I had an awful experience here on every level. The haircut I got here is uneven on each side, bottom-heavy and the layers are like nothing I've ever had before. I now walk around looking like I got my hair done at a truck stop as I wait for it to grow out so I can have it fixed. On top of that, they tried to upsell me at every turn. First it was the in-salon "luxury treatment" they don't mention the price of, but assure me I need because "it works on the hair on a molecular level." (I was there just for a haircut). Then it's going to check out only to find two pricey hair products have been pulled out and set on the counter for me to purchase that I never discussed or said I wanted. Absolutely disappointed. I just moved here from Michigan and had a baby 6 weeks ago and was SO looking forward to getting my haircut. I discovered last minute that they will not allow and children of any age to come into the salon (It was at the very bottom of the policies page.) I have never seen this before as every salon I have ever seen has made exceptions for new babies that are still breastfeeding as others cannot watch them. I begged to have them make an exception as I am in a bind and they didn't budge. Said that they just changed the policy only a month ago. Wouldn't they have a little wiggle room or ask me not to bring her again? Not only that, but they said they will still charge me 100% of the appointment THAT THEY WONT LET ME COME TO! Unfortunate, because I would have been a wonderful customer, but this place is behind the times as they will not help support moms who are just trying to feel better. There was no solution and the coordinator would not let me speak to a manager and was absolutely not apathetic whatsoever. Just said she would pass along my info. I really wanted to make this my new salon but disappointed at their policies and inability to be flexible. So sad. Update: I called back and finally got a manager and asked if I could come on Saturday as my husband could watch the baby outside it in the car and she said that would be fine but they would still charge me for my appointment missed today and if I didn't want to pay it then I would not be able to come to the salon again. This place does not deserve any mom's business. How awful. read more

I've been going to Shaina for the past few months and have had the pleasure to meet so many other hairstylists there that have assisted Shaina with washing/coloring my hair. Everyone is so nice! The front desk staff are super sweet as well!! Shaina does a phenomenal job with getting me to the color that I want (dark to light) without damaging my hair. She is also very upfront with the cost. Besides my awesome experience with Shaina, I've had a great experience with the salon as well. There was one time where there was a miscommunication between me and the front desk with how much I wanted to tip and it resulted in me paying almost $700 to the salon. She helped take the leap into cutting my hair into a shag.( and I LOVE IT) I am so impressed by not only Erin but the team work showed at this salon. Amazing haircut, Sarah is very talented and knows how to deliver. I am new to DFW and was looking for a new salon on yelp when I came across Indigo Child. I went in with long boring hair and she gave me style, texture and just enough volume. She listened to me express what I liked and disliked and gave me exactly what I wanted. If you aren't lucky enough to book with Sarah, the owner, you will still get an awesome experience with one of the hairdressers bc she trains her staff how to improve their craft. I also appreciated her explaining to me how to recreate the look/style with the curls/waves when I get home. Update: Sarah contacted me and got me in her chair almost immediately to correct my hair color. She redid my balayage/pink color and was extremely nice and very good at what she does! She even made me a tub of color to take home to help maintain the pink color. I truly appreciate her reaching out and making sure I had a great experience. Thank you so much Sarah! I signed up for a balayage service and was to have a mix of blonde and pink put in. The service was listed as $89, and when I went to check out the total was $256-HUGE difference. This was because extra things were done, like hair masks, without ever telling me that it was not included and an extra charge to the tune of $167 would be added. I had never had my hair dyed before so I had no idea how the process works, and I feel that was taken advantage of. I would have been fine with paying more than expected had I been pleased with the result of my hair, however LESS than 2 weeks and only 2 washes (with color safe shampoo) later my hair has almost no color in it, not even blonde from the bleaching, so you can't tell I had anything done other than a haircut. I let Cara know of my concern, and she said the salon would contact me. They did, but I was told that I was "informed vibrant color lasts less than 2 weeks" when I absolutely was not. Why would I pay so much for something that lasts less than 2 weeks?! I even told Cara at the beginning of the appointment that I chose balayage because I wanted low maintenance and asked several times if the pink would fade out-this would have been the perfect time for her to mention that it has such a short life, but NOPE. All she said was that it would "eventually fade a bit". Even if the pink was to fade, I would expect to at least see blonhighlights from the balayage that wasn't covered with pink but there's none. The salon offered for me to schedule a me a $40 gloss to bring out the "vibrancy", though there is nothing to bring out. I let her know that I did not want the gloss or to pay more money and was still very frustrated with the situation. I was told she would speak with Cara to see what else they could do and would call me back, but that never happened. Very disappointed in this entire salon experience and most certainly cannot recommend to anyone. read more

I posted on a beauty group about wanting to get a haircut and I'm looking for someone to listen to exactly what I wanted. I haven't gotten a haircut in 8 years and I was very nervous because I didn't trust anyone with my hair and I just wanted something different but small as well. I had Liz reach out to me on the group and Facebook messenger and I AM SO SO SO HAPPY I WENT WITH LIZ! She listened to my concerns and needs. She could tell I was very nervous and anxious since I've had horrible haircut experiences before. She gave me her honest, professional opinions. I wanted curtain bangs and layers in the back and just about 3-4 inches off the bottom. She suggested me not get layers in the back because it would make my hair feel much much lighter and I think she knew that would scare me and I'm so happy that she gave me her opinion because I now know I would have freaked out about that. She gave me a haircut I didn't even know I wanted, curtain bangs, some layers in the front and the actual 4 inches off the bottom! I am so happy and obsessed! I felt so dull with my hair before because it was all 1 length but now I feel pretty and different and fierce and it's all because of Liz! I wish she knew how much it really means to me for her to take the time and listen to what I actually wanted. I went to go do my hair with shaina and I was already blonde all she had to do was touch up my roots and when we finished my "roots" my hair was SOOOOOO dark I remember her telling me how tired she was when I got home I looked more at my hair and didn't like it at all and I dmd her telling her and she just came up with these huge excuses one of them was saying it was my fault for working ???? Like what do you want me to quit my job ??? No I'm not going to I paid 387 for something I DID NOT ask for the following day I called the salon and they told me no one of upper management can attend me because they were so busy I told her it was in regards to my hair in which if I was a manager and one of the customers had issues with their hair I would contact them Immediately but instead they waited like 3 days just go contact me to ask what happened. When I finally received the call she told me the same thing shaina told me which she had time to talk to the persons that works for her instead of a client that has messed up hair and doesn't like her own hair !!! How does that make any sense I do not recommend this salon at all !!!! Luckily I went to a different salon and they fixed my hair !! Elise was fantastic! I have had problems finding a stylist to do my curly hair because of assumptions my hair would be too coarse or kinky. Also, finding a stylist with a variety of hours has been a challenge because I have full time job. Getting an appointment with Elsie was not stressful at all. They not only got me in SAME DAY because of a cancellation, but the service was TOP NOTCH! Every last detail! I started coming to Indigo Child in January 2019 for extensions from Summer. She's been so amazing! Not only did she make my hair look great (my 22 inch extensions blended perfectly) but she is always flexible with scheduling, kind and accommodating! The little things they do make a difference too - filling up my meter with quarters when my time was running low and I was out of change, always offering drinks when I come in, etc. These ladies are professional and just fun to be around!
