This woman! She is a true healer, as most of the other Yelpers have said already. She's trained in all sorts of massage styles, plus energy work (Reiki). You don't go in and order off of a menu. By all means, tell her what physical issues you're experiencing/have experienced, weak points and what you're looking to get out of your session together if it's something specific. Then...just lay down on her table (which is as comfy as a pillow-topped bed) and let her do her thing. She senses what your body needs and tailors the massage to that. She has been doing this for a very long time and is, I think, naturally gifted as well. The last time I got a massage/energy work done with her I was in a complete state of relaxation for about 3 hours following my appointment. Inge Lise is something special. Certainly. This is not your typical massage. Yes you will leave feeling relaxed and yes it will be wonderful but Inge Lise is so much more. -Favorite parts: I love the feeling of starting a massage on my back and ending face down. This is just the way Inge works. She begins with a relaxing neck massage and aromatherapy and it sets a wonderful tone for the whole massage. -The massage table is not basic, it's comfortable and feels more like a bed than a table. -The massage itself progresses and Inge Lise focuses on the areas of that need attention but without too much, or too little pressure. She has just the right amount of time on every area and I had to force myself not to fall asleep because this was one of the best massages I have experienced. I know that phrase gets bandied around a lot but I have adjusted all of my previous massage ratings based on this one. Inge Lise is the top. -The hot stones were icing. It wouldn't matter if she used them or not, it's her hands the make the massage. She's currently located next to HUSH salon on 35th st so the address may need to be updated. Ever had an argument with a therapist during a massage? me either, until going here.. I'll explain. I unfortunately bought a groupon for 2, 70 min CUSTOMIZED massages. Since moving to Austin, I have been driving to San Antonio, but thought I would save myself a little time in traffic and since the reviewed on here are good, I though I would give it a try. I arrived at 350 for a 4:00 appt. Be aware that there is little to no parking available, I had to circle the block twice to find a spot. After filling out some paper work and using the restroom (which was dingy) I was called back to my appt with no introduction and was told to lie face up. I have spent a lot of money on massages both with big chains and private, but never have I not been asked what type of pressure/massage I would like. Anyways, I tell her that I prefer a lot of pressure (since, I did purchase a customized massage) and she bluntly tells me "you get what you get" and "I haven't been doing this for 35 yrs by giving clients what they think they need. The massage is over very quickly, by the time I am dressed and walk out the door it is 4:45, not even an hour after I had arrived. I realize that most massages are 50 min scheduled on the hr, but they are advertised as such. At the end of the appt, I ask didn't I buy the 70 min massage? thinking maybe there were other options and maybe a mistake and she says "what do you want"? Not knowing what to say and not wanting to make matters worse I just left. I already had the 2nd massage scheduled, did not receive a reminder call. When I show up, she says that she didn't think I would show, so she didn't bother calling. Great, thanks for making me feel welcome. I tell her that I would just like to relax. Half way through the massage she says to me "can you just relax" and when I tell her that is what I am trying to do, she tells me I can just leave now if I want. Honestly, I felt completely vulnerable (since I am laying there naked) and the way she treated me bordered on harassment. I really could go on and on. The sheets are rough as well as her hands and her fingernails kept poking me. She totally skipped over my hands, forarms, shoulders and feet. The room is not spa like at all, the table has egg crate like foam mattress cover on it (I didn't think about this while I was there, but impossible to sanitize between clients), and I could hear the front desk arguing with someone on the phone during my appt. I love patronizing small business owners and even have a gift certificate to a chain that I haven't used yet, but I guess the down side is that when you go to a private business there really is no one monitoring quality control or patient satisfaction. I have no idea if this groupon is still available, but purchase at your own risk. It is not worth saving a couple bucks, in fact I have since found a great private massage therapist right down the street, that will give you the exact massage you want for the groupon price here. This was the worst experience/customer service I have ever experienced. read more

I have been going to Inge-Lise for several years and she is wonderful! I look forward to my weekly massage and I come away from there in an altered state of relaxation and bliss...it's too wonderful to adequately describe. I was unsure of what to expect from a healing hot stone massage. A Groupon was purchased for me as a gift. When I arrived, the other masseuse there greeted me and was very kind letting me know to sign in and that Inge-Lise will be with me shortly. It's a small area but calming and comfortable place. Inge-Lise greeted me and got straight to the massage. The table was clean, comfortable and warm. She asked if I had any areas that she needed to be aware with. She didn't ask me what type of pressure I liked and I wasn't inclined to tell her. She was really mindful of my body and gave me exactly the right pressure. I'm really surprised reading any negative reviews on here. I am not educated on healing massages but left wanting to know more. She was so kind and left me feeling like she was intentional about healing my body. I will definitely visit again. read more

Groupon contacted the business and asked them to call me. They did not call me back. This was a terrible experience and I will be looking for another masseuse.
