I want to update this review to reflect how the shop handled my initial complaints. After my 2-star review, the shop called me immediately. They were professional, apologetic, and eager to make it right. They had me bring the truck back to correct the coolant mistake (they originally used OAT instead of HOAT). Since the system had to be drained anyway, I asked if they could install a new water pump I had purchased. They agreed and installed the pump for free. They also replaced a reservoir cap and some brake light bulbs at no charge going above and beyond the coolant correction. They also issued a $160 refund. Their customer service recovery was top-tier. However, I have to leave this at 3 Stars because the original mechanical errors were significant and dangerous: The set screws on the new Borgeson steering shaft were left loose without threadlocker. I had to disassemble the shaft grind a divot and fix it myself. On a heavy-duty truck, loose steering components are a massive risk. On the drive home from the shop, my check engine light came on and the engine started knocking and running much louder than usual. I inspected the area where they had been working and found they had broken the connector on the FCA (Fuel Control Actuator) aka MPROP, likely it was broken while they were wresting the heavy Power Steering Box into place. This caused an intermittent connection which causes high pressure to the injectors resulting in engine knock and it can destroy injectors. I had to order a replacement FCA and install it myself just to get the truck running right again before I could even bring it back for the coolant fix. The staff is friendly and they stand behind their work if you call them out, but the mechanical carelessness (broken FCA/MPROP, loose steering shaft, wrong coolant) is too much to overlook. I appreciate the refund and the fix, but I shouldn't have to diagnose broken connectors and tighten loose steering bolts after paying a shop. I really do appreciate them fixing the brake light though, I thought the light-out display was on due to my aftermarket headlights, so I'm adding a star back for the corrections, and extra services they provided. read more

After three months and over $ 17,000 on repairs, had to return 7 times for major issues and would never recommend this shop.

My truck died and I had it towed to The Truck Shop. They quoted me $8500.00 to fix the issue. I took my truck back to my mobile mechanic that had worked on it in the past. He charged me $720.00 to do the repair. Outrageous pricing read more

I brought my 2008 3500 6.7 Dodge diesel ram into The Truck Shop and they fixed it after Perris Dodge told me they couldn't find anything wrong with it under warranty way back when. That was at 20k miles. It has 116k miles on it now, The Truck Shop was able to fix the shifting back to the way it was originally and there are no more surges. The costs and the time they took were more than fair, I thought I was looking at a transmission rebuild. They removed the pan, found the problem ordered the part and got the truck up and running like it was new. This shop is very honest and fair which is hard to find these days. I have been taking my company's work vehicles here for 4 years and have never been disappointed. Some vehicles of which we bring from San Diego because they always go above and beyond for us. Not only do we know the work is done well and right, but they explain everything and allow me to feel confident in the diagnosis, service, etc. The guys working on the vehicles are top notch and great at what they do. David and Bree at the front are awesome and extremely communicative and answer my questions to a T. It can be difficult to find a shop that's honest, fair priced and that also does incredible work. I brought my 2006 F-250 here due to all the good reviews I've seen on yelp. Needed some minor maintenance work completed. These guys are great, I asked for a complete overview of the truck just to make sure their was nothing that was going to surprise me as the truck sits most of the week and only driven on weekends. When the office call me a day later asking me if I had a second to go over what they have found, I thought the sales pitch of how bad my truck was and the thousands of dollars I was going to have pay to make it work like usual shops do. This call was the complete opposite, they went over what they found and what they completed, also a short list of things I need to keep an eye as the truck is getting to that point. I asked them to complete some of the recommendations now to get ahead of things, and that was it. When I went to pick up the truck they, again went over everything in great detail with me answering all my question and showing more option that could save me money in the long run. We were having some issues with our ford raptor on a long trip out to California and needed repairs while on our honeymoon for 2 weeks out of the country. The Truck Shop went above and beyond for us! Not only did they fix all our issues in time for us to get back into the country, they even came in on a Saturday this Memorial Day weekend for us to pick it up and drive back to North Dakota. My 2015 Silverado Duramax had the check engine light come on along with the dash information telling me I had 96 miles until it would limit it to 65 MPH well I was at 84 miles left while driving and the truck went into limp mode couldn't get it past about 1700 RPM so I could not get it to shift past 2nd gear got it home and called and spoke to David this was at 12:30 I had spoken to him earlier in the day and told him I was new to the area so I was looking for a new shop I used to work on my own vehicles but just getting to old for that I asked him a few questions which he gladly answered and seemed ok with that asked if his technician's had there certifications and he said they did I told him one of the codes that were showing up from the scanner and what he told me I liked his comment that we need to diagnose it first and go from there because we don't want to replace parts you don't need so I knew I was dealing with an honest person nowadays it's hard to find an independent shop that doesn't want to rack up a big bill. Fast forward had the truck towed to his shop now it's around 2:00 and by the end of the day I received a call with a diagnosis and at a fair price and better yet they told me they could have it ready for me by Noon the next day I will from now on be taking my diesel truck to these guys Thanks for the great service and communication read more

