I completed a day of empathy training at my job that involved taking the bus to three different locations. A lot of the people we serve ride the bus so our training group wanted to see what it was like in the day of someone else. I come from a privileged position of not having to rely on the bus so I'm reviewing this in the lens of if this was my main mode of transportation. For the most part- the buses were clean and had the AC on. A few had some dirty floors as well as low working AC. The bus wasn't too crowded and you usually could sit by yourself. The bus drivers were very straight forward but most of them seemed friendly. Without Google maps, I'm unsure how most people would navigate the buses! It told us which bus to take- where to transfer and when the bus would arrive. When we did take the red line- the bus was coming every ten minutes. On other routes we sometimes had to wait twenty minutes for the next bus. After a full day of completing errands, you are exhausted from trying to catch your next bus. I think once the blue and purple line are developed that will help transportation more in Indy. read more

i boarded another indygo bus, and not to my surprise i greeted the driver as i paid my fare and the driver looked me dead in my eyes, and didn't say a damn word! its the most disgusting thing to pay fare, and not be greeted by the driver whos not doing thejr muthafuckin job. i don't know what going on with indygo, but this needs to get better!!! i'm going to complain each time that this happens. today, bus 1406 2:59pm do better!!! stay blessed read more

I sold my car in Jacksonville,Florida and flew to Indy. I thought the public transit here in Indy would be sufficient for my needs. Boy!! I was wrong. Selling my car for this lousy transit system was a high mistake. First of all they don't have connecting light rail like many major cities. The buses services only a small portion of the city. Usually after getting off the bus you have to walk or ride a bike sometimes more than a mile to reach your destination. The drivers are rude and disrespectful. You literally have to flag them down to get to stop to pick you up. Sometimes they will leave you standing there until the next one arrives. Many if you do get them to stop they will give you an attitude by rolling their eyes at you or giving you some kind of smug look. If you know what you're doing, you can get around in the city pretty well. I had a bad day because it was a holiday and they were short staffed. Actually, no one was in the information center, but there were guys around with walkie-talkies that knew what was going on. I guess some of the problem I have with it is they do change the routes a lot and that can really mess you up when you're running late but also when it's really really cold out you don't want to be dropped off at the wrong place. Some bus drivers will answer questions and are really nice and some won't even acknowledge that you're talking to them. Some drivers wait for you to sit down or grab hold of something before they takeoff. There's some that are just plain awesome and will help you in anyway they can and are friendly. I do want to comment about the Broad ripple station. I went to yesterday after I got off of school. A man asked me if I wanted cocaine or alcohol and I said you realize you are here with school children right? Then he moved on to talk to somebody else. I don't know what he asked her, but she looked pretty mad. That really is the only sketchy thing that's happened to me so far. I'm including some helpful things that you could pick up at the transit center like brochures on the different routes as well as some tickets and how they work. If you have a two hour ticket that doesn't mean you could be on a bus for that amount of time. It means from 12 to 2 so it's better off just buying a day pass if you really don't know what's going on or it can get real pricey. I do know they have cards you can order as well. I usually just pay on the bus which they really don't like. It does save you two dollars. Make sure you don't take a $20 bill because you will not get change!!!!!!!!!!!!! The red line goes pretty fast and usually within 15 minutes they will pick you up. I'm including a picture of how you can also find your routes on your phone at Google Maps or whatever. They are very handicap friendly as well as they have places on front of the bus for your bicycles. BEWARE!!! I booked my Reservation on Indygo Access on Tuesday around noon to go to 6020 East 82nd Street. I did this through the Indygo Mobility App... Well this morning I woke up and looked at my reservations and everything was good Well today at 10:49 I get a notification that my trips have been canceled... I went to the app and everything was there but the address has been changed... I called and got ahold of dispatch and let them know about the address changing and they said there is no record of the address changing on their end... They sent me over to reservations and again they were saying the same thing. Not understanding what had happened... I never booked for the address it changed too but since the reservation on the mobile app was done by me they dont take responsiblity... So I believe an issue with the app happened and it glitched switching my address I was going to. They will not honor for the mistake and they will just blame you for the apps malfunction... Now if you book through the App be aware of this moving forward. Print screen anything you do with the app and then call them to make sure the reservation was confirmed correctly so they will have a record on the phone with it. INDYGO DOES NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR MOBILITY APP AND IT WAS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL OF THE SUPERIVORS OR ANY OF THEIR EMPLYEES TO KEEP BLAMING THE CUSTOMER FOR THEIR APPS MALFUNTIONS. Unsafe drivers! I was traveling with my mother on interstate 70 W at 4:30 pm Saturday, May 3rd and this IndyGo driver was so close behind her I thought he was going to hit us. There was a semi truck in the lane next to us and as soon as we got past it my mom signaled her turn signal to get over and let the IndyGo van pass but he flew over and around us nearly hitting us before she could get over. This is completely unacceptable unsafe driving. If I ever need translation, I will never trust their drivers to take me anywhere. Better off to find a safer transportation company! read more

