I really enjoyed my time at YoBa Studio. It's quaint, inviting and the staff is amazing. I'd first visited YoBa on a class pass and I thought very highly of it then and the 2nd time was even better. I've experienced 2 different instructors and both were patient & encouraging, I even cried in one of the sessions because that particular practice resonated with me so much. The studio is very clean. The bathroom was in impeccable shape. They offer some amazing products for cleaning up too one in particular that caught my eye was the Indie Lee Product. I didn't bring a mat but I was able to us one of theirs, the fee is $2. They offer a wide variety of drinks and I heard someone raving about the coconut water. Signing in is easy and quick. You just find your name and press check in. The cubbies are in the front and they lock the doors during a session to ensure safety of your things. Overall the studio, class instructors and staff are amazing. Such an amazing place to do yoga in Raleigh. Ps, there is plenty of parking too. read more

YoBa YoBa YoBa.. I truly do love this place. It's more than just a yoga/barre studio, it's genuinely a local neighborhood sanctuary to come to and releave the stress of your day. I first started going when they first opened and had to take a break due to work schedule etc. I recently joined back and it was like I never left. Instructors remembered my name and for those who didn't know me, quickly introduced themselves and made me feel right at home. I was blown away on how quickly everyone remembers your name.. it's a small thing.. but to me it, it made a world of difference. It's proof they truly do care about getting to know their community. I signed up for the yearly unlimited pass and could not be happier with all of the classes they offer. They have been extremely safe during covid, making sure everyone wears masks. The studio is super clean and they offer hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes. If you're wanting to be a part of a local Yoga community that you're always welcome in, look no further. Such a gem of a studio! First the pros: the staff is so warm and welcoming, it's thoughtfully decorated and always clean. The teachers go beyond regular yoga rhetoric to give you thought starters of how to be a better and more whole person outside of the studio. They offer a variety of classes to fit your mood - from cardio/dance to restorative. Now, cons. But not so much really cons, as they are things to be aware of before you sign up. My first class was the Flow and Restore. I thought that it was going to be more of a 45/15, but it's 30 minutes of each - and the flow is pretty light. I found it to be a very restorative class. The other one I went to was Flow 60. Unfortunately, I didn't find it to be much of a flow. Yoga poses seemed to be used more as a starting point for more traditional workouts - lunges, crunches, squats, etc. If that's what you're looking for it's a great model, but if you're expecting a traditional vinyasa class, this isn't it. In both classes, the teachers walked throughout and didn't demo many poses or provide adjustments. In the flow class in particular, that made it harder to keep up. Also, the bathroom is a onesie and from what I could tell, showers aren't available. Not a problem if you plan ahead, but good to know for a hot yoga studio. The music is always on point, and you can look for their playlists on Spotify! I really want to catch their throwback class Sunday morning, or their 5pm Sunday class. The latter rotated out with the focus on a different artist every week. So fun! read more

I have a love-hate relationship with hot yoga. In theory hot yoga sounds great, but every single time, w/o fail, I feel so defeated at some point in class. Like exhausted. Tired. Hot. Sweaty. Unhappy. Sometimes faint. But then, the fans turn on. A cold towel greets me while I'm in shavasana. And I feel so fantastic when I leave YoBa. I feel rejuvenated, flexible, healthy. Hot yoga in general is challenging and it isn't for the faint of heart, but I do think it is absolutely worth the challenge. I've enjoyed the 6am classes the best, but sometimes I'll go on a Saturday at 9:30 and it is truly a fantastic way to start the day! read more

I've been practicing yoga for 20 years but was always intimidated by hot yoga. Finally came to YoBa to give it a try and I am hooked on both the hot yoga and the studio. The teachers and managers are so genuinely kind and the space itself is welcoming. I can't say how it compares to other hot studios, but they're really clear about the temperature for each class and the hottest is 95 degrees which I find hot but not unbearable. I've taken a handful of classes now and found all the teachers to be solid and their playlists are the best of any studio I've been to (a definite selling point for me!). I'd say all the yoga classes I've taken there assume you've got a basic foundation in yoga postures, so if you're brand new to the practice and never been to a yoga class before you might not start here. However, they do a good job of offering options in each flow for both super-yogis and those of us who are a little out of shape :) Overall, excellent studio and I'm so happy to have found it! read more

My first time ever doing a hot yoga class. Wow I have never sweat so much. Not since I use to teach Spin class back in the day. Katie was an amazing teacher. You didn't even need to watch her, not that there was room for her. But I didn't miss or need it much. The infrared ceiling panels make this place so amazing. The peace and energy and the HEAT. I thought the floors were also heated. Lol. I cannot wait till I'm back in town for work. I will plan my hotel around this place so I can swing in as much as possible. I'm now thinking of opening one of these in FL. Jk read more

Can't say enough great things about this studio! I have only attended the hot flow classes, but after having so many different instructors, I'm thoroughly impressed with the quality of teaching they have here. The instructors are genuine, challenge you, give you room to go with your own practice, and sprinkle so much encouragement throughout the classes. The room is low lit which I thought I wouldn't like, but I've now learned to prefer a dark room during yoga! And above all, I have to say that my favorite part is the playlist. The playlists are literally the best in Raleigh. I even follow their monthly Spotify albums because they ROCK. They're doing great things at YoBa! Go once and you'll likely never stop. read more