I purchased a brand-used 06 F250 6.0, and brought it here about six months ago to have it looked over. I know the 6 0's have a bad rap but its only because they either have not been maintained properly or have been bullet=proofed. Dave and Robert went over my truck and said it was in great shape. This gave me great confidence in purchasing the truck. I had the guys a few months later bullet proof it, and have had my oil and filters done at 5K miles every time. They know Ford's and will not BS you into getting things you dont need. I usually just leave my truck for the day and most work is done by close of business. I recently had my truck exhaust put on by the shop which was an MBRP 4"downpipe turbo back system installed. I picked it up an the end of the day but noted a slight rattle coming from the downpipe area. I know there is very little clearance on the downpipe so it is common for it to rub sometimes. I was about 3 clicks away from the shop when i noted the noise. I called Dave up after the shop had closed and told him the issue. He said bring it back in the AM and he will take care of it. I had to be in Mexico for a job, and needed the truck done first thing. Robert took me for a test drive that AM, and we both heard the problem. While waiting for my truck a few new customers came in to ask about mods they could do to their truck to save fuel, or gain hp. Dave was at the counter and could have BS's these guys but he told them what was possible and not possible. Everything he said was true, and he was trying to save his customers money that didnt need to be spent. They are very honest, and care about their business. Lets face it, diesels are not cheap to fix, not like a gasser. This shop has a lot of knowledgeable employees who do quality work. I would recommend anybody that is looking for a good diesel truck shop to look for further. The fact that they wanted to correct this mistake as soon as possible shows they care about their customers and the work they do. I am in Mexico as I write this, and my truck made there without any more rattle, and sounded great with the new exhaust. read more

The truck shop is THE shop to go to if you need anything taken care of on your truck. I just bought a truck and took it to them to have it given a once over. They identified a handful of legitimate items that they recommended I address (brakes, worn bushings and steering parts). They needed to keep the truck for a week or so to have time to get the necessary parts and complete the repairs. They were great at keeping me in the loop on the status of repairs, gave me options on potential upgrades like slotted rotors, and returned the truck to me in much better driving order than when I dropped it off. After driving it a few days I noticed a clunking noise at low speeds and they asked I bring it back when I could. They had an employee ride with me to hear the noise, and ten minutes later he had adjusted some stuff and had me on my way good as new. If you're looking for a shop that's thorough, knows their shit, and are honest about pricing and recommendations this is the place. I will only be bringing my truck here moving forward. read more

