Perfect on the car ride home, minimal whining when crated, perfect on a leash, very gentle with our grandson - completely calm around loud noises, such as the thunder we experienced this morning. As far as the negative reviews, all I can say is the current owner, Chris, is the farthest thing from what people say about the old owner. He was passionate about the dogs, extremely patient with my wife and me - answering all our questions, including any "negatives" that may impact our decision. All the dogs we saw were happy, well-behaved, and energetic. The store and training room were both very clean. We could not be happier with our puppy, or our experience with Von Dietrich.

After many attempts at finding someone who could help with our previous dog she agreed to try and was a true blessing. Our dog never loved it (always hated it in fact) but he could get through it with little issues and be groomed. Our current rescue has different struggles but Pam has been willing to work with us again and that is much appreciated. Grooming is a hard business and yet all of our rescue pets deserve kind treatment and she can provide it!

This was a great experience for all of us, we learned a lot and Theo definitely did too! Every week we practiced new tricks and tactics and our instructor was so knowledgeable and helpful. They also ended the several-week program with a fun obstacle course that earned our graduation! We each did it one at a time and cheered our classmates on. This was a fun environment for learning with my first pet as an adult. They also have a grooming service that we have been using ever since. Ms. Pam is responsive and we schedule appointments over text. For a nail trimming, bath, and full trim is around $40 and she accepts cash or check. Since I live on the south side of downtown, this is a great affordable option compared for pricier options closer by. It's definitely worth the easy drive to Beech Grove.

Andrew spent an hour or two at the house, observing the dogs and talking to us about what we were hoping to accomplish relative to what he was seeing. Before leaving, he gave us a couple of simple things to work on prior to the start of our consecutive board-and-train sessions two weeks later. Frankie and Ellie are now back with us and while they still have enormous amounts of energy, their ability to respond to commands, walk with a loose leash (zero pulling) and maintain their "place" is incredible! Selective use of the e-collars has even allowed us to redirect their attention in the midst of their loudest, most raucous roughhousing episodes. We can't recommend Andrew enough. He has a way that brings about significant behavioral changes in the dogs while building the confidence of owners: it's amazing to witness the transformations. I remembered they told us at drop off to just IM through Facebook to check up on him. So I sent a message and within 5 minutes got a response! Charlie knows all his basic commands, and astonishes people everyday with his listening skills! On top of Brad being a great trainer - we now use him for boarding as well. Since hiring Brad last winter to train Charlie as a 2 month old puppy, Charlie has gone to stay at Brad's while we've been out of town. AND HE LOVES IT SO MUCH! Brad has two dogs of his own which Charlie loves to play with, and has access to wonderful doggie door to go outside. It's like dog heaven for him. It's sad but true, that Charlie never seems to want to come home after Brad's because he loves it so much. But we can't blame him! Additionally, Brad went above and beyond during our last trip - as Charlie had a last minute surgery scheduled before we were going to be leaving the country. Brad ensured us that we wouldn't need to change our trip plans and he would do all the running around to and from the vet with Charlie, and take care of him post-op.... ISNT THAT AMAZING? Not a lot of people would probably volunteer to do that. And we felt very safe with Charlie in Brad's care. HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

There are things I like and things I don't like. Bad news first. They try to keep you with the same…read moregroomer which can be good, but it does make it harder to get an appointment because you have to wait for your groomer to call you back. I haven't experienced the rudeness that has been shared in review from other patrons, but they are very busy so they tend to sacrifice some niceties in favor of efficiency. I've found that they are super nice though if I start with an acknowledgement of how busy they are, or a compliment on my baby's last haircut. The good news is that they are conveniently located, they make the best effort to get you an appointment that works with your schedule, they are reasonably priced, and I haven't ever been unhappy with the results. Pricing was a big issue for me because I have a poodle that needs to be groomed more often. At other salons, I could only afford twice a year, and I was doing a home haircut in between. Needless to say that was not my baby's best look. At this salon, I feel like I can call and make an appointment when my baby needs it, and not worry about the price. So I've bumped him up to three haircuts a year, and I'm thinking about making it four and just scheduling them ahead to avoid the rush of trying to get him in at a convenient time.
