After being ranked 4th among Yelp's Top 50 Most Prolific Elites of 2025, a distinction recognizing my consistent community engagement and high-quality contributions, I decided that this year, as an All-Star Yelp Elite, I not only wanted to be the first to discover new restaurants, businesses, and establishments, and bring them to the attention of the public, but also to go back and write follow-up reviews on those places that impressed me the most during 2025, and Sixth and Sky Rooftop Grille, located in the heart of Downtown Roanoke, Virginia, is a perfect example of one of them. Today, before going to watch the That's so 70's Concert at the Mill Mountain Theatre, located in the Center in the Square, where this restaurant is also located, I decided to have dinner there, recalling that I had dined there the first day it opened, and many other times as well, for its one of my favorites restaurants in Roanoke. I made my reservation through Open Table for four o'clock, requesting table 62, which is the one I've always dined at since they opened the restaurant. When I arrived I parked my pearl white Lexus in The Center in the Square Garage, conveniently located next door and operated by PARKRoanoke, where you pay a reasonable fee by scanning a QR code when you arrive, fill out the information about your car and credit card payment and it tracks the time from when you arrived and submitted this information to the time when you leave the parking garage, automatically charges your credit card. There is a door from the garage to the Center in the Square building, where I took the elevator to the restaurant on the 6th floor. Once I arrived at the restaurant at the exact time of my reservation, the elegant and friendly host lady greeted me and took me to my usual table after recognizing who I was. Not long after, Kassidy my server arrived, gave me a warm greeting and took my order. To drink I ordered a Virgin Cranberry Mule. As appetizer I had the Scallop Thermidor, followed by a Side Mixed Green Salad with tomatoes, onions, parmesan cheese, and croutons, with Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing. As my main entrée I had their 8oz center cut Filet Mignon cooked medium-rare, served with mashed potatoes and asparagus, and with herb butter on top. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and the high-quality of their food. My server brought me a glass carafe of water with which she filled my water glass. Even the water here is high-quality and served elegantly. My Mocktail tasted simply marvelous. I enjoyed it to the last drop. The Scallops Thermidor had an amazing flavor, and I enjoyed enmensely. Everything was served at the right timing. Then came the salad which was made with fresh, quality ingredients. And the Filet Mignon was so tender and cooked just right, that while I was eating it I was already thinking on returning to have it again. The asparagus were fresh and just the right thickness to be able to enjoy them to the fullest. And the herb butter gave the mashed potatoes and everything else the perfect flavor. The manager gracefully took time to come and visit me at my table. He genuinely welcomed me and showed appreciation for my visit and for the good customer I've been of the restaurant ever since it opened its doors. Little did he know all the people that I've recommended this restaurant to. For dessert I had the Bananas Foster Beignets. The croissant dough of the Beignets were a bit overcooked, but overall the dessert tasted amazingly delicious. Next time I will remember to remind the cooks not to overcook the Beignets. In conclusion this is and continues to be one of my favorites restaurants in Roanoke, and once again I had an extraordinary dining experience there.

The food is delicious and well presented. They are also very attentive to the food and any special requests you may have. My 2 picky issues - had oysters on the half shell, they were sandier than they should be, and the "bread service", which is a paid item, I really don't get this trend, especially at such a high-end restaurant. Don't charge for your bread, it feels tacky and unnecessary, IMHO.

