I absolutely loved the work done here for monogramming some items for a special anniversary gift for my parents, so I decided to return for another gift for my Yelpies son. The quality was a little sub~par this time, unfortunately, as they mixed up my order with another item I gave them .I think the sweet person who does the monogramming that day was having some personal issues, and I appreciated the fact that she owned up to messing up my order. I was leaving for South Florida the next day, so she did redo an item I gave her, although the 1st one was unable to replace it. I never did hear from the owner, so I'm pretty sure it was not mentioned but would likely want to return, but I would probably not give them multiple items as it may be confusing to the person who monogrammed. Incredibly dissatisfied and disappointed in the quality of work, the lack of attentiveness to minor details, & overall terrible experience. Read the bad reviews to determine if you want to put yourself through what myself and countless others have dealt with regarding the owner and the way they treat their paying customers. We bought two brand new bags for our two babies to use for school and we wanted their names (12 letters total) sown on the front. Took the bags in and discussed different designs with owner, Brittany, and we came up with a design for each bag. We paid for the bags and left them with Brittany and were told they should be done by the end of the week, if not we will call you and they should be ready the week of spring break. 3 weeks went by and my wife and I both called the store, sent messages via IG and emails with no response. I decided to drop (30 minutes away) by to the store to see if the bags were ready after over 3 weeks of being ghosted and no returned phone calls or updates. I walk in to an employee named Georgia who asks about our order. I tell her we dropped off a few weeks ago and we're waiting to hear back about whether they were ready or not. Georgia goes into back room and cannot find our bags. She finally finds them at the top shelf in a bigger bag and they looked like they had not moved from that spot since the day we dropped them off with Brittany, 3 weeks ago. Georgia says they will get with Brittany and have these ready for us in a few days. My wife asks me 5+ times if she needs to clarify with them the designs and color scheme to make sure they don't forget so she even reaches out to Brittany and asks if we need to go back over what we talked about some 3 1/2 weeks ago now and Brittany simply responded something like "no, all good." As predicted, it was not all good, when my wife went to pick up the bags the next day, my son's name was spelled wrong. Brittany said she would fix it, no problem. We get a call a few days later that his bag is ready for pick up. Some 4 weeks later now. When we show up to pick up my son's bag, the quality is terrible and it is off-centered. My son's name is "ONIX" she spelt it "ONYX" then unstitched the "YX" and replaced it with the "IX". It was off-center due to this. Brittany actually told me that she took all the letters out and re-stitched the entire "ONIX" off-centered meaning she didn't center it or she is lying about removing all 4 letters and starting over. Back to the quality of the bags, stitching is coming out and I pointed it out to her and she told me "not to mess with it or it would come out" I looked at her and said, these bags are for kids, they are going to get knocked around. At this point, Brittany was rattled. I think she thought we're just going to accept these bags the way they were as she told me she did not feel she needed to reimburse us for anything as we paid her to embroider the names and the names were clearly on the bags like we asked. It did not matter whether we were satisfied and that is the real reason for this review. Not only is Brittany an unorganized liar, she is also very rude and really never treated us like paying customers after she took our money. I asked Brittany why there was a delay with our bags, she said that was her fault and she takes responsibility for that. It was only then, that Brittany was starting to understand the situation here. She then, almost within 5 minutes, changed her mind and now did feel compelled to "fix" the bag and reimburse us. After leaving her store for the 4th time empty handed, I finally came back the next week to find the bag in the condition you see in the pictures of this post. Brittany never said another word to us about the bags. At one point I even asked her if she wanted US to buy a new bag so SHE could start from scratch. She said no of course and that she could fix it and we wouldn't even be able to tell there had been stitching placed and then pulled and re-stitched and then removed again. As of today, we still have not been reimbursed by Brittany or the store. read more

No idea how this shop is still in business. They ruined my item. In a mistaken moment of faith, I replaced it (at my cost) for them to re-do. After 2 months, 5 trips to the store (phones don't work) and multiple "I'll have it ready tomorrow" promises, I finally picked it up and had it embroidered elsewhere. I like doing business with locals and wish them well, but I could not recommend them to anyone. read more

