Still now, two weeks after completion, finding trim unattached and finding handles on cabinets attached with the wrong screws. Inconsistent quality of work. Poor communication/coordination with subcontractors. We acquired several quotes and this was not the cheapest. Equally important is that they're genuine Buffalo, good-neighbor types. My wife and I were trying to paint the exterior of our house on Hoyt Street Aztec brick -- an orange. After application to much of the facade, John contacted me while I was in Ithaca to advise against the color and he sent photos. Ultimately John made a recommendation to a beautiful gray/green. He saved the house from turning into a pumpkin. A week later we started to paint my principal residence a vinyl safe green. After the facade was done we realized we didn't like it. Again we had him switch to the gray/green. He could have jacked up the price in either situation to make more money, but instead he only charged the cost of more paint and a few bucks to cover his guys time. That's how it's supposed to be, but not always how it is. If you don't have to use somebody else, don't.

Just recently we had Vladimir and Andy put in a new composite deck off the patio doors. Just gorgeous. The newest project by Vladamir and Andy was taking out a Jacuzzi tub. They put in floor tiles, drywalled, used subway tiles and a soaker tub was installed. Also had the sink faucets changed out to match the new tub. The bathroom was painted and now I have a fabulous up to date bathroom. Dave, my project manager was very professional and addressed all concerns about the deck and bathroom. We were quoted for a new roof on our home in April 2025 and work began soon after. The workers had total disregard for our property. They stomped across our front garden, left their empty cans in our children's sandbox, and left nails just all over. They also smashed and snapped a huge limb off of our lilac bush (I watched them do this carelessly). They left extra pieces of roofing on the roof that blew off into the yard as well as a significant amount of nails on top of the roof of our porch. I understand the work can be messy, but this seemed outrageous. I was picking nails off our driveway for months afterward. The real issues started this winter. We live in Colden, NY and are used to harsh winters with an old roof. However, you'd think after almost $30k for a brand new roof you wouldn't have to worry about leaking/ insane ice issues on it. We have had leaking in the past that we were told would be remedied with the new roof. Instead, the leaking has been significantly worse this year causing more damage through our walls and ceilings. The first time they sent a repairman out to address the issue I was not asked if we were home or if they could come on the property. They called and told me (again, not asked) they'd be at our house in 20 minutes. While I appreciate the quick response, I am a SAHM with two littles and really did not feel comfortable receiving a call that someone would be coming into my home while I was home by myself. In addition to this, they gave the repairman the wrong address and he ended up stuck in my neighbor's driveway which was completely torn up when they pulled him out. The repairman did nothing but take photos of the house and shrug. He told me he couldn't do anything because the amount of ice on the roof would further damage it. The second time this happened, he took a ladder up to look at the issue and told us it was because of the siding. Our siding is old, however we are not convinced the siding is the issue. He found more pieces of roof that'd blown off in our yard and told us he was going to leave to reshape them and come back later that day to reattach them. He never came back, and we never heard from anyone again.