With a cute, friendly, caricature Shrimp Chef design in it's logo, and the slogan: "Fresh Seafood Made To Order," how can one go wrong? Located in an unassuming and relatively small building painted light blue on the outside, and with a simple sign on the roof above the entrance that reads: "COME ON IN / NEW MENU / DON CAMARON SEAFOOD," this very unique seafood restaurant located on Brambleton Ave in Cave Spring, Virginia, is more than just your ordinary Seafood restaurant. It's Mexican heritage cuisine brings to the menu items some flavors that contribute to the seafood taste more delicious than ever before. When driving down Brambleton Ave you can't miss a tall orange sign with the name and logo of the restaurant, placed right in front of their huge parking lot, providing convenient complimentary parking to all its customers. The restaurant building itself looks small from the avenue because is in the back of the parking lot, but once you get closer you will begin to notice the difference. Its log cabin architectural building design seems to give it warmth and as you enter its doors, all the wooden accents in the interior design of the building, together with the blue lighting treatment of the bar, and logo cabin look of the main dining area creates a cozy, warm, and friendly environment, perfect to enjoy a good meal and quality time with family and friends. As soon as I entered the restaurant, a friendly young lady greeted me with a friendly smile, took me to a table of my choice in the dining room, and handed me the menu. One can learn a lot about a restaurant from its menu. In this case, it was a beautifully designed menu, with its name, logo, and slogan on the cover. Open the menu and inside I found a good selection of seafood items, cooked in a variety of styles, with an easy to read font and highlighted with professionally taken photographs of the main items on the menu. Just from viewing the menu you can't help it but to want to return to taste some more of their delicious cuisine. My server, a very friendly young lady with a welcoming smile came by, introduced herself and took my order. To drink I had an Horchata, which is a sweet non-alcoholic drink made with rice and sugar, and very refreshing with lots of ice. They also had domestic and imported beers and wine on the menu. As my main course, I ordered the Camarnes Gratinados (Shrimp covered in bacon and melted cheese), with the two sides of French Fries and Hushpuppies. I found all the items of the menu to be reasonably priced and served abundantly. My food arrived in a reasonable amount of time and you can even watch this in one of my video clips accompanying this review. Everything on the plate was amazingly delicious, quality, and plentiful. The shrimps were fresh, plumpy, tasty, and cooked to perfection. The Fries were the right cut and fried just right to be crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. And the Hushpuppies were amazing. My compliments to the Chef for such an extraordinary cuisine. I believe that the success of good tasting seafood lies in the way it is prepared and cooked. No dinner is complete without a good sweet dessert. So as the grand finale I had a Flan. Now this was no ordinary flan. I invite you to look through my photographs accompanying this review and see for yourself. It was homemade, made with the riches of ingredients, and tasted splendidly. One of the best, if not the best Flan I ever had. In conclusion, I had an extraordinary dining experience and highly recommend this Seafood Restaurant. What the owner and chef of this restaurant have created can't be described in words but experienced for yourself. I'm a fan of a Connecticut style roll (hot buttered lobster roll) so this was on my must-try list. Yes, there was a line ahead of me, yet there really was zero sense of urgency to move that line at above a snails pace. I also had to ask for forks and napkins Sandwich was pretty small, and lobster was chopped up and heavily seasoned. IMHO, it didn't taste fresh either, like maybe the seasoning was an attempt to cover the quality or freshness. That being said, my husband ordered the fried seafood platter and according to him the breading was too heavy for his liking. My daughter (who does not like seafood) ordered chicken tenders. I believe they may use the same flour mixture to dredge both the chicken and the seafood, because her chicken tenders tasted very "fishy." I got the crab legs, which were delicious. However, they do not offer real butter so that was a bit disappointing. The things I did enjoy about this place: The decor was very nice. I love the murals on the walls. We did not have to wait for a table as there is plenty of seating. Everything felt very clean. Our waiter was wonderful. He was very kind, attentive, and accommodating. I think that considering this restaurant is in the mountains, it is a fine place to get seafood. If you are used to eating seafood on the coast, you may be disappointed.

