So this started off just by an email to ink house and a picture of an idea of what I wanted for my tattoo. After a few emails we settled to an agreement. I came in to collaborate with Alex on how I would like my tattoo and he took my ideas and drew up a masterpiece. When I came in, I was nervous knowing that this is my first tattoo which is a half sleeve but Alex kept on checking on me to make sure I was good and Antonio was hilarious. Great vibes and atmosphere all around. After 6 hours of work, my tattoo came out way more better than I expected. It's everything I wanted and more. Couldn't be anymore thankful for Alex and his work. Will definitely come back to finish up the rest of my arm. read more

I apologize to the owner that this is so long overdue. I had an amazing experience here with the owner piercing my nose a few months ago. I had severe anxiety after two bad piercing experiences from different places. Not only was it pretty much painless, he was such an expert that it went through the nose in less than a second. It was done in a way that I felt only a pinch! I even brought my boyfriend there for support and the time it took for me to squeeze his hand from the pain, it was over. It was actually kind of funny. The owner also told me I should come back another time because after telling him my skin sensitivities, he said he didn't have the correct material to pierce me with. He told me exactly what to order ($8 on amazon) and if I brought it in, he'd pierce it. I appreciated the honesty so much that I came back to Throgg's Neck to this particular spot because he could have easily just pierced my nose and then I have issues all over again, but he risked losing the business by telling me what I truly needed. So, I made the schlep back out to Throggs Neck from Harlem completely out of my way to go here because they earned my trust 100%. Here is my piercing now a few months later and I am loving it. My husband and I have been going to Alex for years. He is amazing at his work and has always given us tattoos that we have been so proud to show off. Recently our dog, Sable, passed away and we wanted Alex to tattoo her portrait on us. Aside from my husband and I, our college age daughter also wanted one. We literally cried when he was tattooing her portrait onto our arms. He captured her beauty, softness and made us feel as if we were looking into her beautiful brown eyes again. Went here for my first lip piercing and got spider bites on the right side. Each time I called in they were out of jewelry but the wait was worth it. It healed nicely although one part of the jewelry fell out (lost it whoops) and the hole closed. The piercing itself was done quickly and fairly painlessly. Most definitely going back for the repiercing and any future modifications. read more

I'm usually not one to write yelp reviews but I feel like I had to with this one. I've always wanted a koi fish tattoo on my shoulder blade but I've always been too nervous, considering the coloring and intricacy I was looking for. I wanted something so big and permanent to be perfect and needed an artist I could trust to do that. I met Alex from Ink House at a promotional event the shop was having at a nail salon in the Heights near where I live and I LOVED him. He showed me his work and we talked about my ideal design and I went in the following week to see the sketch he had done - it was perfect. I went in a couple weeks later to get it done and Alex was extremely comforting and professional and the tattoo came out amazing! Better than I ever could have imagined. I would recommend Alex to anyone. The shop itself is also really nice and accommodating, which helps with such a nerve racking experience. I'll go here again for my second! read more