This is seriously the best mechanic! We took our truck to dodge originally, who then diagnosed it and said the transmission needed a full rebuild at almost $4500! We decided to get a second opinion (thank goodness!), and landed at the truck shop. They were able to diagnose the true issue and fix it all in one day for less than a quarter of what dodge quoted. Bri and David were great people to deal with our problems. Our truck is like 19 years old and had a ECM issue. They don't make parts for our truck, 2003 Silverado. They found a refurbish one from a vendor. However the truck could not pass the smog check. They found another vendor and installed it and the truck passed. I saw the reviews on this place and said oh great! Looks like no issues here. Unfortunately I was less than pleased with my experience here. My truck had a failure on its break line and needed immediate repair. I'm not one to normally take my truck into a shop but I was too busy at work to handle this myself. I took my truck in on a Friday and they had not gotten to it yet and that was fine. But no call on this. Monday came and went. No call. And finally 4 days later I received a call and was told the issue. Awesome, told them I was okay to get it fixed with a quote of 350 for brake lines and 450 for a vacuum pump failure. Total of 800 dollars. Another weekend came and went and I called the following Monday, 10 days without my truck. And was told I was waiting on parts.. for brake lines and that did sound odd but said okay. Now on Friday, 14 days later I was told my truck was finished. Went in ready to pay around 800 dollars, the original quote... and was given a close to 1500 dollar bill. Obviously to my surprise I questioned further. Was told there was a lot more labor and all of my belts had been replaced. They did take the belts off the charge and brought the price down to 1200 dollars. Still 400 more than quoted. But better than the 700. Brake lines were told to be stainless and aren't. Communication of how long to be without my daily driven truck was less than expected. Really had higher expectations of them and was unfortunately let down and reminded why I just do things myself. read more

My truck had a serious coolant leak. I called Kenny at around 9 a.m. he said bring it in right away. They got right on my problem. It ended up being my water pump which they changed quickly. I have a 2005 Ford F-350 Superduty 6.0 that I blew my head gaskets and cracked my heads at 110,000 miles; I knew this was not going to be cheap but more importantly to me I needed it fixed right! Needless to say I used the The Truck Shop with confidence knowing my truck would be fixed right and I would not get ripped off. I know this because they have worked on all my cars for other service requirements while I was deployed (of course cars break when I'm deployed, they always do when I'm gone) and in my absence my wife took our cars there (ford expidition and Honda Accord; yes my daughters Honda) . I am familiar with the maintenance and hourly wages for car service so when my wife would tell me what they diagnosed and the price I was pleasantly surprised. I had no worries about price or quality or even WARRANTY!! Back to my truck...I ended up going with the bullet proof option which Included ARP, bullet proof EGR cooler upgrade, coolant filtration kit(already had one installed), all the new fuel plug upgrades and other gasket upgrades only known by The Truck Shop because they know fords, and new remanufactured heads (I cracked my stocks). I already was aware I blew my head gaskets prior to Kenny diagnosing it. The one test I had for Kenny (of course I didn't tell him) was I asked him what he thought about me getting the bullet proof diesel oil cooler upgrade (that's over $3000 upgrade) he recommended against it as an unnecessary cost. Right then I knew he was a straight shooter!! Prior to me getting my truck fixed my Engine oil temp (EOT) and my Engine coolant temp (ECT) would be always 10-13 degrees of separation (not towing-75-85 degrees days), of course that's still within spec but too close to getting out of spec, my oil was typically higher. Towing my specs jumped up to about 15-20 degrees of separation and climb in parallel when going up the grade on the 8 highway leaving Glamis. AFTER the work done by The Truck Shop my temps are within 4-5 degrees not towing and towing now I am at 8-10 degrees consistently and my truck feels stronger now towing especially at higher speeds/more pedal!!! The work came with a year warranty and some good mileage (I can't recall the mileage warranty distance) but the work was done fast, clean, and with a fair price. BTW, I did this review about 2-3 months after the work was done so I could give a fair review of the work and my trucks newly refreshed power while towing. I will say I can work my 6.0 with confidence knowing it has been bullet proofed, back and better than stock and the work that was done proves it over and over (many tow trips to Gordons Well, Glamis, and Ocotillio)!! I highly recommend this shop even for non-diesel and import vehicles, they'll fix it right, fair price, great customer service, and HONEST! Thanks guys! They give mechanics a good name! One last thing I almost forgot, my EGTs are lower as well and my truck actually cools a lot faster too. read more
