So my son in law walks in, he is a Clemson student who will graduate tomorrow with his PhD yet because his skin is brown he is treated differently. I walked in to find out what the hold up was, he waited more than 30 minutes as dozens of light skin individuals ordered food, received their food and left he was still sitting there. We took the ride to Inky's today for lunch. Advertising that they served Liscio's Bread was enough to get us to drive an hour for a cheesesteak and it was so worth the trip! Good bread might be lost on a person that never had really good bread- but certainly not anyone that grew in the Philadelphia area. The owners, Stacy and Jamie, were so friendly and we enjoyed talking about growing up in the old neighborhood. The shop is beautiful, industrial decor, but very inviting. For my father's 88th birthday, I went in search of Philadelphia-style cheese steaks. My dad grew up in South Philly and often lamented that nobody knows what a "Philadelphia" cheese steak really is. I searched online and came upon Inky's. The pictures looked good. The descriptions seemed authentic. Heck there is even a Liberty Bell apostrophe in the name. I was willing to give it a try. I recognized the gamble; I wasn't sure that anyone could make a cheesesteak to meet the salty old man's high standards. He often seems happiest when he is complaining. I ordered him the classic cheesesteak. I was impressed with the prompt service and the tantalizing aroma as I gathered up our order to deliver it to Dad. When I opened the sandwich, I was impressed. There was a LOT of meat and the rolls looked authentic. Dad set into devouring his sandwich! He said it was "very good." That is high praise from this Philadelphia native. We got our money's worth for lunch and moreso for his birthday present. A couple days later, I brought up the sandwiches (his memory is a little shaky). He beamed and told me how excellent they were and that I should get them for him again. VICTORY! Thank you, Inky's, for meeting the challenge of cheering up a grumpy man on his birthday! Don't bother asking for no pickles - even if you have a 33 year aversion that you go to lengths to explain to the waiter. Not only did the pickles come on the sandwich, they had extras on the side! For all my friends in Easley AVOID INKYS. They are letting people come in and place take out orders while people who waiting for inside seating go unserved with 8 EMPTY tables and people leaving their tables when finished their meals. When I spoke to the hostess, she blew me off. I said I wanted to speak to the manager, she brings out "Wednesday Adams" who proceeds to tell me that they can't stop carryout orders and that they can't seat us because there is no one to serve us. There were 4 wait staff standing in the hallway. I asked to speak to the owner and was told " she's cooking I can't bring her out" We have been coming to INKYS for years and never experienced such rude and inappropriate treatment . We watched 3 families leave while waiting and droves of take out people come in and get served and we were never seated. Utterly ridiculous! read more

Inky's!!!! OMG. Their cheesesteaks are delicious and the service is wonderful. They have the absolute BEST hot pretzels, too...they're gigantic--the size of a child's head! The beer cheese with the pretzel is HEAVEN. They make their own as well as the artichoke dip. There's plenty of seating inside and also outside with nice big chairs & tables. It's located at the Silos, so enjoy some great beer and live music while at Inky's. Love this place....try it! read more

The atmosphere inside Inky's at The Silos is beautiful. I've tried most of the items on the menu. Cheesesteaks are their specialty but the burgers, fried chicken sandwiches, and grilled cheese w/bacon & tomato are excellent. I recently discovered their club sandwich and enjoyed every bite. It's on Texas toast with the meats and lettuce & tomato piled high. I also had onion rings. Their homemade chips, tots, and fried mushrooms are also good sides. They employ some of the nicest people you'll ever deal with. Inky's is my favorite place to dine. read more

I've visited Inky's quite a few times throughout the years. When it was in its old location, I feel like the food was better, mainly in the quality of the meat. While the new location is much nicer inside than the old one, I care more about the food than the ambiance. Our most recent experience about a month ago was probably the worst one so far. The service was fine and prompt, but the food itself, at least the cheesesteaks, were average. The other food items we ordered were all fine (a couple of kids meals and a BLT) and the sides were good. It was just frustrating that the thing they're supposed to be known for was probably the worst thing we ordered that night. We'll still visit when we're in Easley, mainly due to the fact that there aren't any better cheesesteak places in Greenville, but Inky's isn't as good as it once was. read more

I'm impressed... My wife has eaten here a few times with a lady's Bible study and they have raved about the delicious sandwiches. My wife likes the "guns welcome here" sign which would cause a bad guy to simply keep walking. Nothing like a criminal with a gun to ruin your lunch. "Inky's" stuck in my mind as a place to try. A local Yelp search brought it up one day as a being nearby (and highly recommended)... SO. She was right, the Philly Steak sandwich I had was one of the best i have sampled. I made the mistake of ordering a Philly Cheesesteak. When I got the sandwich, it was chopped up so much, it was a pile of mush and cheese and veggies were so finely chopped I couldnt tell if there were any ion the sandwich. This certainly is NOT a classic cheese steak. The meats and veggies do not need to be chopped to smithereens. I was told that this was a classic Philly style, but I beg to differ. I never have got a cheese steak like this in Philly, ever. I expect the meats to be chopped, but mostly into strips with the peppers, onions, mushrooms and cheese, and not into a pile of mush that I cant make heads or tails of. Inky's could be so good too, if they only would make a real steak and cheese. Inky's prices are right up there too. I think that theie new location went to their head, and now concentrate their efforts on the beer taps, instead of their food. Shame really. read more

A burger which they would not cook medium well and 2 chicken cheese steaks. We ordered fries and literally got 10 of them, we got more fries going to McDonald's. Inky's has been one of our favorite restaurants for several years now. But today they missed the mark and I hope it was just a speed bump. The steak sub was so wet and greasy that the wonderful roll was soggy right away and the sandwich continually dripped. There didn't appear to be any seasoning on the usually good meat. The small fries were even smaller, although I will give grace for that since they have to pay higher prices for their produce and I would guess that is why the portion was smaller.
