We had a dead hazelnut tree in our yard but up against our neighbor's fence and overhanging their roof. Inexpensive Tree Care was our lowest bid with the promise to come sooner (within two weeks of our initial contact). They made two trips in one day; once to cut the tree down and another to grind our stump. The person who came out to grind our stump operated the machine with a remote control and took special care to avoid as much damage as was possible to the rest of the yard. It's a big machine and we had a narrow path but the damage was barely noticeable. We frankly expected it to be worse out of necessity but they took extreme care and did a very professional job. Top notch! I sent a quote request on a Friday at 5pm and got a call back at 7pm, resulting in a scheduled visit for the following Monday. The bid was almost a quarter of the other bids I had (for grinding down two 5.6-6.0ft diameter tree stumps). They also answered all my questions and provided lots of information regarding the stump-grinding process. The team came out a week later, ground the stumps down about 95%, leaving me to clear out the mulch so they could see what was left to grind. Four days later they came back and finished the job in an hour. Perfect!!!!! And now I have 10 yards of mulch! Do not use this company. They are untrained and unprofessional. They dropped a branch on my roof that messed up my gutter, broke my walkway pavers, killed pants that were 15 feet away from the tree and scraped a bunch of paint off my garage. They then left without saying anything which I wish I could say was the worst part but the I had to deal with the owner who I was trying to get some money back from for all of the above reasons. The owner began by denying any damage occurred. When I sent him photo proof of the damage he stopped responding. I feel like they are purposing trying to rip me off. It's been over 3 weeks and no one has called me back or scheduled any appointments! Brad, Stephanie and their crew were all awesome to work with. Brad came to survey our trees and I had a bid in hand the same day which was very reasonable. I emailed Stephanie to get a date on the calendar and she gave us a date for the very next week since an unexpected opening occurred. The crew showed up on time and were pleasant and polite despite being greeted by our rude neighbors who aggressively complained about two trees being cut down. The crew greeted our neighbors only with professionalism and kindness. The crew was a wonderful group of four brothers who we really enjoyed getting to know. They did a great job on removing our trees and then another lovely lady came to grind the stumps. She was also pleasant to work with and did a great job. I signed up for a load of bark chips to be dropped with the chip drop website noting that "it can be 5% debris" ie poorly chipped wood, trash ect. 5% I can live with a little clean up. ITC came up my handicap ramp knocked and rang the doorbell once., (obviously if you have a ramp your probably not moving quickly) I came out and they were in the street not the driveway and had the dump up but nothing had came out yet. I yelled at him to stop he looked at me on the ramp and then quickly turned to the truck and motioned up to dump. I could see from the ramp that it was totally green. Meaning all pine needles! When I approached them to speak with him, the driver moved so fast that he went up over the 4" high sides of the calming approach trying to drive off. When I wanted to discuss it with he said he would show me where I said it was okay to dump a load of 50% pine needles and illegal to dump in the street; in which the website clearly states "they can not dump in the street even at the customer's request!" When I asked him to show me walking to the truck he then stated someone would be in contact with me? When I asked for his company name he said he was not going to give it to me. Why would anyone want a load of pine needles which poison's the surrounding soil as mulch? I have now been e-mailed if I don't want it I can post it on CraigsList to have strangers come to my house to possibly remove it? Are they taking the liability? This company is not reputable, nor could I find it registered in Beaverton or Portland to do business. read more

I had these guys out in March to take down a large Doug fir that I was worried the wind was going to drop on my house. It was a sketchy job because there was no place to drop it full length or even top it. So they chunked it down 3' at a time. They cleaned up all limbs and debris and left me with the wood to cut up for firewood. They were fast and efficient and nice guys to deal with. I didn't get other bids so I can't speak to the cost, but others have since told me that the pricing was good for that type of job. read more

We had a very pleasant experience with Inexpensive Tree Care. We had a dead walnut tree removed that was located on the sidewalk strip and another tree trimmed. Rod responded quickly and gave us advice on how to get the permit for tree removal from the city. As soon as we had that, the removal was scheduled within a few days. The crew did an amazing job removing the tree carefully (around the power lines and also with all of our neighbors) and left everything cleaner than it was before. There are two aspects to tree removal: The removal of the tree, and the aftermath. As far as tree removal, Inexpensive Tree Care was professional, courteous, and quick. They did a great job removing a huge fir tree from my yard without damaging anything around the tree. The price was great. Now the aftermath: Inexpensive tree care did a rotten job. First, be aware, they do not haul the wood themselves. The company posts an add on Craigslist and has random people come pick up your wood, which is OK, but you should be aware. There were sawdust remnants EVERYWHERE following the removal of my tree--they didn't even attempt to clean up. We spent over two hours raking sawdust from the yard post removal. There were large chunks of wood debris, and even splatters of dirt clods up my fence and on my house. The workers were apparently in such a hurry to leave they couldn't be bothered to put my fence back together--I had two boards and about 20 wood screws sitting on the inside of my yard, while the fence panel was shoddily replaced with the boards missing. I sent a picture of everything, and was told, "Tree removal is messy", and that this is normal. Huh. Overall, if you're in a hurry, need a tree removed, and don't much care about the mess afterwards these guys will work for you. If you want a little more tidy clean-up, I wouldn't come here. read more

