The name alone had me hooked. Inglorious Funnels--a funnel cake and churro food truck cleverly themed after Inglourious Basterds--was too good to pass up for a movie buff with a sweet tooth like me. The branding is hilarious, and their commitment to the bit is impressive (yes, the menu items are named after characters from the film). The Food: I ordered The Hicox--a funnel cake topped with caramelized apples, whipped cream, and caramel. Think of it as the lovechild of a funnel cake and an apple pie, and it totally delivered. The cake was hot and crisp, while the toppings were cool and creamy. The contrast in temperature and texture? Chef's kiss. The only thing missing was ice cream. Turns out The Landa is the same dish but with a scoop of ice cream on top. Rookie mistake--but now I know what I'll be ordering next time. The Service: Spot-on. The woman working the window was warm, funny, and genuinely kind--just the kind of person you want greeting you from a food truck. I think it's a husband-and-wife team running the show, and they deserve applause for both their food and their vibe. I was cruising the bike path and I was craving a funnel cake. I think there's another funnel cake truck but I went with this one because I saw someone pass by with one and it looked good and fresh. So glad I came. I got the basic funnel cake. Only powdered sugar and whip cream. A side of condensed milk. Service was good. Very nice and helpful lady working the register. So shout out to her. I highly recommend this place. Next time I'm in the area and I'm craving a funnel cake, I'm coming here to try the other ones. Keep up the good work. I really enjoy my funnel cake. This is a food truck located by the Pike in LB. We came on a Sunday and split a large Landa for $15 between two people but it can easily be split between 4 people because it's huge!! Definitely getting bang for your buck. There were tons of apples in ours so they didn't skimp out on the toppings! We got our food in about 10 minutes. There's a 50 cent charge if you use credit card so bring cash if that's something you're worried about. Excited to try the different flavors the next time I'm in LB! read more

The service was fine but I tried their funnel cakes weren't. It came out so soggy and oily I couldn't figure out if it was the whip cream melting or just residual oil. There was no crispy part on mine at all. For $12 per funnel cake I would expect it to be at least decent. read more

Decided to try this event with a friend that's called First Thursday. Considering I already had something to eat, I wanting something to tickle my sweet tooth. After walking around DT San Pedro we found this funnel cake truck. Customer service was unfortunately not the best and when I asked if they had samples of the sizes like the other food trucks have, she told me "no and held up he hand to make a circle" and said "this is the size" I ordered a traditional funnel cake with powdered sugar 6" $12.00. My friend ordered a scoop of ice cream $6.00. My mouth was ready for my Six Flags funnel cake. After three orders I was called and I was not impressed. It wasn't cooked through, mushy In the middle and I will not be trying again. Fortunately, I have my handy air fryer and I was able to fix it. My rating is simple for the lack of customer service, and the raw funnel cake. read more

I met these people at a city meeting for a discussion about for the Food Trucks. After that I just had to go and check them out as I was told about a deep fried peanut butter & jelly sandwich which I just had to try. I was amazed not just by it, but then you choose a dipping sauce which made the whole experience unreal, also I had a couple of deep fried brownies with my raspberry dipping sauce I found that what they put out is better than some of the best deserts that I have had at even the most high end restaurants. I am looking forward to try more of what they make as from what I experienced, after that all I wanted to do is go to sleep. I feel that the City of Long Beach should have dedicated parking spaces just for these food trucks and they should not have to pay for the parking there, as not only are they giving a great service to the people, but they bring more people to the downtown area for the great experience. Also it would be nice if there was more parking for cars there as I had to have someone drop me off and drive around as there was nowhere to park. read more

THE BEST DAMN CHURROS I HAVE EVA EVA EVERRRRR HAD!!!! Crunchy on the outside, melts in your mouth in the inside. You don't even taste the oil it's been fried in, which I love so much! Some churros be so greasy, but these churros are soooo damn amazing! Perfectly dusted with cinnamon and sugar. Also at a great price! I wish they had a location that opened every single day. Really delicious fried snacks. I like how they are customizable and fresh. My favorite items are the Von Hammers funnel cake, fried oreos, and fried uncrustable. Funnel Cakes are definitely sharable. They also have AMAZING fresh strawberry lemonade where they use fresh strawberries. Just be sure to get there early on holidays because the line can be long. read more

Do not waste your time at this location you are better off driving to Knotts Berry Farm for a funnel cake. read more

Traaash. I've never left a review, but I can't let this slide. That had to have been the most Blain dessert everrrrr. How do you make a sweet dessert blain?!?!?! You can cover it with drizzle. The funnel cake will still be Blain. Texture is like a sponge cake. No resemblance of being fried. And it was fresh. DOOOOONT GOOOOOOO. I was by myself, so decided to get a freshly made ice cream sandwich ("made with 2 cookies or a brownie or a cookie-brownie bar" for $9.25). The cashier/sandwich artist was so pleasant to talk to and gave a free sample, even on this busy, hot Sunday. I ended up getting a white chocolate macadamia for one side, and a peanut butter cookie on the other, with vanilla ice cream in the middle (wish they had had mint chocolate chip). It was good, but couldn't finish it since it would not survive the walk back. Next time, would get a darker chocolate based ice cream to go with the decent vanilla-flavored cookies. While I was eating the sandwich inside in the small eating area, noticed the next customers waiting for their funnel cake to be made. Thinking that would be a great choice, especially topped with the variety of ice cream flavors available.

But this might be the best banana ice cream I've had because it doesn't taste artificially banana-ey. Organic banana ice cream loaded with chocolate coated sugar cone pieces and roasted peanuts. - Biscuits and Jam. Stone fruit jam swirled into vanilla ice cream with toasted biscuit chunks. - Saltine Dream. Organic vanilla ice cream loaded with caramelized saltine crackers dipped in chocolate and a rich fudge swirl. The banana ice cream was the best I've had, but my favorite in the flavor trip was the saltine Dream. Excellent flavor with excellent texture. Winner of the night. Recommend this place! We both got one scoop each, and the portions were huge, one scoop was definitely enough for us! They also let you sample flavors, which is really helpful if you're having trouble deciding. Everyone was super kind, the scoops were generous, and the space itself was nice and spacious. There isn't really seating inside, but there are a couple of tables outside. As we were leaving, my boyfriend's sister accidentally dropped her cup, and they were so sweet about helping her get another scoop. We can't wait to come back! It's so close to us, and I can't believe it took us this long to finally try it.
