12/02 My elderly mother was transported via emergency services and arrived at approximately 7PM. My mom called me at approximately 2:20AM to tell me she was ready to come home because she was tired of sitting in a wheelchair. Shame on you San Antonio Hospital! Roberto Z - told my mom she's not the only one here. When my mom was asking for care. I arrived at approximately 2:40 AM and after almost losing my cool with security, I got to see my mom. At Approx. 3:05 am Roberto Z. wheeled my mom to a room after having waited 8 hours sitting in a chair. Roberto wheeled her to a room and just left her there sitting in the chair. He did not make any attempt to assist with transferring from the chair to the bed. He just left her in the chair and in a very robotic tone mentioned something about waiting for the doctor as he was walking out. I approached the nursing station and requested help with transferring my mom along with the oxygen tank to the bed. The large banner in front of the hospital is a bold statement to make especially when the hospital did not treat my elderly mom with respect and care. Do better San Antonio Hospital! On my way out at 3:55 am I observed 8 empty beds and 4 recliners chairs yet my mother sat in a wheelchair for 8 hours.

How many people will be allowed in the delivery room? An example would the father and my mom be able to be with me?

There is only 1 people go with you in the delivery room, and 2 people with you in the recovery room.

How is the delivery room is there a rating for labor and delivery or maternity ward?

Is 7 hours for this emergency normal?

Depending on your emergency and how busy the ER is that night / day. I have haven't waited that long but it I did other patients must be really sick ahead of me or my reason for being there was a non emergency emergency.

Do mothers get their own private recovery room after delivery?

I did when I delivered I think it depends on how many women deliver and if they have room

I am fully aware of anxiety/ panic attacks and this wasn't it. I had severe chest pains, high blood pressure, severe headache, sweating and started vomiting so finally decided it was time to go once I started vomiting. Mind you I was about 6-7 weeks post op a total hysterectomy. I went with no bra because the chest pain was so intense and my abdomen was still so sore from surgery. The man who did my ekg asked if I'm comfortable just walking around with no bra ... I was pretty shocked it being the ER but told him yes I can care less because my situation. I barley could walk due to the dizziness and vision problems I was having aside from everything else. But no biggie I brushed it off. Then the man who did my IV tells me, can you walk?! As I was in a wheelchair. I was like no dude I'm so dizzy and sore from my surgery. Made me feel like such an inconvenience and very embarrassed. Long story short they chummed it up to be chest pain and anxiety. I never even mentioned it had anxiety so that was weird. I expressed how bad my heart and chest was feeling and the ER doctor basically said I needed to follow up with an endocrinologist and there was nothing they could do aside from the meds they gave me. I was in complete disbelief. Went home feeling horrible but followed up with my primary and now I am seeing an endocrinologist who is sending me to Loma Linda hospital. You really have to advocate for yourself. It's so sad how they make you feel and brush off your symptoms. Especially when you're at your absolute worst. Even on my forms you can tell they tread lightly labeling it chest pain but still slightly mentioned my pheochromocytoma. Also, would have been nice for them to mention I had kidney stones but the emergency room doesn't feel that is a serious issue so I am aware they wont mention the findings, but its listed as some of the most painful heath issues. The wait was fine. Expected from an ER. If I end up here again I truly pray they do better and hope people get the care and compassion they need. I left two stars because my visit was in March. Today I visited the main hospital to retrieve my scans on a disk to give to the endocrinologist for the tumor and the gentleman who was volunteering in a wheelchair was amazing helping me navigate the hospital. The woman in medical records was also so very sweet and kind.

The discharge was effortless- no waiting, no bs, no fuss, no cross selling. The parking lot( photo) is literally 40 yards from the ER entrance. X rays on the premises. I was rear ended in a car accident. I was rocked. My back, neck and right shoulder were jacked up. I went to a hospital ER in the area and it was slammed. So I went on our good ol' Yelp and found this wonderful urgent care. Everything about this experience - the first phone call with Gabrielle, her care, concern and professionalism; her being on the ball and so efficient( btw she is a US Navy Veteran)- this set the tone for a great and calming visit. Dr Cho was incredible. Very personable, cool, related to me and was just so very thorough as he covered every possible avenue and took his time treating me, testing my reflexes and my areas of concern. He was very thorough. He showed me and detailed all of my x rays. The office was immaculate. Clean and very well organized. I had explained to the doctor that my back had been injured for over 2 weeks so he prescribed 5mg of Flexeril for 10 days. After taking this and staying away from the gym for 6 days, there was ZERO improvement. The medicine wasn't doing a thing for me. So i called them to see if they could switch up my muscle relaxant and they said I'd have to come in again. WHAT! I was literally just there for the same exact problem and you want me to return?!? They just want another reason to bill my insurance, as if my first copay wasn't high enough. My advice- if you can wait for your primary doc- WAIT! OR find an urgent care where they really want to help and not just collect on insurance.
