I'm here at 10:00 and they won't make a sandwich until 10:30 because it's "breakfast time" a club plate should not be a issue to make 30 min before your "lunch" opening this is the first place I have ever been to that puts a time limit on a club sandwich on top of it all the service was absolutely crap from the cashier she told me that breakfast ended so I asked it I could order lunch she replied no I asked if I can order breakfast and yet again she said no all and all got refused service because they "close for 30 min before lunch read more

Ordered two plates, both 1/2 & 1/2. Only one plate came with onion rings. Between two plates ordered, we had 3 little packets of ketchup. Fries were requested crispy, they're soft and without dipping sauce, one packet of ketchup will hardly make enough for 5 fries... the steak fingers, the bread is falling off because of the grease (must not have been cleaned in a while) very pricey meal for such a disappointment for two workers trying to have lunch near downtown Greenville. I'm gonna start this review by saying that I love the food and service in this restaurant. The food has always been top notch regardless of it I was eating in or taking it out and the staff friendly. The reason for this review is because every time I go through the drive thru I ask for extra ketchup at the box and when I get to the window but they never put any extra in the plate. What's with 1 pack of ketchup in a plate anyway? 1 pack of ketchup is not enough for an order of fries. When a cheeseburger plate and a jumbo soda is 16 dollars then 2 packs of ketchup shouldn't be a dealbreaker. I understand that the price of things go up but that just seems stingy. read more

I was incredibly disappointed in my lunch order. I ordered a burger with no bun- a super common request that is handled easily at other restaurants- and a side of slaw. The burger was placed in a paper boat, wrapped in more paper and STAPLED closed, leaving a metal staple in the edge of my burger. The lettuce and tomato was packaged the same, also with a staple through the tomato. After carefully picking through the food to make sure that I wouldn't eat a staple, I found hard inedible bits in the burger. I tossed it and decided to eat only the slaw. It was too sweet to be edible. I strongly recommend putting a bunless burger and its toppings in a different container, like a styrofoam box. read more

We arrived right after lunch hour and so we didn't have to wait. Very clean restaurant with friendly staff . Our table got Chicken fingers with really good honey mustard, a Patty Melt plate and a mushroom Swiss burger plate. All the food was fresh and hot. It was a good meal for $30 . I guess I was expecting the new location to be like the former location as far as service and food quality. Service was slow considering the amount of wait staff and it was almost 1:30PM and not crowded. The staff does not welcome people when they enter and does not smile.Food is just average at best. Cheeseburger had processed meat patty smaller than the bun and there was a tablespoon of lettuce at the most. On the upside the place is new and cleaner than the former location on Shaw and Old Buncombe. The menu has fewer options than before. If only they had moved and kept the previous quality of food and waitstaff. Well, I tried it but not impressed enough to try it again. read more

Without admitting my age I will say that I have been eating at the Carolina Drive In since high school. The new location is fresh and clean. The food is not so healthy but so delicious. Friends who graduated from Parker High School enjoyed the food and the memories: jumbo chili cheese half and half, hot dog with onion rings, sliced bar-b- q and minced bar-b-q. A varied menu from basic burgers, dogs and fries, to some excellent Greek influenced dishes. There's a kid menu, gluten free options, meat and three choices and more. The restaurant is clean;the kitchen is open; and although it looks like a counter order restaurant, you choose a seat and a waitress will take your order at your table. I have NEVER had any of the staff be anything but friendly and quite eager to answer questions or make suggestions. The owner, NIck, will stroll through and engage the customers on occasion. I've enjoyed the slaw dogs, the onion rings, a delicious beef kabob and more. During your dining experience the waitress will return regularly to refill your beverage. The 3 star rating is simply because there's not a real ambience...it's a fast food restaurant so there is no fine dining vibe. But it is good, basic fast food without the hustle and pressure of the big chain venues. And IF you happen to have a youth with you, be sure to sit at the window on the twirling stools. The kids LOVE them and it's fun to watch the traffic, both vehicle and foot, pass by as you eat. You may have to impose a rule of "no more twirling until we place our order." read more

My family and I love this place. The lamb gyros are some of the best in Greenville, and the service is always really great.

Carolina Drive In is one of our favorites! Our order is always the same with baby club sandwiches; these are a perfect size and sometimes you can't finish them. If you don't finish it, they taste awesome when they're cold, even after being in the fridge. Their hot dogs are great too, with chili as well! Good service and atmosphere. Only downside is they're cigarette friendly and the bathroom really smells of it, but inside the restaurant the smell isn't overwhelming. The cost can be a little pricey, but worth it. read more

Meh. Once in a while, I love going to a local greasepit, and this one is about as local as it gets. However, after trying this place twice, I won't be going back. The burgers look and taste like they're processed and mass-produced, with who knows what in it. You know, like the weird burgers we got way back when in elementary school? Yeah. Ick. The French fries almost redeem the burgers, but the onion rings are blaaaaaand. Come on, y'all, this is South Carolina, where everyone puts at least some salt and pepper in the batter! I could have overlooked the burgers (and ordered something else) and the blah onion rings, but the folks who work there are not friendly at all. If you work in the service industry (which I have), or in any industry that deals directly with customers (which I do, as I am a nurse), you need to be try to be nice to folks. It takes zero effort to be nice and greet folks with a smile. If they're rude to you after a nice greeting, then have at 'em I say. But at least say, "Hi, how's it going?" and try a little smile. I know that this is a trying time with Covid-19, but this was my second try and my first try was back in September last year. It was the same then. For a place with "drive in" in the name, the drive in was incredibly slow! Also, I don't tip on window service and it is uncomfortable to be asked and makes me uneasy that they knew that while still prepping the food... I got the lamb burger "plate" which had cole slaw and French fries. I like a lamb burger and I'm glad they had it. It was fine. The bun was not appropriately sized for it, though and I had to tear off a bunch of the bread. The fries are frozen and crinkle cut. Nothing special, although they were topped with an herb mixture. I think the menu said they were supposed to be "greek". I'm used to real greek potatoes at the restaurants here, not fries with a crumble on top. The cole slaw was too sweet and of the pulverized variety, which is not my favorite. I'm sure the food processor makes prep easy but bigger pieces of cabbage are better. I might go there again, mainly because I would prefer to patronize a local business but maybe if that's the case I should just go to Tommy's across the street. Just sayin. read more
