I feel like he did everything he could have done but I was still left with a fairly stressful situation. I coordinated with USA Auto Transport in May to do a July pickup for my car to bring it from Virginia to Oregon. Price was fair (about $1800) and I was able to select a 3 day window for pick up. We decided on July 5th - July 7th. My plan was to fly out early July 8th or late July 7th depending on pickup time. On paper this was a perfect schedule. July 5th comes and I hadnt heard anything from the driver yet so I called USA Auto Transport and spoke with one of Nick's colleagues who let me know the driver would call me when theyre about an hour away. I thought that was perfect since it gave me time to still to errands while waiting for the driver. In the afternoon of July 6th while Im working with my household goods mover, Nick calls me and lets me know that theyre not able pick up my car anymore. I asked if it was a money issue or a time issue and he said hes unsure why. That's not really something you want to hear less than 48 hours before youre supposed to fly out across country. He tried working with their logistics teams and drivers to see what happened but we never got a clear answer. His initial advice to me was that he recommended I leave my car in Virginia with someone (not really an option since I dont have anyone Im close enough with to watch my car) or find a new company to ship. Again - with less than 48 hours before my cross county move I was told to find a new vendor. Let that sit with you. In fairness to Nick he did try to get me another date to ship my car but I would be long gone from Virginia by then. I ended up having to quickly call half a dozen businesses before they closed for the day to see if someone could ship my car. To say this was stressful is an understatement. In the end I have to pay almost double for another company to ship my car. Their employees are nice but please, save yourself the headache of a last minute cancellation.

I was quoted a price and pickup / delivery for having my vehicle picked up in Phoenix, AZ and dropped off in Herndon, VA. I was called the day before the pickup by their office and told the driver would pickup the car in the morning and the driver would call me about an hour before to confirm. Call came in the morning and the driver showed up shortly after, inspected the vehicle, loaded it on the trailer and told me the date it would be in Virginia. I booked my flight and low and behold the driver called me on the morning of the promised delivery date to let me know he would be there in an hour. Vehicle dropped off and we both inspected it To make sure all was good (and also confirmed mileage so I could see it was not driven anywhere in between). I was going down to work for 6 months and shipping the vehicle would have been much cheaper then renting a vehicle or using Uber. Six months later I reached out to them and even though pricing had gone up do to driver shortages / rising gas prices and other factors they told me they would honour the old pricing. Reverse order of all above and my car was back safe and sound on the day promised. Such good communication both from Nick the rep and their office and also from the driver and all the stress was taken off my shoulders using them. Other companies will fool you by quoting lower and then charging you more after or the driver will simply not show up at all. Save yourself both heartache and headache and use these guys. Knowing my budget was of great concern he explained once he had eyes on the items at the storage facility he would give a more accurate price quote. He then told that There was a shipment going out in two days and he would like to have my items on that ship. My initial response was that is such short notice I don't think I can do that. His response was he would give me a 10% discount if I were to make that shipping date. I then agreed to have my items ready for pick up on that Sunday Sept. 14th (we were on the call that Friday evening Sept. 12th). I was able to scramble and arrange to have my items ready for this two day notice pickup. They came to pick up the items however the representative was not there to confirm the cost as I did not receive a call from him as he promised. He purposely was not there so he did not want to give me a price. If he had quoted me $2869 of course I would have said NO and went with a different company. He waited till they had my items in their possession. This is when all the foolishness took place. I received a call on Monday from the office stating that my invoice was ready and they had sent pictures of the items wrapped up on pallets. To my utter disbelief the invoice was $2869. I told the woman on the phone That is not what we spoke about on the phone, your rep. said it would be no more than $1500. She said no and that if I wanted I could pay the rest in two weeks. I told her I don't have that all I have is $1500 and she said she would take that payment. I didn't understand what was happening so I reluctantly agreed. This company is trying to extort me by holding the items and demanding more money than what was originally discussed. I was taken advantage of me they knew I had a budget but still tried to squeeze money out of me. They are current holding my items hostage at the shipping yard in Jamaica 10/8.

