My sister told me she wanted to go to Sweet Jill's Bakery for thier cinnamon rolls. After going to the strawberry festival we headed on over to long beach as we did not have anything sweet yet. Parking is kinda tough. You must drive around and find parking and hope someone is leaving a close parking spot rather than 2 blocks away. Which happened to us we found parking in a residential neighborhood and walked to Sweet Jill's Bakery. As we walk inside I read a sign that said "Cash Only" Boy I was lucky they had an amt since I was carrying just a card. There were a few customers in front of me and my friends. We were drawn into everything that was displayed. Such a huge variety of sweets to choose from other than the cinnamon rolls we originally came to get. I ended up getting a oreo cheesecake, strawberry parfait, 2 peanut butter and two chocolate chips cookies, bread pudding. I got something for everyone. My cheesecake was delicious I devoured it did not save a bite lol. Portion size was huge so worth the calories and money. Bathrooms available Atm available
You come for one thing and one thing only, the sweets... A staples in Belmont shores that everyone knows about. And of course when I'm here, it's the pastries that's call my name. First off, it's along the fame 2nd Street in Belmont shores where it's shopping and dining blocks after blocks. Right when you walk in, that whiff of sugars just gets to you. The right way of course. The glass counters with rows and rows of cakes and cookies. Even the glass window displays shows the fresh baked goods as you're walking by. Just a warning, it is CASH only which it's noted at the register. There's an atm nearby for your help. I picked up a few slices of cakes which is alway a must. They're normally in squares versus your normal slices. And a slice of their famous Cinnabon. Oh, they charge an additional fee if you want glaze on your bun. I think it's odd as you would normally already include it but what do I know...lol... Just add the fee into the slice to begin with. Service was great and all the staff were friendly. Just looking at all the cakes, it's hard to choose which one you want. There's seating inside as well as a bench right out front.

There's always some drama coming and going through doors. The last couple times, there was a homeless person leaving behind bio, and another time ladies fighting. Every now and then I get a craving to come back and try something but it's just going down hill. The workers also seem so miserable, overworked and tired.
Hands down best cinnamon rolls in LA. Ordered an after dinner cinnamon roll to satisfy my sweets craving. Love that they still bake cinnamon rolls later in the evening, so everything is fresh and warm. Had the right amount of icing on top and generous with the nuts. Had many a cinnamon roll in my time - but I always go back to the traditional, simple but tried and true stuff here. The place is pretty no frills, so seating isn't fancy. But definitely recommend!
Oh Sweet Jill's, I think I nearly overdid it with the sugar here. They definitely live up to their name because everything here is sweet as hell! We stopped by for a post-dinner sweet treat. Be warned that it is pretty tiny in here and the line can get long and that is it CASH ONLY. I really had a hard time choosing here as the delightful desserts options are really endless. By the time I got to the end of the counter I had picked out a handful sweets I wanted but my stomach only had room for one (barely) so I settled on the German chocolate cake, a nostalgic favorite of mine that I hadn't had in quite some time. This easily could have made for 3 or even 4 desserts. Just a few bites in and that sweetness was almost a little too much. I ended up taking most of it to go. We were able to find a table to sit and eat for a few minutes but it wasn't really comfortable because of how cramped it is in here, I would recommend taking your sweets to go.
This is a great little bakery with plenty of baked goods to choose from. Judging by the steady stream of customers, everything must be good. That said, the only reason we come here is for the cinnamon roll (no nuts) with icing. It hits all the spots , warm, sweet, soft, buttery, sticky, and absolutely delicious. I can personally only eat half, so my wife and I always split one. It's a small place with just a few tables inside. Sometimes there's a line, but it moves pretty quickly. One thing to note: they only accept cash, and the icing for the cinnamon rolls costs an extra 50 cents.
I just ordered a red velvet cake for my girlfriends birthday and it was so rich, flavorful, amazing consistency, just overall delicious! Best red velvet I've tasted in years. I also got a carrot cake cupcake and that was so yummy too. The coconut flakes and flavors were so good. Service was quick and easy and my order was ready when I got there. Such a vibe!

They have a lot of other nice looking treats but not enough to make me want to drive out to Long Beach. I will honestly stick with Cinnabon.

