I did not encounter a single worker that did not treat me kindly and efficiently. Dr. Jason Rogart performed my minimally invasive procedure. He did a fantastic Job. I had a minimum discomfort for one day. Having had over 6 surgeries in my life, it was truly remarkable. Bravo to all of you! Most Sincerely, Adele C. Lee

Capital Health Medical Center is one of those places no one ever hopes to review. A hospital visit…read moreis never on anyone's list of pleasant experiences, and an emergency room visit even less so. The very act of being there means something has gone wrong. Still, when my wife experienced a medical event serious enough to require admittance, I found myself deeply grateful for the people working behind those walls. From the moment she arrived, her symptoms were taken seriously. She was pulled into triage almost immediately, and within minutes, she was in an emergency room bed with a team already in motion. The attending physician was remarkable, the kind of person who makes you believe that medicine is still both science and calling. Every nurse, technician, and aide who crossed our path treated her with care and patience, and treated me with empathy that felt entirely genuine. Even beyond the clinical side of things, there was an atmosphere of kindness. The security guards greeted people with a calm professionalism that felt reassuring rather than imposing. The men and women working in the cafeteria were unfailingly warm, small moments of humanity in the middle of long hours of worry. When my wife was moved to a room in the IU, it was clear that the amenities were not the hospital's strong suit. It was clean, functional, but bare. No television, no real distractions, just the steady hum of machines and the odd rhythm of hospital life. Still, when you are dealing with matters of health and survival, the absence of cable television does not feel like much of a tragedy. I have read the low ratings, and I understand where they might come from, but our experience was very different. Four stars for a hospital that seems to have its priorities in order, staffed by people who still remember that patients are human beings first and foremost.

The nurse practitioner that I saw (Leema Mathews) was wonderful. She spent more than 30 minutes…read morewith me, and was kind, respectful, and thorough. In addition to three tests (Flu, Covid, and Strep), which all came out negative, she checked my lungs, my lymph nodes, etc. etc. She took the time to explain (and print out) what things I had been doing that I should continue, what I should change (and why). She also wrote out a scrip for an anti-biotic, for me to use just in case the new treatments do not have any effect after two more days. She even sent a scrip to my regular pharmacy for some things that are available over the counter, in case that would help me to get them with prescription coverage. So, overall: a great experience while I was feeling pretty crummy. She was professional and empathic. Much more than at urgent care locations, such as Carbon Health. My new go to plan will be to avoid "urgent care" places and go to CVS minute clinics instead.

A mild case but the big "19" indeed. Where did I shove my stash of masks? What previously agreed to holiday mirth will now be foregone with (almost) regrets? I can't say I'm that broken up about it. It's a Dickensian Christmas for me, sipping soup swaddled in some moth-eaten blanket. Is that Jacob Marley I hear jangling up the stairs. Humbug. Oh yeah CVS, they were swell. Five easy stars.

FAIL! FAIL!!--Two tries to schedule the Flu Shot. The evening before the first scheduled…read moreappointment (for Sept 25), I got a call saying the High Dose Flu Shot for Seniors was NOT available. We will call you when we have them and you can reschedule. I received a call saying the HD Flu Shots were in and made an appointment for Oct 7, 2020 10:40 AM (today). On my way DRIVING to the appointment, a text message came in saying I am a valued customer and the Minute Clinic would get to me ASAP. My cell phone a minute or two later started ringing. As I DO NOT have hands-free calling ability, I had to wait until I got to CVS. I tried redial and just got the regular store pharmacy and I'd have to redial and punch in the extension (they couldn't transfer it to that extension???!!!). As I was AT THE DOOR of the Minute Clinic, I just knocked. The woman who answered ultimately told me that they DO NOT have the High Dose Flu Shots for Seniors and that when they have them available, I should schedule an appointment. I quite exasperatedly said that is what happened the previous time I scheduled and was told that the HD Flu Shots WERE IN and scheduled today's appointment! I suggest that CVS Minute Clinic set aside a day of the week (Wednesday or Thursday??) and a two hour segment for SENIORS ONLY and make sure they would have the required number of doses (plus some for 'walk-ins')! BTW--The email address minutecliniccare@cvs.com DOES NOT WORK Undeliverable!!
