Parking is challenging when capacity, but do drive around back and try. The lot was clear of debris. Our party was immediately placed on a wait and asked to move to the two seat bar, ha! Yep two seats. No one asked for drink orders which was disappointing. They were slammed! The atmosphere is blah, hole in the wall joint. But if the food is good it will make up. Within 10 minutes we were seated in a booth and provided menus including traditional Peruvian cocktails by a friendly staff. A short time later drink orders were taken and my son got a Passion Sour, a OJ concoction with egg that he enjoyed. The entire menu is traditional Peruvian. So you're sure to find a favorite. My wife and I ordered the Bistec and my son Lomo. Orders took around 25 minutes to push out, but they all came out correctly and same time. Also looked yummy! My medium well Bistec was cooked to perfection and delicious. The plantains were like candy, it's been a long time since I've had them. My son enjoyed his meal as well and has had it a few times at other places. A follow up to our entrees was not preformed, but luckily not needed. Much later a follow up to refill waters. I'm a soft 4 stars on Inka Brambleton location. The food was all very strong which propped them up. However, service was slow to lacking. 3.5 rounding up.

I was so delighted. She had one of the pasta dishes with seafood. And I had the ceviche mixto which was excellent. I had a Modelo Negro beer. Delighted to find that available there. My daughter had a mango drink which was quite substantial and she couldn't finish it! I was pleasantly surprised to find that we had a really nice dinner for $50 including a 20% tip. I had been not going back there because I thought for some reason that it was expensive. It has a pretty substantial menu but the basic ceviche dishes were under $20 mostly. So I could go there for lunch and have a beer for about $30 which is not too outrageous these days! The place is quiet and nicely laid out. They have been gradually investing in improving the place. It looks like! I am trying to get back into my Downtown restaurant routine and I'm so glad that this place will fit in nicely.

It's more modern and elegant than that of their first restaurant on Brambleton Ave. Although the service there is superb. When I arrived a young lady greeted me, took me to my table, gave me the menu and asked what I wanted to drink. After consulting with her on what they had, I asked for a mango drink. It was mighty good, like a mango juice served in a tall glass. For appetizer I order an Avocado Salad with Sea Salt. It was just slices of an avocado with salt on the side. It would have been better with some oil and vinegar as well. For ma main entrée I order.one of my favorites on their menu the Bistec a lo Pobre. This is basically a steak with a special rice, a fried egg, and fried ripe plantain. Inside of the special rice I asked for white rice and black beans. My server goes to the kitchen to see if this was possible, but comes back saying it would be a $2.95 extra to include the black beans. I told her to go ahead. When the food comes out she puts it on the table and leaves. I thought she went to get the black beans but they never arrive. The food looks great but when I cut the steak it was well done and I asked for medium rare. When she goes to bring something to another table I called her and tell her about the steak and the black beans that was missing. She offers to make me another steak but the piece of meat tooked so well and I was so hungry that I decided to eat it like that. She repeated that the black beans would be an extra charge. I told her I didn't mind. She finally brings me the black beans. The beans themselves were a bit hard and not as tasty. The ones I had at Panera Bread the other day were 100% better, but I pour them on top of the rice and eat them like this. For dessert I ordered a Passion Fruit Mousse. It was good but a bit dry and lacked sugar. I still enjoyed my meal but can't understand why they always overcook the steak when medium rare taste so much better. When I order it for delivery via Door Dash, most of the time it arrives well done as well. I still love the Peruvian cuisine of this restaurant, they should just train the new servers better so they can better communicate with the customers and chef. And I think the manager should have come out to at least apologize for the confusion. For this reason this time I'm only given them 4 stars.

We ordered the whole chicken with yucca and plantains and a side of black beans. The food was good and price was reasonable. With all of the choices in downtown, not sure I would make a special trip to eat there again. But if downtown and want to try a Peruvian meal, it is worth a visit. As I was reading the other reviews it reminded me that we, also, had to ask for the black beans after the rest of our food was brought to the table. They were good, nothing special.

So I pulled out the trusty Yelp app to see if there might be something interesting to try in the area. I landed on a well rated Peruvian fast-casual place called Colca's Chicken and decided to stop in. This is a newer building, but the layout is a little odd in the sense that all parking is around the side and back, and because of the topography, you have to walk around to the road-side to get in. Only really pertinent if you are a person with mobility issues, fine by me. The style is fast casual, and they offer anything from simple sandwiches, to monster burritos, and entree platters. I saw someone getting a burrito and it looked really good, so I went for the "Colca"s Chicken burrito" which came with Marinated Chicken, Peruvian Fried Rice, Peruvian Chickpeas, Queso Fresco, Peruvian Onions, Cilantro, Pico de Gallo, Guacamole, Roasted Peruvian Corn, traditional Peruvian Aji Yellow Sauce. Sorry for all those caps, i copy pasted from their website. First thing... what a monster. There was so much protein and fillings in this thing that the guy making mine completely failed to roll it properly. Just wasnt possible. He did his best but a big tear opened up in the side. I told him it was OK, and he just wrapped it over with foil. I was able to eat about half before grabbing a fork and having the rest more like a bowl. Honestly though, it was so big, a little more than half was all I wanted. I wish I could say I enjoyed all of it thoroughly, but one of the elements, the roasted corn, made it difficult. The corn was so over-roasted that all the kernels were hard. It was nearly like biting into a popcorn kernel, but thankfully, they did break apart once you bit in. Whenever I hit some, it was unpleasant. Once I got in with a fork, I did my best ot separate them out, but kept hitting some. I also wasn't a huge fan of the garbanzo beans. I would know better on both items for next time. In general though, with that knowledge, I think my next experience would be better, if I get that chance. Seems like a great local place to go for an interesting meal.