Stopped here to 'test' this bakery for a friends birthday coming up, wanted to see if the baked goods are as amazing as their reputation is, and wow! ALL of the treats looked incredible and so soft. I tried the carrot cake, and I confirmed that I will definitely be back to grab some more slices. It was moist and neutral and the cream on top added just the perfect amount of sweetness. One slice of cake was $5.95. The staff that helped me out was kind and answered all of my questions. Keep in mind this is cash ONLY establishment, however they do have an ATM in the seating area for you to use. Thank you for the tasty treat!
I went to this bakery for a Cinnabon because I kept seeing people ranting and raving about it on TikTok. When I saw it, it wasn't really giving Cinnabon.. it was giving sticky bread. I still gave it a chance. It was okay, but it didn't have enough cinnamon for me. It reminded me of a Little Debbie honey bun warmed up with heavy cream. I was looking for a thick, gooey, soft center Cinnabon moment, and it just wasn't that. I took two or three bites and passed on it. We also got the marble coffee cake, the cashier recommended it, and he did his big one because it was excellent. We got cinnamon crisps too, and those were super good kind of churro like but crispier, almost like a tortilla chip but not really. Delicious though. We grabbed snickerdoodle cookies, but they weren't giving snickerdoodle, more like sugar cookies. Good, just not snickerdoodle. There were so many dessert options that it took us about 15 minutes to decide. I probably should've gotten the lemon cake or carrot cake instead of the Cinnabon. If I go back, I'm definitely trying a cake. But if you have a sweet tooth, they have tons of options and indoor seating, which is nice. read more
IF YOU ARE COMING HERE FOR THE CINNAMON ROLLS, DONT! I've been on a hunt for the best cinnamon rolls in LA and this place kept popping up as one of the best. I'm going to explain in detail why this just isn't true. First, it's cash only. So if you decide to ignore my review and come, make sure you have cash. I got the cinnamon which was very huge. But I asked for the frosting on the side as I heard the frosting was insanely sweet and ruins the cinnamon roll. Honestly the cinnamon roll by itself was a lot better than with the frosting. The cinnamon roll was soft and had good flavor but just a bit overwhelming. I felt over it after 1 bite. So I added some of the frosting and WOOOOOOW it doesn't have flavor. Just pure sugar only. Yes cinnamon rolls are a dessert and sweet but this was like I drank pure sugar water. I tossed that frosting. No way people actually eat that. Little shop on Second Street in the shore. Day or night you cannot escape the enticing aroma of freshly baked goods and have to make a stop in. The place gets pretty busy in the evenings, but it's worth waiting for. We get the chocolate macaroons as they truly are to die for. Crispy outside, smooth inside and oh so flavorful! REMEMBER! Cheap, easy, and fast desserts! Love that they are open early til late at night, its always time for dessert. They have all sorts of cakes, pastries, baked goods, and more. Highly recommend their cinnamon roll, so warm and delicious. The place is cash only and has an ATM in case you forget. Jill I've known you, in passing on the street, over 20+ years. I'm being generous to save our real ages. I'm the one who begged you many many years ago to bring back my red velvet cake... Your employee, young Hispanic girl, Friday May 22nd around 2:30pm... was RUDE and very unpleasant. I gave her simple instructions: one chocolate cake; two cinnamon rolls, please put the cinnamon rolls in a separate bag.... She didn't understand me 3x times... once while ordering, then while getting the order (she said "that's 4 cinnamon rolls?" I said it's 2... then while bagging it she put the cake with one of the cinnamon rolls. What's going on... where's Jesus G...??? Your BEST employee It's the long holiday weekend... Sweet Jill's has been a Long Beach staple for as long as I can remember. I grew up coming here for treats as a kid and it always felt like pure sugary magic. So coming back as an adult, I was low key excited to relive that nostalgia. Me and my girl went full dessert mode after dinner and decided to load up we tried the Oreo brownie, cookie dough brownie, coffee cake, and a pumpkin cheesecake. Nothing was outright bad, but nothing really wowed us either. The pumpkin cheesecake was pretty bland, the cookie dough brownie was overly sweet in a not so great way, and while the Oreo brownie was definitely the best of the bunch it still wasn't something I'd come back specifically for. The coffee cake was solid but again, not memorable. Maybe we played ourselves by not going for their classic cinnamon rolls or maybe the bakery just doesn't hit like it used to. Either way this visit was a miss for us overall. 3 stars love the nostalgia, but the flavors didn't live up to the memories. read more
Whoa!! I never had such a sweet cinnamon roll...it was super super sweet. I didn't even add all the icing on it. It was fresh for sure...I enjoyed the fluffiness. I really wanted to take a few more bites, but I had to stop. I wanted to get other items, but I was worried that it would be extremely sweet as well. Few bites of the cinnamon roll was enough. Service was ok. I don't think I will be returning.. read more

This place reminds me of the old time bakeries that bakes by sheets. Everything was very good. We tried the Dubai chocolate cheesecake, strawberry cheesecake, brownie, chocolate chip cookie, and cinnamon roll with frosting. They are cash only so make sure you bring cash. It was all very reasonable priced, about $5 each. We will definitely make these our regular stops when we have a sweet craving! It's worth trying! read more
Dessert heaven! Ordered the Dubai cheesecake which was rich and delicious! The are known for their cinnamon rolls which were huge! Get it warm and with nuts you won't regret it! We also tried their mini cookies which were crunchy and the perfect amount of sweetness. The peanut butter brownie was yummy but I recommend putting it in the microwave for 15 seconds...divine!! This place had been on my list for a long time but I accidentally stumbled upon it because I was going thrifting nearby. I walked by and immediately was drawn because of how good it smelled! The guy who took our order was super patient because we were so indecisive. They had a huge selection and everything looked so good, but we ended up going with a cinnamon roll (DUHHH) with walnuts and two chocolate chip cookies. They were all freaking ginormous!! I always get scared when a place doesn't have prices listed because they tend to overcharge, but everything here was so cheap and those three things were only $10! They had some seating inside so we tried everything there. The cinnamon roll was good and really sweet. I thought they were a little too dense for me but it still tasted fresh! The cookie was also good but we wished it was warmer. The guy had heated it up but it was so large that only some parts were warm and the rest was a little stiff. I wouldn't really go out of my way just to come here but I'd definitely stop by again if I was in the area! read more
