I usually find it hard to stick with fitness classes, as I need to feel comfortable within a given environment and around the attendees. Angel made me feel like I was part of the family and still managed to give me personal attention even with a class full of people. He has this relationship with everyone, not to mention the support I received from the other members. Angel's classes are setup with HIIT circuits with cool downs that actually produce results. I struggled for years with push-ups and managed to build enough strength to get them done. My clothes got loose and my family and friends raved about my progress. I was so relieved, as I have struggled with my weight since I was a child and finally received results. You definitely should try HDT out and see for yourself!

I'm sorry for the length but you have to read this until the end! Weight has always been a sensitive topic for me! I've never been that "skinny girl" even though I've played sports and even lifted weights in high school. But last year was it for me. I turned 34 and hit my ultimate high of 203lbs standing at a mere 4'11" inches tall. Needless to say I looked like a meatball. I was borderline liver cirrhosis and I had a ton of other issues that are no longer. I was depressed and knew I had to do something! Slowly but surely I tried and lost a bit of weight but plateaued immediately and became discouraged! One day as I was getting the inspection of my car done at Jerry and Sons on Bronxdale I decided to walk around the block for "cardio" and saw my cousin who I hadn't seen in years working out. I said hi and realized she looked so different. Her body was changing. All of a sudden Thomas steps out and introduces himself! He told me to come to the gym and try it out and he guaranteed that I wouldn't regret it and boy I have to say and I'll put it in bold letter just for him "THOMAS M. YOU WERE RIGHT!" Every since my journey at Untamed Studio began on July 4th, of this year I've laughed, I've cried, and have all types of emotions! But you Thomas M. are an absolute God sent, a blessing, and a life changer!!!! I cannot begin to explain the appreciation and gratitude I have for you, YOU SIR HAVE changed my life! However, I found myself there at 8am, looking in the mirror and wondering how I had gotten there. How had I let my body take over control to the point where I no longer recognized the person looking back at me? The hard work began that very day and I have not looked back since.   While I have encountered a few of the trainers over the past two months, this review is specifically for our personal trainer, Thomas M. (also co-founder and owner of the Studio). He has been a source of strength for me and I will forever be grateful to him for his tough love in the gym but also for his words of encouragement on days that I felt that I could no longer move forward. He constantly stays by our side during our workouts, fixes our form and makes sure we are doing the exercises correctly to limit the chance of injury.   The gym has a plethora of classes and trainers to satisfy anyone no matter what your physical goal. There are personal training opportunities as well as group bootcamp classes. Alongside Thomas, John G. is the other co-founder and owner of the Studio. He is an added layer of support and serves as very needed comedic relief. Another trainer we were introduced to was Ardi N. who covered one of Thomas' sessions. He didn't skip a beat and trained us as if we were his own, regular clients. The degree of care behind keeping a client on schedule speaks to the professionalism and commitment of the Untamed team. Your body and your mind will be pushed to places it has never been before. There are days when you feel damn proud of yourself and there are days when you want to drop your equipment and walk out. However, the one consistent thing is the unwavering support from the trainers at this gym.  It's remarkable what a little squeeze of the shoulder and a simple, "come on, you got this" will do for you.   If you are genuinely ready to change your life, leave your ego at the door and put in hard work, sweat and the occasional tears, this is the place for you. The owners are the most caring and nicest…read morepeople that you will ever find at a crossfit gym and if you think that you can find owners who watch their athletes and focus on safety as much as these guys then I challenge you to do so ( you will fail so don't waste your time) . Do you know how many people travel out of their way to come to this gym? That right there just proves that not all crossfit boxes are created equal. The workouts are challenging and kick my butt and the people that I work out with have become some of my really great friends. To top this all off how many other gyms have mobility built into their programming. Fair warning: Crossfit is a commitment (you need time and a consistent showing to succeed)...The programming is well thought out and scheduled and requires you to show up regularly. You get out what you put in. One last thing: it's frustrating to see the post from Colette H especially because she has knocked the gym without ever stepping foot inside or trying one of our classes. Without knowing any context I can guarantee the owners were not rude. Unfortunately, programs fill up and are first come first serve and I'm sure they were just suggesting that you consider joining the next program. On 1/28/24 I authorized max to charge my card $1,604 for personal training sessions. Everything was actually ok for the first month so when February came around I decided to get a membership for $200 a month for 4-30 min sessions. I thought I could save a few dollars so decided to sign up. I gave Max my credit card and he had said to me that I could actually do 2- 1 hour sessions since I was in pretty good shape. I was ok with that. When I got home I did some calculations and realized it didn't actually make sense to do the membership. So for my following appointment after my session I said " I don't want to do the membership anymore can you please cancel it" and max said " don't worry about it you didn't do the paperwork so you don't have to cancel it" I said ok and I was fine with that. I go do surgery I go back to the gym months later, but before I even go back to the gym I text max over and over for literally weeks saying hey I wanted to finish up my package so I can be done with my sessions. Weeks later max finally send me a text that I had 6-1 hour sessions left because of the membership I had paid for. Great at that point I was only charged $200 for march. I was like great. After that text max goes back into my card and starts charging me a $200 a month fee and I knew nothing about it. I didn't catch it for months because I don't use the card and couldn't understand where the balance was coming from. After I specifically sent this man multiple text messages that I want to finish my sessions and be done he goes behind my back and bills me for a membership . I have since asked max for the paperwork that I signed for this membership but it does not exists. Now I have to take off a whole day from work to go to court to sue this man for my money back. Max Pierre is a thief and he's unprofessional. This man was either late for every session, ended the sessions early or sometimes both, he would be going to answer the phones during my paid sessions, assisting workers with fixing the treadmill, it was always something with him. all while I waited for him on my paid time. Seriously people should stay away from this gym and this man. He can't be trusted. I am going to make it my business to go on every platform I can find to warn people about this man's business practices. Please be careful out here. I am now out of $800 because of this man .and I will now have to lose a day from work to sit in court all day. When these companies ask you to write reviews when you are a new customer don't write them wait a few months to see what kind of business people really operate. FYI I spoke to a trainer that use to work there and he told me that max does this all the time people ask to cancel memberships and he does not do it. Apparently people go on vacation and months later find out this man has been stealing from them. Also if you are a personal trainer be very careful he owes a previous trainer $7000.00 for services rendered and as yet to pay.

At One2one there is always a very personalized session tailored to my specific needs and fitness goals. I love my progress and love working out with trainers who really know their trade. It was a highly effective workout in a serene atmosphere overlooking the Mamaroneck Harbor. I always look forward to my workouts there.
