This place is much better than the reviews show. The doctor's are very knowledgeable and the staff is professional and friendly. I never have any problems with my prescriptions or anything else. I believe if you are honest with the doctors then they will treat you accordingly. Dr. Choi is very capable and explains medications so that you can easily understand. read more

Dr. Kanu is terrible. He is lacking empathy, is a poor listener and very unconcerned. In pain management, patients are living with real life severe pain daily- and Dr. Kanu takes that very lightly. A poor excuse for a doctor, he places judgement on appearance. He is not organized, he came in to our patient room and was following up on notes off another patients chart, notes that had nothing to do with our case. We will not be returning. read more

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!!! If I could provide less than 1 star (...and give negative Stars like another person reviewing below), I would. I normally never post reviews online, but after being mishandled for more than 5 weeks with this company - and with my Medical file not being properly requested or located ...I felt I had to, or feel I have to say something. Let me start by saying that I am one of those really laid-back types of people, so it takes a lot to to rattle me or cause me to loose my patience. So, here is my "WARNING!" to you: "If you want to be served well, simply STAY AWAY FROM ALL Inland Pain Medicine Offices". Unfortunately, it appears they have a disjointed/ uncoordinated system. Upon my first visit with the Doctor, whom seemed like a nice guy; he expressed his most sincerest apologies for his Office's lack of follow-through & Professionalism - and not having my files ready for my appointment. I really didn't understand why he spoke as such on the first visit or where all of that tone was coming from; until I tried to assure my records were secured for the next appointment. As a group of Medical practitioners... their Front Desk Reception Staff, Medical Assistants & Nursing Staff actually seem more like a bunch of "Keystone Cops". Basically, a bunch of bumbling idiots - and again, it takes alot for me to call names. At IPM, their right hand simply doesn't know what the left is doing. Their Colton Office seems to be slightly nicer looking, and the hub for the Operation; but they also seem to be just as unorganized. When, YOU, as their Patient are simply seeking their proper follow-through; they become offended at the slightest of question. I think they are extra sensitive to concerns or complaints; because they have likely angered many past Patients. What I am saying is this: "I think Inland Pain Medicine is one of those types of Facilities only seeking to find a way to ~Bill Your Insurance~ ; but not actually do any work or provide a satisfactory Service." Primary Care Physicians really should stop & never be referring people in pain to IPM. SO ...with all of that said, if you don't mind having a "MORE STRESSFUL & PAINFUL" experience when going to a Pain Management Doctor - just disregard all of the "1 Stars" for Inland Pain Medicine and become their Patient. If you want to stand a fighting chance of getting out of pain, do not make the mistake I made and...: "COMPLETELY STAY AWAY FROM INLAND PAIN MEDICINE!!!!! Dr Hasseltene is the owner and knows his field well. However, when did patient care take the backseat to the almighty dollar? First appt late 2015. Extremely difficult getting someone on the phone. The Upland facility was dirty and rundown. Walked in to appt with someone complaining of questionable care for elderly mother and lack of communication. Next appt was at San Bernardino location then Colton. The biggest concern was lack of consistency in availability and information. Had to get surgery center to intervene with pre-op instructions. IPM felt a 1 day notification was appropriate which should have been 5 days. Understandable that appointment is necessary to dispense meds. However, appts are also needed to ask questions regarding meds. I would call, leave messages and for the most part heard nothing back. The 1 call i received stated i needed to make an appt. Of course, the dr was never avaiable prior to prior to already scheduled appt. Adamantly told I was not allowed to see another dr. Staff is extremely unprofessional. Will not return calls when they disconnect you after having you on hold for 15+ mins. Josie was the best at dropping calls. Appts are given away with no attempt to correct error. Pharmacy tech, illegally giving advise on how to take medication. Sooo much more. The worst was after mentioning and complaining to dr hasseltene (owner) several times, ties were severed. Not only did he agree information giving was incorrect, he continued to make excuses for his staff. Certain meds must be tapered out of system. In my case, I was stopped cold turkey putting me at risk of respiratory issues and told to 2 norco 10 tablets per day. When my primary was notified a call to dr Hasseltene was had. I'm to take 4 norco 10 tabs a day to hopefully manage pain. When did medical care become more about the money and not patient care? What about the oath .... read more

Been forced into ER 2x last week because no one gives a shit that they dont' know how to PA (prior auth)meds w ins co and no one cares if your are suffering. On call providers don't bother to call back. The PA's. (phys asst) are incompetent and argue with you. Ami was stupid enough to tell me she "just assumed" re my medication. These folks have no idea what is available re generic oxycontin. I told her that no one within 50 miles of me can get it bc the mfg will not release it as told to me by 3 pharmacists. Tells me I'm wrong sends over an rx anyway and had to return to Inl Pain to get another RX. BTW the prev RX was for Oxycontin not even Oxycodone. Worst exp ever since Obama care. I have UHC and they suck too. They told me they are deliberately "weaning people off pain meds". This their idea of wean: was taking highest dose of Xtampza 3x a day. Will only approve lowest dose 1 1/2 x a day...you cannot cut a casule in 1/2. Also because opiate withdrawal "can't kill you" no one will help and treat you like a common junkie. If your looking for a caring place to help you deal with your pain, this is not it! If you call be prepared to be on hold forever. Then when you get someone and ask for help. They will say I will message your doctor. That message never seems to get there. My doctor went on Vacation, I was called the Friday before my Tuesday appointment. I told The nurse that I would be out of my medication on Tuesday. I was told not to worry the cancellation wasn't my fault and they would take care of it. Knowing how there office works, II called Monday to make sure my prescription would be sent in. I was told not to worry. I called Tuesday and was told the same thing. I was out of ny meds for almost a week. I called everyday and had to plead with a supervisor more than once for help. The pharmacist felt so bad she called and was treated disrespectfully. Then I had to leave town for my sister's surgery. I went over this with my Dr. before I went. I was assured she was going to put in a prescription at a pharmacy near where I was. I called a week before over and over again. I flew home in tears, because pain was unbearable. The flight attendant felt so bad for me she even had tears in her eyes. Then once home it took me 5 days of agony calling and calling to get a prescription in. I was in a head on crash years ago. I have metal in my femur, ankle, mouth and I have a crack in the fusion in my back. I was bed confined 2 years and in a wheel chair for 9. I have NEVER once wondered why I was saved until now.