For what IndyGo charges to ride the buses is stupid. There are other cities in the US that do charge a little more to ride the bus but at least they aren't prejudiced. I am specifically writing about my experience with the redline as a regular user who *attempts* to use it for commuting from Broad Ripple to Downtown. I am a strong advocate for reliable public transportation. I think it is incredibly important to any community that wants to thrive and be accessible. IndyGo has a long, long way to go. Here is my feedback on the Redline: 1. It is inconsistent--definitely not the "every 15 minutes" they advertise for rapid transport. One time I waited two hours. It feels there are rarely north-bound busses around 5pm from downtown at the end of the workday. This is the must frustrating part of the whole Redline experience. 2. There are no controllers on board--ever. Anyone can get on without paying. 3. I have worried for my safety on the bus. I have been a witness to both verbal and physical altercations. I think actually having controllers would help. 4. The smell. Sometimes, the smell is so awful that I am trying not to breathe. I think IndyGo should advertise resources/services available to the community. read more

It's hit or miss. Maybe the bus will come, maybe it won't. It doesn't matter what time of day it is. Maybe the bus will be on time, but most often, it won't. Best advice, don't chance it. The drivers don't care and neither does management. Complain all you want. It won't get better. Same poor service year after year. Got on a route 19 bus today that was scheduled to leave the transit center at 5:15pm. We didn't leave until 5:26 pm. See my point. The driver forgot her gloves in the break room, so that was part of the reason for the delayed departure. Just another day for Indyslow. We really need better public transportation in this city. WORST. BUS SYSTEM. EVER. Lots of nice cosmetic changes, including so-called "rapid" routes that are little more than dedicated bus lanes with spiffed-up shelter stops and extra-long buses that run every ten minutes. Meanwhile, you have bus drivers who couldn't care less about schedule adherence, causing riders to miss transfers and sometimes get stranded downtown. Riding the bus takes forever - a commute to work that takes fifteen or twenty minutes on I-465 takes three hours one way, so my husband and I effectively spend 35 hours a week RIDING THE BUS to our full-time job and back. The buses have hard, uncomfortable seats, terrible climate control, and often carry loud, rude passengers, not that the drivers care about anything like that, any more than they care about schedule adherence. Once I was riding a bus home and the driver casually stopped the bus to buy and munch on some fried chicken from KFC... Seriously?!? Oh, and now there's going to be a rate hike. Of course... I've lived in several cities and a couple of small towns, and even tiny little Massillon, OH had better bus service than Indianapolis. IndyGo is a disgrace to our city. read more

While I am grateful for the bus and the ability to get across town due to IndyGo, I am disappointed in some important routes taken away. I knew lots of folks who took the 86th Street bus to get to work. On top of that, I have had multiple issues with bus drivers. I have gone to the "Contact Us" form on the site, filled in the information, and haven't heard back from anyone. When I first started riding the buses around 4 or 5 years ago, the bus drivers were kind, polite, and interactive with the passengers, and made the ride enjoyable. Now, so many of the drivers are grumpy, and rude, do not enforce things with people doing stuff on the bus, and more. Today, I got off one bus and then, was using the crosswalk to get to my bus home. A guy driving the 90 extension bus pulled up onto the crosswalk and could have hit me. I had the walk sign and the light was read for him. He never looked at me, I am a chunky, mature lady who had bad knees, and I am beyond obvious as the only person crossing at that moment. He sat there until traffic cleared enough for him to turn on the red and I had to stand by his bus waiting for him to go. This was around 3:12 pm on 3/24/25 at the east end crosswalk. I am sure it is on camera. I know they try to keep things in good running order but the new drivers should be taught compassion and to treat the riders with respect. Unless the riders are awful people. I have seen riders yelling at someone who is confused. As I said, I am grateful for the bus and some of the drivers. It is hard for a lady of age to adjust sometimes and I miss the OG drivers who were so wonderful. Indygo has set up a system with a card that can be reloaded and that is very helpful and makes riding very easy. The staff inside the transit center are usually kind. The security guys are also kind and helpful. I don't envy them with things downtown the way they are these days. read more

