Stopped by here while driving down PCH. I've passed it many times and always have wanted to stop by. Glad I did today. This place is like Alice in Wonderland as you go down a rabbit hole. I originally thought it was just downstairs and was about to walk out..then I heard voices upstairs discovered all the surfboards..then the snowboards..then the used boards. It was awesome! Have been looking to surf more vertical and in the pocket so I was looking at the Pyzel Phantom online. It was nice to come into the shop and have staff that surf and are familiar with the board shapes. I believe I was talking with Chase (tall guy with long hair) and he was knowledgeable, helpful and honestly a lot nicer than many other surf shops which I appreciate. This store is so helpful and awesome. I had snowboard bindings and I needed to identify the size. They did not have any markings so I stopped in at this place which I found on Yelp. The person that assisted me on my venture was Scott and can I say that he was awesome! He offered to help me out. And... I was so impressed by this amazing customer service. Scott's expertise was incredible. He looked at the binding and was able to guesstimate the size. Then he was conscience enough to grab another pair of bindings that he had in the store and put the two bindings side by side to do a comparison to verify the size. Broke a fin on my board and stopped by the closest shop. I'm pretty new to surfing and bought my board used from a friend. All the fins were on incorrectly so they fixed that for me right away. The customer service was top notch and had a great time speaking with them and getting tons of info on the types of boards I should be using and types of waves to use them on. The owner shapes all the boards himself and you can tell he's passionate about helping people in the sport. Most surf shops only sell packs of 4 fins which can be a little expensive but they had a better price than all the shops I've gone to and even had a box of single fins upstairs that they were able to hook me up with. Great experience, I'll definitely be going here for my surf and snowboard needs! read more

Love this place! And honestly, it was my first time visiting here. Lots of good things to say, including the staff are great--- Chance is SO GREAT. I took the big leap to get my first (foamie) board and a new (and thicker) 4-3 full length wetsuit. I wandered in on this early Black Friday morning, and Inflight Surf Shop was the only physical store I wandered in-- and really the one stop shop that I needed. Thankfully they had 4-3 wetsuits in hand, and got to try it on. Chance helped me out in making sure it was the right fit and help me zip up, and didn't press me on purchasing. I liked what it looked like on me, so it was all gravy on that end anyway. I did come in looking for a specific Wave Bandit design but honestly, just finding a 9 foot board was the bare minimum key for me today and glad a fun other design was available (a 9 foot electric yellow/magenta and black stripe Odysea)! Chance installed my three fins, helped me pick out a white leash, and even helped me put the board into my car. All around, it was an easy morning and the easiest purchase I made today. I felt taken care of. I didn't quite catch the name of one of the owners, but he was so wonderful too! He was around as I picked out the board, and was also the one who let me know about the Odysea they had in storage/in the back. Super convenient with them being right on pch, so even if you're heading further south, can stop by and grab whatever you need. I sent a client/buddy of mine for a snowboard tune up/wax last week and he'd never been to a local shop like inflight. My daughter-in-law informed me that my 12-year-old grandson who will be 13 in December wants a surfboard for his birthday/ Christmas gift. Right away. I'm thinking $300 to $600 for a decent board. I called ahead of time and explained my situation to them. My grandson is a football and great baseball player! A natural athlete. He's also a good snowboarder. The woman who answered the phone put me on hold to talk to the board guys upstairs. Just came back 3 minutes later to tell me they had a $250 6 ft foam fun board that they would sell me for $100. In I agreed and once I got double I was very happy with the board, a trifin which came with the fins and a foot pad. The shy I checked to see what the cost for a board bag were and they had them on sale for $60. I cannot tell you how gratified I was not only with the product but with the incredible customer service. They said they would hold it for me as I said, I would drive from Laguna Beach to pick it up. It was also raining that day they had the fan with my name on it. Love this mom and pop crew. They definitely took their time with me and made sure I found what I came for. At 6'7" I wasn't sure if I'd ever find a 2mm full body wetsuit that would fit, but they had one! Actually they had a few options in my size! Brilliant. I got a free sticker on my way out and a backup bottle of sunscreen, because you know "always wear sunscreen". I drive by here from time to time. Super friendly, knew a lot about the area and local surf spots and people. He asked our names and where we were from, etc. He told us about the store's history. Oh my goodness, I LOVED this store. I just bought a new board today here. ALL the staffs were SUPER nice and helpful. But Daniel helped me to pick a board for myself. I was shocked to find out the employees don't wear masks in here. Found out after the fact when one of them approached me. I received good customer service but felt awkward about being inside with droplets floating around my head, while the sales rep. Spoke to me. Maybe they should have a sign in the front like "mask free zone" or "beware anti mask workers up in here." Just to give a heads up to the customers. That would be great! read more

Against my better judgment I went to HB with a few questions about ...LOST surfboards, board fitting, and wetsuit selections. I am not new to surfing but it's been a few years and it wasn't difficult to see board technology had changed some. I went to the two biggest stores on main street HB. I wasn't impressed with the customer service at all. In fact I didn't feel welcomed at all - more a burden. I wasn't asking for the moon but rather some direction. As you can imagine I left those stores very discouraged but determined to find someone that can help me out. It had been some time since I had been through Seal Beach and thought about a store I use to visit and purchase from years ago. I wasn't even sure if they were still around but found them online. As well I discovered they carried ...LOST Surfboards - bam. "Inflight Surfboard" They were on the list and I was on my way there. Upon walking in I was greeted by a person working there. I was given the layout of the store and I was on my way upstairs to see the boards they had. I wasn't even near the board section and I was greeted by another friendly hello. He introduced himself as Daniel. I asked if they had a specific board and was told yes. He took the section and asked me a couple questions as I checked over the board. Questions I had in mind to ask but was sizing up the vibe at this store. I explained my situation, time away from surfing, and what I was trying to accomplish with my visit to the shop. Daniel said I picked out a great board and totally understood why I thought a particular board would be good for me. He gave me another option with the same manufacture and said based on what I shared the "Rad Ripper" would be better suited for me. He spent a good 5-10 minutes explaining differences in boards. He evenHe is very good at listening and turning that into a selling point. Not once did I ever feel like I was not welcomed or asking some lame question. He wears his passion for surfing on his sleeve. I've had my new board out a couple times now. Very happy with this purchase and the vibe of this store. I've been back and met the owners by accident shopping recently. They too share a wealth of information and are super friendly. Not hard to see why the staff here enjoys what they do! This review is long overdue. I bought my surfboard here in December. I was looking for a smaller board with some buoyancy. The gentleman that helped me find the perfect board was patient, and extremely knowledgeable regarding surfboards and accessories. He showed my fiancé and the upstairs area that had an extensive variety of surfboards. He meticulously picked a few that he knew would suit my needs. I ended up getting a beautiful hybrid fish board. This store has a tremendous selection of literally anything and everything you'd need to get into surfing. They have every type of board, fin, leash, rash guard, wet suit, accessory, hat and clothing you could possibly need. The store staff is incredibly helpful, accommodating and unintimidating. They assist you with purchase recommendations, but don't pressure you to buy. Daniel and Scott were really easy to talk to and really listened when I had questions. Don't go anywhere else.
