I've had such a great experience with their office! So far I've had my initial appointment/cleaning and my fillings. They are very welcoming! They explain things thoroughly. Dr. Ingram doesn't rush whenever he has to come in to me! I couldn't be more happy with the services I've received! They are transparent as well! They walk you through everything and will show you images, videos etc to make sure you understand what's going on! I've been to about four different sets of dentists mainly because I am always mobile across the country. During COVID, I was working from my home state despite living in PA. This caused concerns because I wanted to begin Invisalign treatment but was unsure because I could not afford or wanted to travel back and forth for monthly Invisalign check-ups as I had been advised by a dentist office here in PHL. I expressed my concern to Dr. Ingram and team, and they set the best treatment plan to accommodate me and my services. By working together, they informed me that I did not have to be seen every month since Invisalign is self-directed. They gave me enough trays until I could be seen in person, and we got through the process on time and without hassle. Aside from the ortho treatment, the Indy dental design team is one of the best. When I had my bi-annual check-up for the first time there, they made me feel comfortable and just seemed happy to be there- thought it was 7 in the morning. The admin assistants are also very nice and accommodating with payments and answering any questions. I'll definitely be flying in for my next wellness check :). read more

I have been going to Dr. Ingram for about 2 years + and did have great service. I needed a crown and told the scheduler that they would likely need to get pre-approval for the service since two other people in my office had issues with our dental insurance re a crown. The scheduler said that they would be fine and would just explain the procedure and if necessary, would appeal. Long story, short, I went ahead with the procedure and paid my out of pocket part and the claim was denied. They did appeal and I got our insurance broker involved. The insurance company said that the dentist could change his notes to reference cracks in the tooth, etc. The dentist refused to change his notes and I asked them to adjust the bill since I had told them to seek pre-approval. They would not adjust the bill. As a result, I will find another dentist. Be warned and insist on pre-approval for any procedure. read more

There's nothing in the world like a second visit to confirm that one's experience wasn't a fluke, whether that be positive or negative. So, in a sense, I eagerly anticipated my second visit to Indianapolis Dental Designs to begin what will be a series of appointments designed to dramatically improve my smile. This work is, quite honestly, a longtime dream of mine that has been constantly put on the backburner for both legitimate and fear-based reasons. What can I say? This was clearly no fluke. I received an e-mail early during the day of my appointment asking if I could possibly arrive 30 minutes earlier as they'd had a change in their schedule. I was able to make this change in my work day and arrived about 10 minutes before the scheduled time. This gave me time to psychologically prepare as I do definitely get an anxiety about dental work. As I'd experienced a wheelchair access issue to the exam room on my first visit, this also gave me the chance to check out the restroom prior to my appointment. Trust me, there's nothing worse than a spastic paraplegic trying to crawl and transfer. It was a nice perk, by the way, that the office building in which Indianapolis Dental Designs is located has automated doors for wheelchair access and accessible restrooms on each floor. While I generally do fine with independence, accessible features definitely help. One of the things I've come to appreciate about the team at Indianapolis Dental Designs is that they adapt to the situation incredibly well and they do so with a smile on their faces. They have two separate doors into their actual offices from the waiting rooms and, oddly enough, one door is slightly not wheelchair accessible while the other one works just fine (It would likely be a challenge for someone in a larger chair). So, of course, when they tried to bring me in through the door that proved to be inaccessible to their surprise, they quickly shifted gears. While that seems like a minor shift, you'd be amazed how often I get "attitude" when I need just a little extra consideration. It went further. They'd clearly considered the accessibility issue from my first visit when I struggled a bit with that first exam room, because this appointment was in a different room that proved to be MUCH more accessible and didn't require my crawling. It was a well considered and thoughtful gesture. This appointment involved a little bit of time with Beverly, who was just as thoughtful and considerate this time, and even more time with the hygienist. While I'm not 100% sure I got her name right, I've got to tell you that she was just the perfect combination of professional, personal, caring, and competent. First off, it was a relief to work with someone who understood my use of humor as a coping skill. While she didn't quite always know when I was being serious, she seemed to instinctively understand. Have you ever worked with someone that you just instinctively believed actually cared? There's a difference. You can have great customer service without caring, but there's something almost transcendent about the experience of customer service, especially within the healthcare field, when you believe that someone actually cares. I think it enhances the trust, relaxes the defenses, and makes it possible to get the really difficult work done. This hygienist wasn't hesitant to talk about the difficult areas like self-care and the ways in which I need to improve, but she also did so with tremendous compassion, patience and, at least my gut told me, an awareness that there was what Paul Harvey would call "the rest of the story." At one point very early in this appointment for cleaning, she kind of stopped for a minute and reached through my defenses and said "I'm really glad that I get to work with you." It was one of the most touching things I've heard from someone dealing with my physical being and, quite honestly, it established a level of trust that made me think "Okay, whatever happens she's safe." That's HUGE with me. The cleaning itself went well. She was constantly aware of my anxiety and pain level and maintained connection by regularly checking in to make sure I was okay. I don't think I could have communicated it, but I appreciated the check-ins. She took extra steps to ensure the experience was as anxiety-free and pain-free as possible, while also being thorough and honest throughout. As I embark on this journey, which for me represents one of those final "big steps" in recovering from years of abuse, I do so with a growing appreciation for the folks at Indianapolis Dental Designs who seem to beautifully weave together quality care with abundant compassion and a healthy dose of humor. These guys are the bomb.com....I used to HATE going to the dentist. It got to the point I'd avoid it for years at a time and caused myself some issues. I have been coming to Indianapolis Dental Designs regularly for 2.5 years now and my dental health is so much better. Almost as important - I no longer dread it. Recommended by a friend so I went there. But before going, I also read those 1* reviews and was hesitant. My crown had come off which was done in a different state so needed that fixed ASAP. I had called other dental offices but all of them was quoting me very high and we're asking for mandatory exam, x-Ray etc. I didn't have dental insurance. I called this place and got the appointment for the same day, they noted that I don't have insurance. They also took my x-Ray but didn't charge anything and only charged for the cement. I would 400% recommend this place and doctor Ingram is pretty good in face the whole team is excellent. Will update the review if cement doesn't last long. read more

Please note that there was a dentist and staff change a year ago. The bad reviews were with the old team. The new team is awesome! I was very impressed with the hygienist and how good she was. My appointments are always on time and the staff is friendly and likes to have fun. Everyone there has a positive attitude and seems to really enjoy what they do. I signed up for invisalign and now have straight teeth! I am almost finished with it and it was a great decision. I have had a lot of bad dental work from other dentists over the years. I finally found the right place to make the corrections! The dentist explains the treatment and makes sure I understand what needs to be done. He has a great attitude and it is reflected with his staff. I highly recommend this dentist and this office. read more

Terrible service! I had a mediocre experience with my first visit which was just a cleaning and X-rays, plus I had a suspicion of a bad cavity as I was experiencing pain. I was correct and needed a root canal. I proceeded to make another appointment due to their low prices, the fact that they honored Careington Dental (a discount plan for those of us without insurance) and they agreed to take payments. Well, after much anticipation, my appointment was this morning.....when I got a phone call stating that the Dr. was looking over my X-rays and decided that I should go to an Endodontist instead! I cannot believe I got canceled on the same day. This appointment has been set up for weeks! Now I am stuck in pain, trying to find another place to go, and have to schedule even more time off work. This is unacceptable. read more