Why are the bus drivers so damn rude. I just got on the westbound 3 greeting the driver with a "Hello." Nothing. The MyKey app would register my payment so I asked if I was doing it correctly and all I got was a stern "SIT DOWN!" What in the actual hell kind of customer service is this.? So I'm coming from the perspective of an admittedly privileged choice rider. I mainly use IndyGo when I have doctor's appointments downtown and don't have access to a car, which is often during the work week. Fortunately my job is very accommodating of my schedule and I can take a few hours off and make up the time later. I understand not everyone has that option. I also am hesitant to criticize IndyGo for their lack of service in the surrounding counties. IndyGo doesn't have the authority to impose taxes on adjacent counties, and those counties in years past either never had transit or eliminated it decades ago. And as a governmental organization, IndyGo is reluctant to focus solely on only the most popular routes as they do try their best to serve everyone. Many routes that do serve more suburban parts of Marion County do go through more dense parts of town and pick up a lot of riders there. For me, paying $3.50 for a bus trip to IU Methodist is well worth it. I'd be paying about the same just for parking a car. And a ride share would easily hit $40 or more. It is admittedly a pain to have exact change, and I still have to walk half a mile and cross a street with no sidewalks, crosswalks or pedestrian signal to get home. Hopefully with the establishment of the rapid transit routes, that can relieve stress on surrounding routes and make transfers easier. It is a pain to transfer, and I hope some of the smaller changes like app-based payments will be happening sooner than later. For the service I get and the limits imposed on them, four stars. I usually get there within 30-40 minutes, which isn't significantly longer than if I drove + time for parking. So for that, four stars. read more

First if you had a negative 100 rating that would be a present I give you! My mom is in assisted living and relies on transport to critical health appointments and activities as she is wheel chair bound. She is proactive in scheduling indy go as she has had consistent issues with the service not showing up on time to pick her up and/or incredibly delayed returning her home. On multiple occasions they have been an hour or more late to return her home leaving her alone and waiting...very unsafe! Her last two scheduled pick ups were 2+ hours late and not only did they not contact her they kept delaying the new pick up times they promised after she contacted them herself...eventually she had to cancel her outings as she would have missed any acceptable arrival. She always plans pickup and hour plus earlier than needed to account for this BUT continues to be disappointed. She has reached out to them every time just to hear SORRY we will relay your issue BUT NOTHING improves. They use staffing as an excuse yet continue to take bookings knowing this. How can this company operate??? You disappoint these seniors, leave them waiting and potentially put them at risk without any concern. Your lack of communication, meeting your commitments and complete disregard of your customers personal needs is disgusting!!!! You clearly know you have issues with meeting your commitments to your customers but continue to disappoint and make excuses. Your practice is shameful! On Friday December 8th I at 630am I was waiting for a bus to go to IU HEALTH I got on the indygo app and it said from my location to the hospital I could take numerous busses however the first 3 busses I got take was the #15 #34 or the #5 so as each bus stopped i asked for a courtesy ride no matter what bus I took I only needed to go no more than 10 stops and I needed a courtesy ride because I was walking and twisted my ankle hence the a random bus ride at 630am so the complaint is because all 3 drivers were rude told me I had the wrong bus told me I couldn't read the indy go map and wouldn't give me a courtesy ride for 10 stops to a hospital read more

