The Truck Shop - Photo taken identifying the loose set screw nuts. But is also shows the new problem, the broken connection on the FCA.

I want to update this review to reflect how the shop handled my initial complaints. After my 2-star…read morereview, the shop called me immediately. They were professional, apologetic, and eager to make it right. They had me bring the truck back to correct the coolant mistake (they originally used OAT instead of HOAT). Since the system had to be drained anyway, I asked if they could install a new water pump I had purchased. They agreed and installed the pump for free. They also replaced a reservoir cap and some brake light bulbs at no charge going above and beyond the coolant correction. They also issued a $160 refund. Their customer service recovery was top-tier. However, I have to leave this at 3 Stars because the original mechanical errors were significant and dangerous: The set screws on the new Borgeson steering shaft were left loose without threadlocker. I had to disassemble the shaft grind a divot and fix it myself. On a heavy-duty truck, loose steering components are a massive risk. On the drive home from the shop, my check engine light came on and the engine started knocking and running much louder than usual. I inspected the area where they had been working and found they had broken the connector on the FCA (Fuel Control Actuator) aka MPROP, likely it was broken while they were wresting the heavy Power Steering Box into place. This caused an intermittent connection which causes high pressure to the injectors resulting in engine knock and it can destroy injectors. I had to order a replacement FCA and install it myself just to get the truck running right again before I could even bring it back for the coolant fix. The staff is friendly and they stand behind their work if you call them out, but the mechanical carelessness (broken FCA/MPROP, loose steering shaft, wrong coolant) is too much to overlook. I appreciate the refund and the fix, but I shouldn't have to diagnose broken connectors and tighten loose steering bolts after paying a shop. I really do appreciate them fixing the brake light though, I thought the light-out display was on due to my aftermarket headlights, so I'm adding a star back for the corrections, and extra services they provided.

He was straightforward, honest, and didn't try to sell me anything I didn't need. The quotes I received from other shops were all over the place, but Adam offered to inspect the issue and provide an estimate at no charge, which saved me from paying a $150 diagnostic fee just to get answers. The service was excellent from start to finish. Adam was friendly, professional, and genuinely cared about helping me. This was one of the best experiences I've had with an auto repair shop. In fact, I recently brought my BMW in as well, and he fixed that issue too. If you're looking for honest, quality automotive service without the runaround, I highly recommend Bear Alignment in Murrieta! Thanks Adam!

**AVOID THIS PLACE** this was our first and last time we will use this place for service! We took…read moreour 2023 BMW X1 to have the brakes and rotors changed on Friday 7/18/2026. When we picked up our vehicle it sounded like something was loose because every time we drove over a bump it sounded like the brakes would rattle and shift. In turn, we were going to call them today, Monday, 7/20/2026 to let them know that something sounds loose and if they can recheck it. However, today, 7/20/2026, on my way to work, I heard a loud breaking/popping sound, and soon after, the brakes started making a loud screeching and rubbing against the rotor. Then, once I pressed on the break, the breaks started to grind badly against the rotors, and the car would jolt as the car slowed down while the brakes where trying to grasp the rotor to slow down and come to a complete stop. Therefore, I had to turn around and head back home. However, the brakes were making an awful noise the whole way home and the grinding, as I pressed on the brakes, was uncomfortable and painful to hear and feel. With that said, I drove the car straight to the Murrietta location. I returned back at 8:00, when they opened, I had to find a ride to let them know what happened. They said they would fix it. Yes, they fixed it. However, the cause was that the caliper bolt broke while I was driving, which causes all the noise and grinding and the brakes scraping the inside of the rim. Their reaction seemed like it was a common error that happens when they work on vehicles. It appears that their workmanship and attention to detail is not important along with the safety for their customers. Thankfully, nothing serious happened while I was driving, but what if something drastic did happen. Worst of all what if something happened and my kids were in the car. Regrettably, this was the first time we decided not to take our car to the dealer to support smaller business. For those thinking about getting service here, think about if it is worth saving money or putting you and your family's safety at risk. Now, even though, they said they fixed the brakes, we may now have to take it the BMW dealer to make sure they, did in-fact, replaced the brakes and rotors correctly because the trust in this place is nonexistent.
