What I did not expect was to witness a living portrait of hope -- one painted not by speeches or statistics, but by the quiet courage of families who had walked through darkness and found their way back into the light. The most striking part of the evening was who the Mission chose to honor. Not donors. Not sponsors. Not civic leaders. Instead, the spotlight rested on parents and children who had once stood at the edge of homelessness and despair. They were welcomed not as recipients of charity, but as members of a community whose resilience deserved celebration. Their presence changed the room. It reminded us that hope is not an abstract virtue; it is a lived experience, often carried by those who have suffered the most. One mother spoke about arriving at City Rescue Mission with nothing but her children and a determination to keep them safe. She turned 5 just a few days after the kindergarten cut off, and we couldn't do the half-day Pre-K in MPS, so we wanted to find a great place for the alternative. It was so easy getting a time to have a walk through, and the staff was super helpful before we even enrolled. We toured one other place, but got a much better vibe from the people at Kindercare. It was no problem to get enrolled and start her on the date we needed to. She LOVES going to "school" and learns all sorts of things every day! The teachers and staff as so so so awesome. Taylor and Tia are extremely helpful and welcoming every day. Her teacher, Morgan, is so kind and works very hard for and with the kids. She is TOP NOTCH! Betty always makes sure the kids have nice, nutritious meals. The whole staff is just amazing. I love that there is an app that allows Morgan to send photos and updates throughout the day so we know what our little girl is up to that day. They also have a strict policy on who enters the building and can pick up/check out the kids, which is extremely helpful in our particular situation. It is evident that they really care about our child and make sure she is doing ok in all the ways. She LOVES Kindercare and so do we!!!!!!!

My step daugher is always with one of us. We never go near any of the weights. We sent on a bench until either mine or my wife's massage appointment is over. Then she's out od the building. She's always quiet. She doesn't run around causing chaos. She might be in the building for 20 minutes max. There is nothing posted anywhere on ages that are allowed in the building.
