I absolutely cannot say enough about IE Acupuncture! I have gone for 5 visits and when I first went I could barely walk because my knees and feet were in so much pain. My Doctor suggested acupuncture for my diagnosed postherpetic neuralgia. My worse shingles bout of endless pain triggered from Covid in January 2022 started this journey. After reading the 5 star reviews on Yelp, I made an appointment with Ed and only after 2 sessions.. I totally agree 100% on how impressive Ed is with his knowledge and execution of his acupuncture skills. My goal is get off of the gabapentin prescribed for the nerve pain and numbness (pins and needles). After 2 sessions, my daily life has improved immensely, in fact while on the table for the first treatment, my right side felt immediate relief! This is my first time trying acupuncture and I'm now a firm believer on the beneficial treatments and looking forward to a full recovery. read more

I highly recommend Ed as an acupuncturist in this area. He was very informative, professional and a great listener. I admire his healing gifts and the fact that he is straightforward. You get in and out with the best sincerity & quality of work. When the needles are inserted, they don't hurt. They're very tiny pinches so it's completely tolerable. I'd roughly estimate receiving 15-25 needles from my abdomen to my feet. You'll lay on a comfortable massage table for about 30 minutes with a heat lamp applied to your concerned area, used to relax the muscles. I personally believe that most people can benefit from acupuncture just as we get adjustments with the chiropractor - we need acupuncture to get the chi (energy) flowing throughout the body. You really have to come with an open mind. I compare this to meditating, some folks get it some DON'T. This guy is über passionate about what he does and has immense amount of knowledge. He takes the time and thoroughly explains himself and treatments. He is professional and very realistic with goals & outcomes. I just got home from my first appointment. I found this facility using Yelp. I'm trying acupuncture after having an MRI that revealed I have a condition with my spine that is not safe to continue chiropractic care. I have chronic pain in my neck and shoulder due to a damage nerve in my eye. The office is very clean and quiet. There is soothing music playing in the background. Dr. Ed greeted me right after I turned in my paperwork and we consulted in his office. He listened intently, asked a lot of question, and never rushed our conversation. He then explained the process of acupuncture and how it would apply to what I'm experiencing. We then went into a treatment room where he made sure I was comfortable before placing any needles. He took his time and it was clear he knew what he was doing. I will continue to see Dr. Ed for a few weeks and see how the pain is. Right now it's sore, but he said it would be. First impressions are awesome with Dr. Ed and this facility! Hoping this eliminates my pain!! Unfortunately, my insurance is not accepted here, but that is not their fault. Yesterday was my first visit to this establishment on the recommendation of VA healthcare. I didn't know what to expect since I've never experienced acupuncture so I was a bit nervous. Dr. Choi was very patient and thorough with his examination of me; I also came in with my 5 month old which wasn't a problem. He was very accommodating, answered all my questions with great elaborate explanations which made me feel at ease. I'm glad he explained how I might feel afterwards since this was my first visit so I'd know what to expect; it definitely made a difference because my body felt everything BUT in a good way. I have a couple more visits which I'm looking forward too based on how much of a difference I feel already just after one treatment. Wow, Ed is a VERY talented and capable acupuncturist. My wife came in with tenosynovitis (tendonitis of the thumb / forearm) with debilitating pain. He explained that after treatment it will feel sore, which it did - but the following day the pain was dramatically reduced --after just the first treatment! We went in for her second treatment today and again his bedside manner is beyond compare. Unlike other acupuncturists we've been to, Ed is 100% fluent in English and so is his staff so communication and getting your questions answered is not an issue. He is very attentive, courteous, great listener and makes sure you understand what you need to do before you go. His schedule is busy and yet when he is with you, its as if you're his one and only appointment. He is very attentive, patient, courteous and careful. You don't feel rushed at all. The office is small but very comfortable. The soft ambiance, calming, low volume piano music, the water feature and the decor make you feel like you're far away from your every day and you're now some place special. Unfortunately our insurance was not accepted but the out-of-pocket was NOT unreasonable for the QUALITY of CARE and the RESULTS we received. Trust me you DO get what you pay for! HE DOES ACCEPT INSURANCE, just not mine which is not his fault its my insurance. The staff will check your insurance at the time you call to make your appointment so you'll know what your situation is before you walk in the door. He does not push extra sessions or other services. It's like when you find a good mechanic and they fix what needs to be done without trying to milk you for more than is necessary. I had to find another acupuncturist after mine stopped taking my insurance. No longer able to afford paying out of pocket, I requested a new acupuncture referral and started doing my research for a new acupuncturist. It's so hit and miss finding a good practitioner, that I took a chance on IEA&H. Unlike my other acupuncturist, I started feeling better just after the first treatment. Ed is very informed, personable and professional. Also unlike my other acupuncturist, Ed Choi is very knowledgeable and knows that for my condition he needs to me consistent and aggressive. He wanted to see me every other day. For the first time in 2 years, I can now sleep at night without the constant ache in my joints. Before treatments with Mr. Choi, I was diagnosed with debilitating osteoarthritis and that my remaining life would require multiple fusion surgeries. This would greatly impact my quality of life as well as my working career. Just because you show arthritis on an x-ray doesn't mean that this is your cause of pain. Sometimes western medicine find a horse when they should be looking for a zebra. At least now, I can at least delay any future surgeries. No to mention stop taking the large amounts of daily medications I used to rely on. Edward Choi just might in fact return my life to me. I am still currently receiving treatments. I was originally wanting to hold off until my sessions were completed. But I felt compelled after 3 sessions to express my joy with the results I'm experiencing with Edward Choi's treatment. As a believer in acupuncture I was finally able to convince my health plan that I needed to have acupuncture to relieve my chronic leg pain. After 5 months I am so much better. I have never believed in this because my dad always said it hurt and it didn't work, but I was running out of options. SMOKING CESSATION I was referred to Dr. Aaron Hwang (Inland Empire Acupuncture & Herbs, Inc), for smoking cessation, by my daughter who sees him for pain management. Seeing the difference he has made in her life, and knowing that other methods I had used to quit smoking had failed, I decided to give acupuncture a try. YAY! My initial visit (or consultation) was on June 10, 2014. I went back the next day to begin treatment. Other than acupuncture, Dr. Hwang also had me keep a journal. This journal helped by making us aware of what triggered my need or desire for a cigarette, etc. He counselled me, supported me, and scolded me when I reverted. In 45 days, I have gone from smoking 1-1/2 packs a day to zero! I've been smoke free for 24 days and can feel the difference already. I've smoked more on than off for the past thirty plus years. I don't want to be dependent on cigarettes from this day forward. I know that there is still a chance that I will smoke again (most non-smokers have quit numerous times before they finally quit for good) , but after getting this far - right now I have no desire to smoke, smell or taste a cigarette. We will keep in touch over the next few months, so he can keep me on track. I feel that knowing he's there and not turning me loose, makes me more determined to DO THIS! Dr. Hwang is definitely my life-saver. Two months ago, a high-stress period in my life, I have diagnosed with Bells Palsy, a paralysis of facial nerve. Although my family doctor prescribed me some antivirals and steroids, I decided to try acupuncture after reading many studies. So, I found Dr. Hwang office on yelp. I was impressed with my first visit! Dr. Hwang is amazingly knowledgeable of what he is doing and deeply caring for his patients. My Bells Palsy symptoms started to improve after one week.
