The shop looks nice on the outside but the inside is a disaster and makes me question the sanitary quality of the entire place. There's books and papers stacked everywhere its just not appealing and doesn't have the tattoo shop vibe. After getting my tattoo done and actually looking at it, I noticed that the lines were extremely shaky and sloppy. Some of the details from my reference photo were missed and it makes the entire thing look incomplete. I didn't like how the "second skin" was a paper towel with tape to keep it on. Would not recommend this shop to anyone who wants to get a good tattoo. And the payment method was even more shocking. The card machine was down so it was either paying in cash or through cashapp. They charged us more for using cash app. I get charging a little more for usinng a third party app but $12 difference? Extremely nice people, but the tattoo quality was horrible! Very basic tattoo done by Yvonne, and as nice as she and the owner were, the lines were zig-zagged and uneven, some thin some thick. She went too deep into the skin in some places and not enough in others (per the second tattoo artist). This same tattoo was done on multiple people and they all came out different. This was an extremely simple design, we were disappointed to have to go someplace else and have them redo the tattoos entirely as we were afraid going back for the promised free touch up appointment would only make things worse. WHAT A DIFFERENCE with the new place, they evened all the lines, corrected the shape, and even had to do a little white to correct poor shading on 2 people's. I see a lot of great reviews on google for this place, many pictures look great, and we feel horrible for needing to write these things. But after discussing with the others, we had to speak up and let people know about this bad experience. Tattoos are permanent and we were lucky to have been able to get these fixed, though it cost us double. We have photos on google review if anyone wants to see. Its the moons. read more

This place is awesome. I had a great experience. The atmosphere was great, my tattoo artist was amazing and the work she did was breath taking. She talked to me the whole time to distract me from the pain and she made me feel really comfortable. The pricing was reasonable and the care instructions are really easy to follow. Before we started she told me about the shops license and certification and explained to me that the place has spores test done to make sure the equipment is up to date and sanitary which put me at ease. Over all my tattoo came out really good and I'm tickled pink about my results. I would recommend this place to friends or family. read more

Here was my dilemma: cool vibe to the place, sure, spoke with the artist that did my forearm tattoo and, granted, I am perfectly down with trying out new shops and such. Here is where my problem lies... I am currently about 2 weeks into the healing process. The artist managed to be so heavy handed that she cut into my skin which has scabbed over and hasnt healed. My arm was swollen for a week and a half with persistent bruising. Now, i have my shoulder as well as my central upper back tattooed over my spine, and these two pieces hurt less than the one done on my forearm! Its not symmetrical, and with one of the circular points, she stabbed the needle into my arm (=blowout). It is also is greyscale instead of black. (Another matter of itself). Her lines are incomplete and she sketched my arm with the needle instead of doing a continuous line which looking closely, it looks sloppy (from a distance its okay.) Meeting this artist was not so bad, because she had a personality and was good to talk to. read more

Easily the worst tattoo shop to exist. If I could give 0 stars I would, and that's still be too many stars. I am writing this on behalf of a friend. She went in for a simple tattoo, an outline of a shape. The "artist" proceeded to FILL IT IN. Which was NOT the plan. Then the woman left the line work a mess, uneven, and sloppy. Proceeds to tell my friend, "When it's healed I'll have to fix the lines since they aren't great." Are you kidding me? Oh and her "healing instructions" were to let it dry out and don't put anything on it. This place is an ABSOLUTE JOKE! Everyone should stay far away from here. Far far away. read more

I went for a small tattoo on my ribs. The shop itself is a disaster (messy, dirty, etc.) but as I was new to tattoos I didn't think of it as much of a red flag. The women who was there and doing my tattoo seemed nice enough. The tattoo itself was fine (it was letters and one letter was a bit smaller than the other, but I'm not picky). Since I received good service the first time I brought my friend there to get his first tattoo. She did it, and the lines were absolutely horrible. It looked like a toddler drew it. It looked shaky and rushed. While I was there I figured I'd ask her to touch up the tattoo I got, because she didn't go deep enough the first time and the black ink was now a light grey. She not only charged me 20 dollars for a touch up (I have other tattoos and the artists always have offered free touch ups for their work) but she rushed through it and did it in about 3 minutes. She covered it with the bandage before I could see it so I didn't notice until I got home, but she did the same thing to my tattoo. The lines were shaky and rushed and she made it completely worse by "touching it up". I had to pay elsewhere to get it fixed because this woman doesn't know how to do her job or take her time. My friend also went to a different shop and paid a good price to get his tattoo fixed. Her name was shonna and her work is horrible. Please, stay clear of this messy, unprofessional shop. read more

