However, I had booked a bridal hair and makeup trial for my upcoming wedding with Jennifer, who is the owner of the salon. I am so grateful I did a trial before the day of my wedding. This definitely would have ruined the day. I had a consultation a couple of weeks ago, and showed my photos, made a plan, and everything went very well. Jennifer was very friendly and assured me that she would be able to do the looks I asked for without a problem. When it comes to my hair, I have very naturally curly hair, and brought in clip-ins that she had approved during the consultation. Not everyone is able to work with my hair type, and that's understandable, but I had a consultation for this reason and she assured me it was not an issue. We tried many different styles that just weren't great, but that's okay. My main concern was the makeup. I asked for full coverage, airbrush, and gave her a reference photo. I am aware that nothing will be exactly like the inspiration photo, but what I received with was absolutely terrible. When I tried to ask for something a little closer the photo or fuller coverage, I was told that it's just because I have bad skin and acne....I left in tears. No coverage, no airbrush, extremely splotchy application, no color match, unfortunately nothing about it was right at all. It looked like dollar store makeup done by a child. I hate to be so harsh, but when you see the photos, you'll understand. After this experience, I will not be returning or recommending this salon to anyone. I also decided to go home and try out the look myself with absolutely no experience and I think the difference in quality speaks for itself...

I now have a glorious full head of fabulous hair extensions but my own hair is thriving, too! By far the best experience, and I checked out several salons. Definitely worth booking an appointment. I have natural hair and typically rotate between a number of protective styles that I can't perform myself. I cannot braid so I have always sought out hair stylists to help me take care of my hair! I have been going to a braiding shop down closer to Indy and I really wanted to Find a salon closer to my home. I live about 5 minutes from this location so I was very excited to connect with this business. My first experience with Allen was back in November. I inquired about braids via phone and was told to text him pictures of the style I wanted. I texted him pictures with several questions to receive no return call/text. Left a bad taste in my mouth. Months later in May I reached out again for simple cornrows (5-6 braids) inquiring about pricing/availability. I did tell him and send him pictures of my last inquiry and the proof that I revived no message back. His response was "that's odd. Either way do you want me to connect you to a stylist for the braids..." I was connected to Francis who did a wonderful job and made it a great experience. Yesterday I reached out to Francis and I didn't receive a response so this morning a texted Allen to inquire about making an appointment for a sew in installation. He responded with "typically I do a consultation prior to installs" ( which is great, I take really good care of my hair and would benefit from this service) he also added that he didn't have any hair in stock. I then told him that I would provide the hair, I have hair I've purchased awhile back from a very professional salon that already customized the wefts to my head. His response was that typically he doesn't allow clients to bring their own hair. Allen has provided me with consistent poor customer service. It's almost borderline rude. He did not ask me anything about my hair or anything about the services I was inquiring about Or even his process and how to purchase hair from him. I was open to the possibility but how poorly he treated me completely turns a customer off to this business. I don't know if this salon offers booth rental or what but this is not a business I would recommend and it is very disappointing as I had high hopes & there are not many options for AA hair styles on the South side.