THREE CHEERS FOR THE RED LINE! This is major for Indianapolis. I've lived in several big cities around the world and come to love public transportation. It helps the environment, cuts down on traffic, and allows you to do things during your commute -- nothing like reading a book on the bus to start your day off on a calm, refreshed foot. As a previous Butler student and near-Broad-Ripple resident, it's exciting to see a door of possibilities open. For example, students can now easily travel downtown at an affordable price and can be exposed to new neighborhoods and businesses along the way. People all over the city can attend downtown Indy events without being worried about parking and hundreds of people now have a more accessible way to get to work. My hope is that we'll see all different types and ages of people using the public transportation so it can become a bit more normalized. The red line is super easy to use. For the month of September, it's free, and you can download the IndyGo app to see where busses are located, as well as look at the screens in the stops for updated information. I thought I already posted a review for this but then I thought I already made out with your sister and she assured you that I did not so what do I know? Luckily I have it saved. These buses don't vanish all that quickly as they are pretty slow, but they do serve most of the city and for that I am grateful. The only time I have been on them in the last few years was with my friend from Castleton whose name I will not mention to protect her from her physically abusive boyfriend. But one of these days I'm going to find an excuse to fight him and he will be repaid in kind. The reason I don't give these buses a higher rating is because it took longer than it should have to get around, and there was a longer wait time than expected to get from Castleton to Broadripple to downtown and back to Castleton. Rode the Red Line for the first time this weekend and was thoroughly disappointed. We walked a half mile to the nearest stop - Michigan and Capitol. The announcement screen stated our bus, headed north to 66th, would arrive in 9 minutes. 9 minutes passed and no bus. The next bus would be there soon. By this time another potential bus passenger has arrived on the platform and tells us it is common for the bus to be late. He had just bought ice cream and hoped this next bus wouldn't be too far behind. Well.... that second bus also didn't show up when it was supposed to. We waited 30 minutes and then called an Uber. It arrived in 3 minutes. The gentleman with the now melted ice cream also told us that the new Red Line took away some of his bus transfer options. He used to have several different ways to get to the grocery store but only has one now. I can image the loss of mobility is very frustrating. The gentleman is unable to drive. To further this gentleman's frustration, he said most of the time the buses are full with joy riders. People like myself that don't really need to use the bus. People that just want to check out the novelty while the ride is free for the first month. He's had to forgo getting on buses, stuck waiting for one with open space. Should our elderly or limited-mobility citizens have to wait bus after bus to get home or get to their jobs on time? We made our way to Broad Ripple in our Uber, ate dinner and then picked up groceries. At 54th and College we waited for a bus going south. It too was late, but at least this one actually arrived! It was full with joy riders - lots of people with their children. Lots of people standing since seats were full. The bus driver didn't open the door at stops unless someone pulled the stop cord. She did this to catch back up to the bus schedule. Not sure if it worked. I know people are very excited about the city's newest bus line, but I now see my 'joy ride' has an impact on those individuals that use the line to get to their jobs, doctor's appointments and other essential life needs. Which led me to think about the capacity of this entire system. If volume doesn't die down - do they add more buses??? It's clear that I won't be riding the bus again. I don't want to be the cause of melted ice cream and I also know that time is money. And I don't have 30 minutes to waste waiting on a bus. read more

Please note this review is for the Red Line. Indy has always lacked in the public transportation department. I've heard countless stories of the horrors that is some times the IndyGo bus system. Luckily, the Red Line is here to hopefully make some necessary changes. Predisclosure: I had never ridden any other bus lines prior to the Red Line. That being said, I hope to be an avid bus user now that I have experienced the Red Line. In one weekend, I've already explored local businesses I've never gone to simply because they were "out of the way" or because they "weren't in my neighborhood." I can't wait to replace rideshare programs like Uber and Lyft and now opt for the Red Line while traveling to/from my apartment to Broad Ripple, SoBro, downtown, Fountain Square, and more. A huge shout out to the IndyGo system for finally putting Indy on the map regarding public transit. Can't wait to see the future of more lines! read more

0 stars, rude and LATE drivers. The lack of dependable drivers causes them to CONSTANTLY CANCEL routes without notice. Drivers on route 38, 10, 37 and 26 slam on the breaks as if it was taught in training. Route 10 was 16 minutes for a 5:40 pickup without reason causing me to miss my TWO other bus routes and causing me to be 45 minutes late to work when I'm normally 25 minutes early. Do better. Awful and it's getting worse each day. read more

Tami & I took an adventure trip on the Red Line from Broadripple to the University of Indianapolis and back with a few stops to check out stations and a sidewalk lunch in Fletcher Place. Throngs of happy people (for the most part) were patient on Labor Day with overloaded coaches and lateness. Passenger car drivers are still adjusting to the rapidness of the transit, thereby causing dangerous situations. Suggestion: ride and watch through the front window as traffic patterns develop. It will help you learn necessary driving practices. These busses go fast thanx to the dedicated lane. Spoke with several IndyGo staff/officers who were very helpful and positive. Today, a more regular workday, it's much more calm, regular and on time. At the 52nd St. station, I counted single occupant vehicles vs multiple occupant vehicles = 20-25:1 ratio. This points up a traffic issue borne of our marriage to our cars. On board WiFi and charging stations are great. Met some great peeps. It should prove to be a boon for businesses along the route. Plenty of parking along College. read more