A standout part of our interaction with them was the exceptionally rude owner's daughter, who will only text you, and not speak on the phone, if she decides that the issue is not worth her time or consideration. This woman not only has no interest in providing a positive business experience, she was incredibly vicious and demeaning and clearly has no sense of basic decency. Rod was able to make the job more cost effective by adding some additional trees that needed to be removed. In addition, he offered to remove my neighbors trees which saved them money to utilize the same crew on the same day. He was very knowledgeable, honest, and detailed. The crew came out and did the job professionally, efficiently, and effectively. They even noticed a few of my other trees needed to be trimmed - great example of amazing customer service and taking care of their customers. Just had my second bad experience with this company. First off - let me say the work they did was good which is why they're getting two stars. Good crews. Quick and efficient. They have removed a total of 6 trees for me. July 2014 - my neighbor asked them for a bid. While the bidder from Inexpensive was here, I asked about adding on some work in my yard. He quoted $90 for a fir tree, $50 for an apple tree, and $210 for two quaking aspens (bigger tree than the others) totaling $350. The bid was contingent upon my neighbor accepting their bid. Also, I was told that I would be e-mailed a copy of the bid which I did not receive. Keep in mind, he was agreeing to each tree one at a time, I could have just paid $90 to get rid of the fir tree only. However, my neighbor went with another company and we agreed to use the other company... we added the removal of a 3rd quaking aspen and the bid price was $300. No brainer, one additional tree and $50 cheaper. Now remember, the bid was contingent upon my neighbor's acceptance of a bid as well. This was made clear to me as I was getting a "discount". No work date was scheduled. The evening before we were supposed to have the other company come do the work, I got a call from Inexpensive Tree Care asking for payment for the work they did. Whaaaat??? I hadn't been home all day. They took it upon themselves to go ahead and cut down the trees without my knowledge or approval. Also, I was left with the issue of having to cancel the other bid I had accepted and signed off on. Inexpensive Tree Care and I agreed on a $300 payment in line with the lower bid from the competing company. They also came and removed the aforementioned 3rd quaking aspen. Case closed, I didn't bother to leave a review b/c I figured it was a one-off due to a careless bidder (funny note, the bidder said he was glad we weren't in Lake Oswego b/c those people would have been super upset). Now fast forward to March 2015. I was doing some yard work and noticed that another one of my fir trees was leaning a bit, and thought "oh, I better get that removed". Well, as my luck would have it, Inexpensive Tree Care just happened to be working at another neighbor's house. Not realizing it was the exact same company as before (such a generic name), I asked for a quick bid since they were in the area and was hoping for a discount. Nope, no discount. $300, take it or leave it. I'd guess that $300 is a minimum fee with most tree companies and I figured I wouldn't be able to get anyone else to come out any cheaper on a solo bid. Oh well, they were here and ready so I went ahead and hired them. It only took a single tree cutter about 20 minutes to take the tree down and a couple of other guys another 10 minutes to clean up the branches. $600/hr. Must. Be. Nice. When I wrote the check, I realized that it was the same company that had bid only $90 for a similar fir tree last July. I feel ripped off. I paid the man, but I definitely feel ripped off. As usual the work was top rate pruning a very tall black walnut tree and the flexibility of scheduling, with a few of the things added in unexpectedly that come up to derail the best plans, was so appreciated and got the job done after some arrangements with a neighbor had to be made and had stopped the first scheduled date since the tree was so close to the boundary of yards. Inexpensive Tree Care was ANYTHING but!!! Run...don't walk from this company! The only saving grace was the owner emailed an apology for completely trashing and killing a beautiful 25' red maple tree. We simply wanted it thinned and pruned. Their equipment was dull which resulted in terrible shredding cuts and ultimately the desimation of a beautiful tree. The owner continued to make excuses for his crew stating they did not complete their work since they were asked to leave the job which was a complete untruth. The crew thought they were done leaving 8-10" limbs sticking out and after I asked them to go back to attempt to clean up their work, their dull equipment caused the need for the removal of a huge chunk of 1 side of the tree leaving approximately 8-10' of 1 side of the tree completely bare of any branches which will ultimately kill the tree. I asked the owner twice to let me know what they charge for removal and never heard from him again. Anything he says in some excuse or response to this review will simply be not true. Inexpensive Tree Care is one of the companies who works with ChipDrop to provide mulch to people in the neighborhood. Recently we requested a large truckload of mulch for landscaping our yard, and anyone who has used ChipDrop knows that you put in a specific field what species you do NOT want. For us we did not want invasive species like laurel or holly, and also did not want any doug fir. Well, this tree company decided to completely blow us off and delivered a MASSIVE load of chips that had all three of those species in them (TONS of laurel and holly branches/twigs/leaves - this was not an accident), and there's no WAY we are putting these in our front yard where we've worked SO hard to eliminate invasives over the past decade+. Stay FAR FAR away from a company who's clearly just looking to save themselves a buck and could care less about the customer. read more

The owner, Lauren, is a nice guy. That is the only reason they get two stars. That is all I have to say good about this company. They block driveways and refused to move. Their work tore up my yard. They cleaned up the branches, but I have holes missing patches of grass in my yard now. The problem is, I did not hire these guys. My neighbor did. So, I go to leave, and I cannot get out of my driveway, because they have two trucks blocking it. I asked one guy to please move, and he sent over some redhead guy to see what I wanted. I asked him to please move one of the trucks so I could get around, and he told me to go around. There wasn't enough room really, nor was it safe to do so. I would have probably taken off my mirror, and it was a horrible inconvenience anyway, so I told him this and that I really did not feel like fighting to get around his truck. He said he did not really feel like moving the truck. Hold on. What? Okay, so now I have to say something. I told him he was on private property and now I want both trucks off my property. He refused. So I had to call the police. They waited until after I called before moving one truck off and the other they moved but left about 2 feet of their truck on my property and then taunted me with it, honking their horn, calling me names, making sexual innuendos. I admit, I started to return their sentiment. Cop shows up and tells them to move. So they move. The owner shows up and has them clean up most of their mess. So no worries. But a lot of unnecessary crap came with a simple request to please move your truck off my property so I could leave. Do you really want this headache?