I can honestly say I will never step my foot back in that place again. I don't have any reason to give them a bad review, I just give my review and tell the truth and nothing but the truth. Whoever wrote that wonderful review for them, must've been one of the owners because here is my experience I love scallops as a matter of fact, my friend owns a seafood restaurant in Yorktown, Virginia, and we are very close friends. He knows that I am a connoisseur of fine scallops so he gives me tips on how to tell if they're really scallops or just white fish. At Harbor Inn, fried scallops are about $19.99. They're very small and they are exactly what my friend warned me of when I buy scallops. The taste of them is not anywhere near a scollops. They are all shaped alike and the same size and the inside does not have the rubbery consistency of a scallop. In other words, they are white fish that has been cut out and sold at a high price. The fried ones are very greasy. I ordered a sweet potato to go with them and it did look good but I had to bring it home to eat it. The only butter they had was on the table and it said right on the front of the little tub " vegetable oil". I ask if they had butter and that was the only kind of butter they had, I told them that that was not butter, it was vegetable oil. It tasted nasty so I didn't put it on my food My husband got the fried fish and they were tiny pieces of fish that were fried and didn't even have a taste other than oil. He bought the fish home and put it in the refrigerator hoping that maybe he would be real hungry and snack on it About 20 minutes after being in our refrigerator I just about gagged. We had to take it out. Take it to the end of our field and throw it out for the animals. Not only did our refrigerator smell like strong fish, our whole kitchen did. The fries that he got were cold. The only good thing about this meal was the hush puppies. They were not bad. I usually don't eat fried foods, but I do love scallops and like I said the fried ones were about $20 but if you got them broiled, they were $25 The only reason I'm writing this is not to try and put a restaurant down. I know they need to make money, but I don't think that other people should have to experience what I did and that's why I'm just telling the truth. Also, when we were there before the bathrooms were really weird, they were corner toilets. They didn't look dirty, but the lid was down so after I lined the toilet, I sat down and the lid fell down on my back, it didn't hurt me, but it didn't feel good either. They were the exact same way this time and the lids are black and they were all chipped and not painted or anything. It was nasty looking. The bathroom did not look dirty. It just looked like it needed updated.

One always has a delightful dining experience here. Today, I decided to dine there on the way to going to watch the Actic Productions musical of Into The Woods which was being performed at the D. Geraldine Lawson Performing Arts Center in Fincastle, Virginia. I arrived soon after they had opened at four in the late afternoon. A friendly young lady greeted me at the Host's station right at the entrance of the restaurant and after asking me where would I prefer to seat, took me to the table of my choice. Studying the menu it was not easy to choose what to get from the great variety of dishes. But by the time my sever Kaylee arrived with a big smile and welcoming attitude I had made my decision. I would start off with a Mojito Mocktail to drink. As appetizer I ordered their Coconut Shrimp, followed by a House side salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing. And as my main entrée, their 8oz Filet cooked medium-rare. I asked the server for the items to be spaced out and to have the salad before the main entrée. The Mojito Mocktail tasted wonderful. As I was enjoying it a young gentleman server assistant brought me the Coconut Shrimps and they looked amazing. They were enormous in size, very crispy on the outside and fresh and moist in the inside. One of the best that I have ever had. I invite you to view my photographs accompanying this review to get a better sense of the place and the high-quality of their food. Then came the salad which also looked and tasted wonderful. Almost right after bringing me the salad, they brought me the main entrée of the Filet cooked to perfection with a loaded Baked Potato. I don't like when this happens, but the food was so good that I patiently ate it and then asked to speak to the manager. There was no manager on site but the person in charge of the kitchen came to see me and I explained the concept of timing to him as a constructive criticism, letting him know that everything was so exquisite that I was not upset, just wanted him to know so that in the future when this is corrected both the other customers and I could have a more pleasant dining experience and enjoy our food better. For dessert I had their Strawberry Shortcake and it was amazingly delicious with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream in the middle. This was the Grand Finale of an excellent meal. The incident of the timing, suddenly didn't seem to matter that much because they took my feedback gracefully and I was able to teach them a lesson in fine dining. In conclusion I continue to highly recommend this restaurant and am looking forward to returning to try one of their other amazing items from their menu.