Red line- 3/10. Only gave 3 stars because it was a free ride. It took me an hour and 10 minutes to get home from downtown to 46th street. We waited 35 minutes for a bus. There were 3 south bound buses that passed our station before a north bound bus came. The indy go app said the bus was on time, but unsure how that is correct if buses were supposed to be every 15 minutes. I would not ride unless I had an absolutely free afternoon with no where to be. At this point the bus is not reliable. Other opinions- there should be more seating at the bus stop. There should be reminders to let pedestrians exit the bus before pushing on. There should also be reminders to clear the doorways and move elsewhere so people can get on and off the bus easier. I saw a couple people almost miss their stop because people get on, stop immediately at exit/entrance and block it like they are catching a bouquet at a wedding. It's also difficult to tell where you are and what stops are coming up because the bus is louder than you'd expect. Hopefully this will be fixed with the non operational tvs but if not then I would suggest doing so. Last opinion is to bypass stops that people arent waiting at. There are pull ropes to request a stop so let's use those and get these buses moving more efficiently. read more

I hadn't needed/used public transportation services in nearly 2 decades. However, on February 3rd, 2021 I had a downtown appointment that I couldn't miss, yet I opted not to drive or seek parking etc., within my allotted time frame. I parked and caught the east bound 8:35 a.m. #10 from Speedway, to the very attractive transit center. The driver made me feel comfortable, as her driving/mannerisms were as expected & appreciated. (Overheard it was her birthday upon exiting, so I thanked & wished her a great day.) When my appt. was over, I was nervous about continuing my new transit experience, because it was all unfamiliar. (I love order & comprehension) I was thrilled to see drivers & staff throughout the area, which was clean with highly detailed markings. Once I questioned & confirmed whether or not I was where I should be, I caught the west bound #10 @ 10 a.m. back to my vehicle, where that driver and my passenger experience was equally favorable. I'm very appreciative of having this public transit opportunity, that made my day go smooth with no adverse incidents. read more

IndyGo consistently ensures that you arrive late to your given destination with its plentiful varieties of ways to drop you off. Here are some examples: Do you consistently use a specific stop on your daily routine? IndyGo has a solution for that. They'll move your stop with zero notice so you have to walk extra and miss the bus as it's arriving. Now that you've gotten aquatinted to the new blocks added to your trip, simply arrive at the same time every day. Simply right? Wrong. IndyGo will randomly have your bus arrive way earlier or later than it should just to spite you. But that's not all. Do any of you need to transfer halfway through your trip? We have news for you, too. IndyGo has made it so even the slightest misalignment in your trip will lead to one bus passing the stop you need to get off at so you have to wait another half an hour for the next one. But that's not all. If your bus is on time and approaching your stop, don't hedge your bets yet. Oftentimes your bus driver will completely miss your stop altogether and will completely ignore the flashing "Stop Requested" alert and keep driving despite the fact that you've gotten up and are clearly ready to step out the door. Be sure to shout at them if this happens by the way. IndyGo is awful and paints a good example of why no one uses public transport in America. read more

So not having a car in Indianapolis can prove to be difficult sometimes. I have been taking the bus for years because it is the most cost-efficient and convenient way of getting around. In the past, I've complained about some things as in those awful paper passes you can only get at the transit center or wait a thousand years for in the mail to only get damaged throughout the month of using them. I used to complain about the timing issues as it's not adequate for how late they run or how often they run. But I believe that IndyGo was aware of these problems and have been very proactive about getting these problems addressed. IndyGo has always gotten a lot of slack, but it's never been that bad. Honestly, I believe a lot of it came from people's privileges and prejudices in my personal opinion, but there have always been all types of people to ride these buses from all walks of life. It's public transportation, of course, there are negative moments you will have, but you will get this anywhere that is open to the public. Red Line came around and I think it has changed things up. These buses look extraordinary, the stations are outstanding and the timing is way better than what it was. Sometimes, there are those frustrating moments when two or three buses are going one way altogether for seemingly no reason, but other than that, it has been a massive improvement. People will whine about the tax dollars being used, people will whine about how packed the buses can be, but let them be curmudgeons. These people do not think about what others do have to go through with transportation and need to get a grip. The Red Line and other buses have been astronomically improved to what it was. I think once we get the Blue and Purple Lines in and running, transportation in Indianapolis will be put on a map with transportation. I think it has a long way to go and it's honestly should've been done YEARS ago, but I am glad we are finally moving in this direction. Finally ecstatic that there will be something reloadable that you can use as a bus pass instead of having to gallivant to the transit center to buy a mediocre paper pass or somehow to miraculously get cash and quarters for any time you need to take a trip. They have this new app coming called MyKey that I think will be a gamechanger. I wish it was available now in since I know all of the other lines are not free anymore, but it's the thought and the anticipation that counts. Also, haven't taken advantage of it yet, but I know those phone charging stations are going to come in handy for me one day since I always forget to charge my phone. read more