Shonna is by far the most personable tattoo artist I have ever interacted with. She is truly funny and her vibe makes you feel so comfortable. Apart from Shonna's amazing personality, she is also an phenomenal artist. She takes her time to get the design exactly how you want and always makes sure it's perfect. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! If I could give it zero stars I would and even that would be too many stars. I didn't even get a tattoo from here and I am still traumatized. I went in with two friends for a small tattoo and upon entering I knew this place was not it! It is crowded with nonsense and filthy in there. It looked like a thrift shop or something off of an episode of hoarders. Definitely off putting. I told the woman what I wanted and she talked me out of it and talked me into a whole different tattoo in a whole different spot. When she sketched my tattoo it was nothing like the photo I showed her. We negotiated a price but she wanted cash. When I left to the "atm" to get cash I knew I wasn't going back in. She tried to tell me I was going to have to pay for the horrible care bear ass sketch. I sent my friend in to retrieve the consent sheet with my information because I didn't feel comfortable with her having my info but she snatched it from her. Literally the worst experience ever. And another thing concerning the appearance of the establishment, when we walked in it was a hot mess. I saw the woman and she had no teeth on her top row. Not to say that I am concerned with the appearance of workers but as the consultation went on the woman proceeded to lift up her shirt to reveal her sports bra and her boobs to show us the tattoos that she had previously gotten. Some done by herself using stick and poke and also just a regular needle but the one thing that was consistent with them is that they were all trash! When we walked into the establishment there was a coffin sitting as soon as we walked in and I asked her if there was a person in it and she responded "I don't know maybe." I also looked to my left and right and there was Dunkin' Donuts napkins riddled with grease and grease stains, and a half and donut on top. I wondered why I stayed so long, but I still talked to her. I think it was just because I'm a nice person. When I told her what I wanted she tried to talk me out of it because I'm pretty sure what I want it was less than what she was suggesting money wise. I wanted a small letter on my hand, by the end of the consultation she convinced me to get a full ass constellation on my back. It wouldn't be so bad if the sketch of hers resembled the constellation that I showed her on my phone but it didn't look anything like it. On The sketch she gave me the lines were thick and the stars were that of a cartoon. The woman was unprofessional and talked to me as if we were friends, which would be nice if she didn't make me and my friends feel so uncomfortable. She showed us all of her sketches and all of them were just so bad. And here is the icing on the cake: this woman showed us a tattoo of a man's name and thick ass ink that she probably did herself and proceeded to slander her ex-husband's name into dirt like we were at brunch. I don't trust her, I'll never trust her, and I'm scared she's using my information. I mean to be honest I'm actually a bit worried that she might see my name and connect the dots since she never gave me back my consent form. When my friend went back in to get my form she came back and told me they were truckers in there and the whole place reeked of Hennessy, leather, old wet dog, dirty breath, bubblegum, wet concrete, pinecones, old socks, black and milds, cigarettes, and bombao. Not to mention there was a dog cage in there! The dog wasn't there but that's unsettling seeing as I would've gotten my tattoo just two feet away. Complete unsanitary! To make a long story longer I'm warning any and everyone who reads this review please stay far away from here!!!! read more

Inksplosive is terrible. Didn't even get a chance to see if they were good at what they do because the guy was just so rude to me that I didn't even stay. I went in to get my nose stud changed and he turned it into a huge fiasco. He said I was stupid for getting my nose pierced where I did and refused to use the jewelry I brought so he could charge me for his low-quality jewelry. He was absolutely rude from the moment I walked in. No wonder he was spending the first ten minutes I walked in there arguing with someone about money troubles. Never again! read more

My experience at Inksplosive was excellent! I have always wanted to get my nose pierced but I continued to procrastinate until one day I did my research of great tattoo parlors around my area that were safe and clean. I immediately called Inksplosive and asked for the price of what I wanted in order to get an idea of the price range. I was told that prices cannot be given over the phone due to the fact that a customer should never make their decision of getting a tattoo or piercing over the cost. This is very true and have never thought of it in that way. Therefore, I went in with my mom the next day to ask in person. I was greeted very kindly and advised of the licensery of the parlor. It really proved how professional they are! About 2 weeks later I've finally came to the deciosion to get my nose pierced. I didn't make an appt and had to wait for the owner to arrive (since he is in on-call) but he was very fast (took no more than 15 mins for him to arrive to the parlor) and the tattoo artist kept my mom and I company. Fast forward, during the time of the actual piercing the owner talked to me and made me feel very comfortable. He sterilized his tools! He was very sweet and kind and advised me of what to do and expect after my piercing! Everything was very professional. Highly recommend this parlor. read more