Beautiful place to get your bags or any other item monogrammed! I was a bit hesitant to come here after reading the reviews but they were the friendliest over the phone compared to Mine gifts on town and country. I spoke to Ross upon arriving and she and Rosie tag team the project to make sure the monogram I wanted fit on the bag. Also, as monogramming is new to me, I had several question about proper order and layouts. Each question was answered courteously and I loved it. Rosie (monogrammer) did a fabulous job on the monogram and it made my Vera Bradley bag stand out! As for their time, I took it in Friday and was able to pick up Wednesday. If customer service, accuracy and politeness matter to you; I would urge you to go elsewhere. While this is a neighborhood shop and I would have loved to continue to frequent this place as I do support local and absolutely loved this place until the change in ownership, I can not in any good conscience do so nor can I recommend it to others. The bad reputation it has is well earned. There are so many adorable shops in Houston that offer similar services & merchandise that I can't imagine treating customers in a rude manner and thinking that is acceptable will be viable long term. We will see. I miss the days in which you would walk in, be greeted warmly and dealt with respectfully. Brick & mortar shops have stiff competition amongst local shops as well as intense competition online...best to shop at a place that appreciates the customer. Very disappointed in the service provided at this place. I had an order that was supposed to be ready on March 3rd for a baby shower.I stopped by 2 days before to check if by any chance the order was ready( I was in the area and figured I'd save the drive there if it was ready) I was told by the lady that they hadn't worked on the order but it would get done by Saturday. She even placed it on too of the to do pile. Saturday came by..to my surprise my order was never done. My stuff was still siting on top of the "to do pile" The lady working the front called the owner when she realized I was correct. ( she had said the probably had the wrong date) the owner didn't answer, then I was told "she probably didn't do it because she figured you weren't going to need it" I can't believe I was told something so ridiculous. It's Ruined! A moment that I'll never get to have was ruined by this shop and I received no empathy or apology for my dissatisfaction of the finish product by the owner, Debbie Slack and staff. For 4 1/2 years I worked 2 jobs to pay for school and earn the privilege of graduating with honors. I wanted my accomplishments embroidered on my graduation stole which was sent to me from my honors society (Greek letters on other side). Well, everything's correct regarding the wording and the font, but the finish product is purely a hot mess. The font sizes are not consistent and the spacing is off. I received the call from Rosie who gleamed with pride as she described it to me by phone but when I got to the shop and saw what was done, I wanted to cry. Debbie was standing next to me and could clearly hear as I expressed my concerns and didn't open her mouth to say a single word. She was happy and friendly and worked with me to get the correct fonts, size and placement of everything during my initial visit and was even more happy to take my MONEY (which was pre-paid). But, when things went south, she was quite as a church mouse. What I asked to have done is not new. Grads have been getting their stoles embroidered for years and I even showed her an example of what I found on the web and provided her with my own image. So, there should have been no questions about what I wanted. We even placed tape in the areas of where each word should go but something went terribly wrong and this shop didn't own up to it and take responsibility for their mistake and showed no desire to make things right. I have lost the moment to wear my accomplishments across the stage, I've lost the moment to take those forever pictures and I've lost the moment to honor those who are no longer with me (their initials are on the other side). I trusted this shop because when I called the first question I asked was, "Do you have experience embroidering satin graduation stoles? And the answer I receive was, Oh yes, we do them all the time." I made quite a few calls and embroiders either worked out of their home, didn't have the time, equipment or experience. So, I chose to go with someone who claimed to have been in the biz for decades. So, to sum up my dissatisfaction with this experience here goes: 1. IT Cyber Security & 2020 should be the same size as Bachelor of Science and the spacing between Cyber and Security shouldn't be so wide. So the font size is not consistent. 2. There shouldn't be some much bunching and pulling (I'm sure this could have been controlled. Note: The original fonts I wanted were Block Italic or Garamond Italic but since they didn't have them, I selected script italic. Their selection of italic fonts is pretty much non-existent. read more

What a FANTASTIC place I discovered (by reading a review online)! I needed to have the shams for my son's room monogrammed. I took the shams in, worked on the selection of font, monogram type, color, etc. (I needed some direction). I just picked them up and they look beautiful. As a footnote: The store also sells wonderful gift items (anything from shirts to stationary to cups) to monogram or personalize (purchase price includes personalization). Friendly, knowledgeable staff- I worked with the owner. Initials will be my one- stop gift shop and monogram source from now on. Love this place. read more

I must say in all the years that I have been a patron to this business, I have never been treated with as much disrespect as I have today! Specifically by the owner! I do want to state that ROSIE (lead embroider) is by far a godsend and is very helpful, passionate, patient, and caring. She really takes pride in her work and delivers exceptional customer service. I have been sending items to this shop for years (which the owner made clear she doesn't believe) but every year I drive across town (30mins +) to have various items embroidered. I have encouraged friends, family, and colleagues to do the same. I must say that today, I asked if i could give some feedback around my dissatisfaction with the customer service, specifically with the owner. I was met with immediate disinterest, negative body language, and all around disrespect. Instead of listening, she disregarded my feedback! She made it very clear that she did not know me and therefore couldn't have possibly been rude... I explained that my mother was in the shop 2-3 weeks prior and was treated the same and she stated "that is far from the truth because I don't even know your mother"... At this point, I politely thanked Rosie and left the store. 20minutes later I get a call from the shop and the owner explained basically that I was no longer welcomed as a customer, that I was in turn rude and that she would suggest I take my business elsewhere. After I patiently waited for her to finish, I began to share my thoughts and was abruptly interrupted and then was told "I no longer want to hear what you have say" and she hung up in my face! Long story short, if you want to do business with an owner that feels privileged and disregards the feedback from paying customers, then this it!! (Just as other yelp reviewers have expressed) I found her to be very unprofessional as well as disrespectful in how she not only addressed me but acknowledging her short comings. l do wish ROSIE all the best, I highly doubt that she is respected and valued because its very obvious that this owner is only concerned with herself! There are plenty of great businesses in the area that will treat you with respect and like family; purpose of a small business!! I have never once asked for a discount, unpaid services, or a handout! Walked in to store...was treated rudely and customer service was definetely not their #1 priority. I had my mom pick up my package and when I got home and saw that it was all balled up and thrown in bag. I called several times to get a "we will have someone call you back" which of course never happened. I wanted to tell them that I was rudely greeted, not treated as a customer and was unhappy w the delivery of the package. I felt somewhat stereotyped and was welcomed that way. Initials is my favorite place to shop for gifts and personalized items! Personalized orders normally take about a week to complete. However, I was in need of a gift for a party the weekend I went shopping and the owner really helped me out with getting my order ready in time for my event. There was a $25 rush fee but it was SO WORTH IT. The gift looked amazing. The new owner has really done a wonderful job with the store. The remodel is beautiful and everything is so well organized. The employees are always so friendly and are so helpful when I pick out fonts for monogramming. I recommend Initials to all my friends and family! read more