Rode the red line on day one! Lots of hiccups that will hopefully be ironed out! A fifteen minute wait turned into 30 to start our ride. Midway through, we had to switch buses due to mechanical issues. After departing at the Raymond Street station and enjoying a beer at Garfield Brewery, we encountered another 30 minute wait and a super crowded bus all the way back to the 66th and College. We had wanted to exit at several stations along the route but were afraid we would encounter the same wait times! I was driving west on 73rd st this morning and and as I went into the school zone in front of Westlane Middle School a city bus passed me in the turn lane and forced me into the bike lane. There was a biker in the bike lane that thankfully didnt get hit. The driver had no right of way he just didnt want to wait behind someone actually going 25 in the school zone. You know what areas your drivers drive and it should not be an issue finding out who did this. read more

Truly just have to get the word out. if I could prevent just 1 person from riding with Indygo &/or working for IndyGo, I'm satisfied. Drivers absolutely hate their jobs. Rude, dismissive, disrespectful, and I'm not exaggerating when I say they want to bring everyone down with them. I've never worked for IndyGo however, I am a consistent rider & hard working citizen. I can count on my day to be ruined by IndyGo EVERY SINGLE DAY. So many drug addicts & homeless people. overshadowing all of the competent, hard working people. And if they could simply address these issues they may start to see a positive change. But, they simply do not care enough! supervisors do not care. drivers do not care. nobody who should care actually cares. supervisors who are put in place to create structure & order just sit around with their feet kicked up and only feel the need to supervise at their discretion. Rode the Red Line from Fountain Square to Broad Ripple. Bus was on time. Bus stop extremely clean and comfortable. Bus was very clean and comfortable. IndyGo staff extremely pleasant and helpful. Bus was very quiet and sleek looking. Definitely a fan of the Red Line. Well done, IndyGo! read more

Opening date of the highly-anticipated bus rapid transit system in Indianapolis did not disappoint. Throughout Broad Ripple and Meridian Kessler the platforms and buses were entirely full of happy and excited riders. With rides being free during the month of September, residents of Indianapolis came out in droves to try out the buses. clean, quiet, and environmentally friendly buses were timely and easy to navigate. With a station being directly in front of my office, I anticipate using the bus frequently to go into Broad Ripple for lunch or down to Fountain Square for an evening out. I can't wait to ride the entire line later this week. My pre-schooler loved riding the "city bus" so we'll probably try it again tomorrow! read more

Indygo needs work on to take the stigma out of riding public transportation in Indianapolis. The Red line service is a hit or miss experience, some drivers are nice and considerate while others are the complete opposite. It is bad enough that many of the passengers smells like feet and armpits and unwashed clothes and the Red Line bus are uncleaned or someone just lathered the inside of the bus with dirty brown water or something. I just wished that the Indygo executives or whoever is in charge would actually ride the Red Line instead of just talking about it. It would be nice to see that this million dollar busses actually look and smell and provide services like a million dollars. read more

I've found IndyGo to be pretty reliable and I think they do quite a bit with the super limited funds that are available to them to operate transit in this large, sprawling city. Taking the bus in to my office downtown is really easy for me, way easier than driving, parking, and walking several blocks. When I take the bus I walk a half block to the bus stop, wait 5 min for the bus, and get off across the street from my office. Easy as pie! Be sure to get a schedule so you aren't waiting around forever and give it a try... who knows you might like it as much as I do. read more

So this is an update and I have to say the service is getting much better. I believe they are finding their stride and i have actually been picked up on time and have gotten to my destination in a timely manner... keep up the good work... read more

