Over charged credit card fee by 100%, which violated CC company rules. Hate a copmany that tries hiding behind the computerized system and it's a waste of my time to go back and argue about something that should not have happened. Came to know the place through my father. I rented a few items over the years. Had a recent job…read morechange due to covid affecting the economy (it's hard for me to make the open hours of the rental facility). I visited July 10, 2021, to rent a jackhammer as I had several times before this year. I speak to the cashier/receptionist and I attempted to inform her that my contact info was the same as my father's about two times. That's when the owner decided to jump into my "civil" conversation with her. "Now see I'm going to cut you off there!!!!" he exclaimed. "Don't argue with her.... would you talk to the cops like that?" he says. I ask him in the same tone "who are you". He replies "I'm the owner of the shop!". I then told him I'm not arguing I'm giving her my information (meaning my Driver's License). He responds "Well give it to her and shut up!!". I told him "you will not talk to me like that in the same tone he set". He responded by saying "get out and don't process anything for him get out". As I departed I told him "I'm glad to know that you are the owner". I have never been kicked out of any establishment yet alone had the amount of disparaging dialogue to go along with it. I will have boycott signs posted nearby soon. This is an outrage and if you are a "minority" I would not support this establishment signed J. Jackson (I want him and anyone in the city to know that this is a legitimate review). Also, I'm filing with the BBB, which is poor customer service and deed far from laudable.

They literally tried to steal $100 from me…read more (My google review has pictures to verify everything) I brought in a piece of equipment under warranty. After waiting for 2 MONTHS for my jointer to be leveled, I was told (and it was printed on my receipt) that the manufacturer only covered 50% of the cost and I had to cover the remaining 50% ($100) due to some stripped screws (allegedly). I then sent an email to the manufacturer asking why they only covered the first $100 and not the remaining, and they told me that they covered 100% of the cost and Vamaco only filed a warranty claim for the $100, not $200. The manufacturer also said in the email "they should not have charged you any money". I called Vamaco about this while being very calm and they got kinda snippy and nasty with me and said they werent going to refund the money. So I contacted the manufacturer again, told them the situation, and they contacted Vamaco on my behalf and I get an email the next day saying they would in fact refund the money. They were only willing to cooperate once they got caught and the big boss stepped in. They lied to me, trying to pin the blame on the manufacturer solely to rip me off and steal some extra cash. Never trust this place, they're dishonest people and I will never do business with them again.

However, when it came to delivery my order was over 2 hours late and they only sent it out after I called for the third time without any notifications or updates that they would be late, the dispatcher let me know after I called that the original truck broke down. Then for pickup I called 3 times before I was sent to a dispatcher who finally got a pickup scheduled days later than my original pickup time. The first two times the person who answered the phone seems annoyed that I called and just said "we're busy" and did not give me a pick up number or anything. The dispatcher told me that she never notification that the pickup was ready. Additionally, when I asked ove the phone if the extra time would be charged or if it was on them, one of the shop employees said I would have to pay based on when it was picked up. I now know that wasn't true but it really stressed me out because I was completely left out stranded and had to stay home from work for 2 days to wait for them to do the pickup and had no idea when and if they would actually come. I spent $150 each way for delivery and I only live 10 minutes down the road. The whole point was I needed things to be timely. I would rate the shop experience 4/5 and the delivery experience 0/5. While I would absolutely rent from them again, I'm never doing delivery. The equipment was in good working order and the delivery driver was nice and helpful when he did get there.

I have started to take on bigger projects around my house and this past weekend it was time to tear out a cement patio and replace it. I wanted to figure out the quickest and easiest way to do and I needed a Jack hammer. After browsing all my tool rental options this not only seemed reliable, but by far more affordable. In comparison, the HD would require a $350 deposit for a $90 rental. I believe I spent a total of $133 on a Jack hammer, 2 chisel picks, and a wheel barrel. Best part was, I got a refund on a chisel pick without even asking. They asked me if I had used both, which I hadn't, and they just refunded me. I loved that!! The employees are all incredibly friendly and helpful here! Like I said, I was a bit uneasy at first, but once I started talking to someone, I was feeling much better. Overall great employees, good prices, and reliable tools!!
