I found Monica on a google search and feel like I couldn't have been more fortunate in finding a teacher. Her teaching is so meticulously thought out and the practice lessons are simple yet so precise as to yield excellent results. When she explains the nuances of lettering, breaking down shapes and spacing of letters and and how all of it effects the finished impression, I'll never look at handwriting the same again. She has volumes of books that she put together to help with whatever style calligraphy one is interested in and was able to, with a short conversation, figure out exactly what was best for my goals. I walked in with zero experience and a pretty rough scrawl and am confident with consistent practice with her methods that I will absolutely succeed. So if your eyesight isn't the greatest it won't be good. You have to pick colors and have the clerk take them down and bring them over. The paint I purchased didn't match the swatch on the can the best.

The price offered was more than fair. He works in his carport locally so off we went on a Saturday morning. Great guy, nice to talk with and knew the trade well. He offered advice, and allowed son to make choices while being stirred into the right color choice.