These drivers are horrible. Today a driver refused to stop at a stop. Because it didn't have this right sticker on it. The bus is on a detour. Have to stops don't have the sticker on it. Then they lied and said they've been doing that route for 6 years. I've been on that route for 2 years every weekday. I know they changed the drivers for the ralts. This Sunday. This is the kind of drivers we have and then I called customer service and they said yeah they don't have to stop. read more

I have been forced for the last two weeks to take the city bus due to a car accident I was in which totaled the car. I have had many uncomfortable experiences at the transit center or on a bus but this takes the cake! The bus driver of bus 17 (I want to say the badge number was 8936) at 6:15 let some drunkard onto the bus. This man was at the transit center being loud and shouting nonsense. I thought "Oh I hope he's not getting onto my bus" well as luck would have it HE DID! I hate using all capitals or excessive complaining but this was straight up negligence of the bus driver! She did not have any one else come into the bus to keep an eye on the passengers or keep things in order! She was gone for TEN WHOLE MINUTES!! Mind you I can sit in the disable seat section, I usually do this so I can see my stop better and get off the bus faster. This man was across from me, one seat over. Now I always bring my Bendy Plushy with me because of my anxiety and aspergers. I took my Bendy Plushy out of my bookbag and held it close It is super soft and comforts me. I have an intense fear/emotional reaction when a man starts yelling in that deep angry voice. I began sobbing and crying. He said we were all going to Hell and that we had the devil in us, etc! This lasted for SEVEN WHOLE MINUTES!! He was cussing and everything and I mentioned (meekly) that there are children on the bus. Then he saw my Bendy Plushy and started screaming that I had the devil in me, that I was going to Hell, etc. This just made me cry harder. I was audibly sobbing at this point. God bless that young man who told this jerk to get off the bus. He was in business attire and threatened to throw the man off the bus. Eventually they did take it outside. Five minutes later the negligent bus driver came back AND LET THE SAME GUY BACK ON!! Security did not do anything! All that happened was a 'security guard' who did not have any sort of weapon on him, only a pair of handcuffs got on the bus. He was chatting on his phone the whole time. This drunkard continued his rambling and the bus driver nor the security guard did ANYTHING as he continued to rant and rave. While I am LITERALLY SITTING ACROSS FROM THE SECURITY GUARD, MY FACE BURIED INTO MY BACKPACK SOBBING!! I started mouthing the bible verse John 14:27 to calm my nerves. Then the security guard mentioned the word 'beat' on the phone and the drunkard thought the security guard was referring to him. So the drunkard is like "You wanna threaten me?! Ya wanna fight me?!" I was having a FULL BLOWN PANIC ATTACK and was about ready to text my mom saying 'I may not make it home alive'. This man kept shouting and screaming at everyone. Eventually people started telling him to 'shut the fuck up.' So he demanded to get off the bus. We were in the middle of down town traffic at 6:35 pm! This guy then stumbles up to the driver WHILE WE ARE MOVING and DEMANDS her to pull over and let him off! He then started banging on the bus doors. I was TERRIFIED! I did not know if this man was armed with a knife or a gun! The security guard DID NOTHING! The bus driver just told the man to sit down. He didn't. Eventually we got to the end of the intersection and she let him out. I WAS STUCK INSIDE A BUS WITH THIS MAN FOR MORE THAN 45 MINUTES BECAUSE OF TRAFFIC AND NEGLIGENCE OF THE BUS DRIVER AND SECURITY GUARD!! I am a 22 year old unassuming white female! I WAS SCARED! And I could NOT get off the bus because it was my only way home and I did NOT want to wait for the next 17 bus to arrive at the transit center. I NEVER want to ride with Indygo again! NEVER!! My parents told me it was basically my fault for taking the bus home so late. I don't take the 5 o'clock buses because of traffic! NOBODY DID ANYTHING TO STOP THIS MAN!! NO SECURITY ENTERED THE BUS!! NOTHING!! I DO NOT FEEL SAFE TRAVELING ON AN INDYGO BUS!! NO MATTER WHAT TIME OF DAY IT IS!! It has been two hours since this incident and I am still crying and traumatized by it. ((Update: They let the same man back onto the bus today! He was wearing the exact same thing as yesterday save for a grey sweatjacket and brown work jacket with a logo that looks like a cauldron and there was dark brown lettering inside the logo which started with an H.
