came to the house was great. He was professional and prompt. The issue with this company is Leanne. She is extraordinarily unprofessional, argumentative, and confrontational. About a month ago, we had a tech come out and conduct testing on a Wednesday and said we would get the results two days later. He said he was unable to take payment that day and that we should call to do so. We called that day and got no answer, so we left a voicemail. We never received a call that Friday, so we called that day and again left a voicemail. We called again the following week and left yet another voicemail. None of these voicemails were returned. Today, a month later, Leanne finally called us and told us the results are ready and they wanted their payment. We returned the phone call and left a voicemail (because, again, no one answered). In our voicemail, we articulated that we felt this process was unprofessional and unnecessarily lengthy. Leanne, for once, quickly returned that call and wasted no time accusing us (the customers) for the lack of communication. She was very confrontational and accusatory. The company has the wrong email address on file and when my wife corrected her, she said "I find it funny that you said you left voicemails and that I somehow have your email address incorrect." Naturally, my wife asked why the company didn't call us if we weren't responding to emails. Leanne's response was "Well, I could say I called you like you're 'claiming' you called me." Think about that. What customer service representative says something like that to a customer? She was insulted when we said we haven't had any communication from them. She said "I've worked here for 10 years and I return everyone's phone call." Look, we don't know who works there. We don't know Leanne from Adam. We don't care who returns our calls. We wanted a service to tell us if we have mold in our home and that's not what we got with this company. Leanne is the reason we have no interest in doing business with this company. We would have been willing to pay the full price and maybe even purchase more services, should the results have revealed something dangerous. We gained nothing from this. We never received results and lost a day of pay for having to take off work to be home for tech. I'm sure she'll jump on here and lash out at this review, but so be it. I hope anyone who reads this reconsiders using them and calls another company. read more

Ed was awesome. I was calling him for a second opinion after I experienced some mold related allergies issues. First company quoted me between $3300-$4400 for cleaning and demo. Ed told me I didn't need a mold company at all. Ed identified the small spots missed by the company that remediated after the flood in May. The he told me how to correct them. (He said they did a B+ job.) He also identified drywall that should have come out initially. Both of these issues were missed by the company that quoted me $4400. After all that, Ed wished me well and left. It is so rare to find HONEST people these days. When you do, you want to scream it from the rooftops. Based on my experience with Ed and Mold Solutions, if you call them and they tell you that you need work done, have it done because they don't tell you things just to get your money. I did indeed have mold in my house but instead of fear tactics, they explained everything I can do and everything they can do. My husband and I recently purchased our first home - a 100 year old dollhouse in downtown St. Charles. The former owner did a semi-conversion of the garage, and my husband decided to set up his office in there since we only have one car and as former city folk, are just thrilled to have a freaking driveway. Twice this year I have needed them, and both times I have received excellent service. When my wife and I bought our house in March we knew we had black mold from the inspection, we have them out to quote us and as soon as the weather permitted they came out and remediated the mold for us. Due to hail damage we had a leak in the garage attic and black mold went crazy in there, they were out and fixed it up very quickly once again. These guys are the best! We had a mold problem in our semi-finished basement of a 2800 square foot home, but weren't sure of the severity of it, nor how to fix it. On the recommendation of our long-time trusted realtor, we had Ed from Mold Solutions come to our home. He has been doing this for about 15 years and knows his stuff. He diagnosed the problem quickly, recommended a cost-effective solution which involved simply cleaning the carpet and fabrics on furniture. He referred us to a carpet/fabric cleaning company and didn't even make any money on us until we had him come back to do the mold test. The results were stellar. Problem solved! Ed was knowledgeable and honest, clear in his explanations, and time efficient. If we ever had a mold problem, we would only call this company! FYI, prior to Mold Solutions, we had another unnamed highly rated (on yelp anyway) mold testing and diagnostic firm out to look at our situation. Unfortunately they were costly with their testing, unclear, uncertain and not very knowledgeable about what actions to take. Go with Mold Solutions and Ed! We just had a mold inspection for a home we're selling, per the request of the buyer. There was a bit of mold present in the home, and the inspector went on a rampage in front of the buyer making it seem like it was the worst thing in the world. The inspector (Adam) was INCREDIBLY rude to my wife, who is the realtor for the home, blaming her for the mold as if she had anything to do with it. Completely unprofessional, disgusting attitude. When she suggested she will get second opinion from another mold company, he became very defensive and said they probably won't be certified (???). Your job is to find mold if it's present and create a report. Not to trash on the house, aggressively attack the real estate agent and try to scare the buyers into purchasing your removal services immediately by essentially claiming that they and their children will die if they don't hire you immediately. We will definitely never, ever use this company in our own home remodel projects, and I will be passing this onto all the investors I know in the area and anyone else. He wasn't pushy on the phone either like some others i called. He arrived early for the appt and went straight to the issue of mold in the attic that we had found. After thorough review of the area and looking in my basement he advised against opening up the walls as it was probably not worth the cost and chances of mold would be slim. After 28 years in our house, we decided to downsize. As we started to clean out a cluttered finished (but mostly unused) basement we came upon one area that was a real mess. As we started to remove this mess, we realized that some water seepage has created a larger issue that would need to be addressed before listing the house for sale. I have not enough good words to say. Adam listened to my story on the phone and we set up an appointment. I already had mold tests done that told me I had Penicillin growing in my wall, though a small amount and a hint of it in the air. My family had been having allergy symptoms and we don't have allergies. We had only lived in this home a short time and it was built in 1928. I was concerned that there might be mold growing in the walls through out the front of the house. I do have a couple of known leaks. Any number of things could have happened including taking out some wall to see and possibly a large estimate that I need a ton of work done. Adam examined the area. Looked in attic, read the results and told me.......... I needed to do nothing! Well, I needed to buy a product and wash up the area after I treat it, but no big work, no cutting out my walls. My issue was not really an issue and something that is quite within normal limits and for the age of the house not at all unusual. He explained mold growth in a house the age of mine, what to look for in the future and totally put my mind at ease. Better yet, no charge to come out. There are so many great companies out there and an equal as many cheats. I was so worried when you have a subject you know nothing about.