I hired these movers because they were associated with Mayflower, and I read for the best moving experiences hire a big company, like Mayflower. I thought by paying a premium for a brand like Mayflower I would get a low stress experience... NOT. This place is an utter scam. The whole move was ACTUAL HELL. First the estimate was based on a Zoom call. I was moving out of a row home in Baltimore city. I showed the coordinator each room on video and we talked about what furniture would be taken. Ultimately the quoted me around $5,000 for the 1,500 mile trek, and I signed the bid. In the end the total move cost nearly $10,000 because they WOEFULLY underestimated my move, likely on purpose to win the bid. I'm fine paying for my weight, but don't lowball me. I would have sought other estimates if I was told $10k off the bat. On the actual moving day the movers showed up about 8 hour late. They were supposed to come early in the AM and didn't show up to nearly 5 pm. Once they arrived the labor had no idea that this was a whole house move. They were clearly trying to get off for the day, and called their manager to get the moved rescheduled. NO WAY. I needed to be out of the house by tomorrow and on my way to start my job on Monday. I had to FIGHT TOOTH AND NAIL just to get them to follow through with loading the truck. The coordinator was incredibly rude and really tried to force me to move another day. Then came loading. The movers wanted to stop short of loading all my stuff. I said NO WAY. I paid for the WHOLE HOUSE to get loaded. I again had to fight with the loaders and coordinator at VIP to get them to continue loading. They were claiming the load was over the estimate. THE ESTIMATE THEY PROVIDED AND UNDERSHOT. NOT MY FAULT. In the end they got most things loaded, but I had to leave things behind. We ended up fight over each and every box. ACTUAL HELL. Then the delivery. The stuff came INCREDIBLY late. I got $900 back because it took like 40+ days to show up to my new house. When it arrived it had clearly been loaded and unloaded many times and kept in hot storage in the summer. Actual plastic bins HAD MELTED. So many items were damaged. A leg off an expensive midcentury teak table splintered off. A drawer broken on a $2,000 dresser. My bed frame was missing parts and completely broken. SO MANY BOXES OF SHATTERED STUFF, which had been meticulously packed with plenty of bubble wrap. Clearly boxes had been thrown. What did I get for all my broken stuff? Less than $200. I never thought hiring white glove movers would be SO TERRIBLE. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BOOK. Feels like an utter scam.

We are a successful, older, disabled couple and have moved on from cheap "glued sawdust" furniture to solid wood and antiques. We moved many of the most expensive items ourselves, however we could not move the larger items nor the less expensive items. Almost every one of our antiques was damaged. We paid for "full replacement" coverage with the understanding that we would receive full replacement cost for our items. The initial offer was pennies on the dollar with many claims denied even though photos of the items without damage were taken prior to moving and were provided. The reason the claims were either denied or provided reduced valuation was we didn't have receipts or their expert determined the damage was pre-existing. They sent someone out to inspect the damaged items, but apparently the person did not get a good description of our items even though they took and provided many photos. We still don't know if their "expert" was the person they sent out for the inspection, who had two whole years' experience fixing sofas, or if the expert was someone who looked at the photos taken by the sofa repair guy in some far away office. We disputed the valuation on many of the items. EVERY item we disputed was then demanded for salvage. Sounds a whole lot like a reprisal decision to me for demanding the company provide what was paid for. Due to several of our antiques needing rather extensive repairs and the exact items are not easily found we were forced to accept quarters on the dollar or face years in arbitration with our house a mess, because we were unable to move anything from where the company placed them. It has been almost 3 months since the claim for damage to our house was approved and I'm still waiting for our money. The damage to our household goods will cost in the neighborhood of $25k-$30k to fix or replace. Our settlement was just over $10k. I'll hire two drunks and rent a moving truck next time and probably be happier. United Van lines and Mayflower are the same company, just different names.

I skid in the rain and hit the guardrail, someone called cops, state police came due to state property, i said i would call AAA and they refused and said they couldn't wait for an hour and their towing service would come sooner. They towed, normal tow, nothing unusual or major, facility was 5 miles away. Called the next morning to pick up, and was blown!!! They quoted me $600 for the tow how in the world does anyone charges $600 for an overnight tow? When asked they said "accident" tows are different, how??? Charged me for 20 miles, cleanup charge $125, admin fee $35 and accidental tow charge $299" i called many tow companies to double check and also the state police and they all wondered why the charges were so much. Fraud written all over!! Spreading the word, when cops tow check the company they r using first.