Signed up for their YoBa class to give it a shot, as this is the class they get their name from. First, to my surprise this is NOT a yoga/barre class. Instead, it felt like I entered into an 80s Zumba class. Not what I signed up for. I am very accustomed to different types of yoga classes and barre classes and this was not it. The teacher also picked several "exercises" that could be extremely hard on the body (not in the work out way) and gave no alternatives positions. I would not recommend if you have any wrist or back problems. On top of that. The class was way overcrowded. There was barely enough room to move. I also watched as the teacher forced people practically on top of each other so that she had plenty of space. Not only was the class overcrowded, but it started and ended late. The class before had gone over forcing everyone to wait in the cramped entry until they had moved out. Then once inside the teacher immediately started class while people were still setting up their mats and finding a spot. I understand that we started late but especially since it was my first time I didn't know what I was supposed to grab or do. There was no instruction. I would not recommend unless you really like Zumba. read more

This is the cutest yoga studio with a twist! I just moved to Raleigh last week and decided to sign up for a class. On my way I got pulled over *no ticket though* but it made me late to class by a few minutes. The sweetest gal opened the door, gave me a water, welcomed me and made sure I got a place in the room for that class. I went back tonight and I look forward to getting whatever membership they have so I can continue to go. The best of both worlds! Prior to Yoba, I hadn't found a studio where I could enjoy both hot yoga and barre at the same place. Yoba has a class for everyone from the beginner to the most experienced yogis. There are several styles of classes, including hot Flow, barre blast, and a combo class called Yoba which is half yoga and half barre. The lighting at Yoba makes for the perfect heated studio - sometimes I get overwhelmed by the heat at other places, but not here! Chances are when you walk in you'll be greeted by co-owner Sam. Her enthusiastic and energy are contagious! Highly recommend taking one of her classes. Best of all, they have an AMAZING deal for first timers - $30 for an unlimited month, which is just unheard of. YoBa is a really special place. As a beginner to hot yoga, I was a little nervous walking into my first class, but right when I walked through the door I was met with such peaceful, positive energy from every staff member and from the other people in the class, I felt right at home. Since purchasing the introductory package at YoBa, I've taken hot yoga at some other local studios and none of them compare both in ambiance, quality of instruction, perfect temperature of the room, intention setting, and perfect amount of energy expended during class. I always leave a class at YoBa feeling tired and sweaty, but also rejuvenated and relaxed. It also helps that their studio is beautiful, and the cool eucalyptus towel during shavasana doesn't hurt either :) Kudos to everyone at YoBa, you've created a beautiful space. read more

A coworker and I were traveling to Raleigh for work. We looked up yoga studios and found a few options. But we were drawn to YoBa studio by the two-week membership they offered and the wide variety of classes available. It was perfect for us. We took two classes of Flow 60 during the week-long visit, and we had two different instructors. Both classes got us moving and sweaty. I've never taken a class like this before! I would best describe is as cardio yoga set to music! You're doing yoga, but the heart rate is definitely pumping. Both instructors guided you through a series of flows and then also gave you time to move through the flows on your own, in your own expression, adding more difficulty, modifying the pose, or just making it easier. The girls at the front desk and the teachers were very nice and welcoming. And -- my favorite- this studio has an amazing smell, which is from their own signature essential oil blend! (For reference I would probably still classify myself as a beginner yogi. I know the basic poses but I am not executing any advanced poses, and I've only recently returned to my twice-a-week practice.) read more

From the very first second my friend and I walked in, we were greeted with genuine smiles all around. It was our first time in so we were unsure of what to do and the staff was so quick to welcome us and explain how it all works. I've been to many hot yoga studios in the triangle and never quite found the perfect one until I tried YoBa. I almost didn't want to give this review because I don't want everyone to find out about this hidden gem, but here you go! The studio has a very warm and welcoming vibe to it. Very clean as well, they make sure the floor is cleaned in between classes. The heat is nothing like other studios given that it's infrared. There's no blast of hot air that blows at you in a specific part of the room. You don't feel like you're breathing heavy hot air. ALL of the teachers are knowledgeable and very encouraging but also reminds you to be "mindful" of your own body and reminds you to do all positions "at your own pace." They also help you with your adjustments (individually during class). What sets this studio apart from others is using meditation and positive energy in the practice. Each class starts with a guided meditation for about 3 minutes to get you ready for the intense yoga-workout. Another great thing about YoBa is you don't feel like you have to always look at your neighbors to find out what position the teacher wants you to do. Instead of solely calling out names of the positions, they will call out the name then tell you step by step what to do. More often they also demonstrate it for you. What's even more helpful is they use a microphone ( not too loud that it ruins the class or clashes with the music). Everything about this studio is just right. I have yet to try their Barre classes, but I'm sure I will love it also! I've used up my trial package and you bet, I'm coming back again and again and again! I was doing hot yoga on and off for the past few years. I recently discovered YoBa, which is just up the street from me (awesome)! I dropped in for the 30 day new member pass and immediately fell in love. I joined after it expired. Spending a lot of my life doing high impact fitness, I really needed to change it up. The hot yoga classes are amazing and I always get a great workout in, and feel awesome after. The barre and yoBa classes are so challenging and work muscles I didn't know I had. Each instructor brings their own unique style to the class and I really enjoy all of them. Everyone is encouraging and there is no judgement, no matter your skill level. I know that no matter the day I'm having, as long as I make it in ...once class is over, I'll feel better. I am so happy to have found this studio, you will not regret trying it out. read more
