My experience at San Antonio Regional Hospital was disappointing. While some of the staff were kind and tried their best, communication was inconsistent, and it was often difficult to get clear updates about my loved one's care. There were long wait times, and it sometimes felt like concerns were not addressed as quickly as they should have been. I understand that hospitals can be very busy, but during such a stressful time, better communication and more attentive care would have made a significant difference. I hope the hospital takes steps to improve the overall patient and family experience. Especially my son. Especially after he got upstairs to his regular room. read more

On July 29, 2026, at approximately 12:10 a.m., my mother was transported from the City of Fontana to San Antonio Regional Hospital in Upland because she was showing signs of a stroke. She was not eating and was too weak to drink through a straw. I stayed with her for approximately five hours. It took Dr. Dalia Nessman about two hours to evaluate my mother. I explained that my mother had a yellow vaginal discharge. A male charge nurse prepared the equipment needed for Dr. Nessman to conduct a vaginal examination. After examining my mother while I was present, Dr. Nessman stated she did not see any vaginal discharge. She lied in front of 2 RN and myself. The discharge was present and she refused to obtain a sample of the vagina discharge. My mother was discharged within approximately seven hours despite being weak and frail. Dr. Nessman instructed Nurse Carlos to call me. When I asked Nurse Carlos several questions regarding my mother's condition and discharge instructions, he told me that those questions needed to be addressed by Dr. Nessman. Dr. Nessman did not return my call, answer my questions, or contact me, even though I am listed as my mother's emergency contact. I could just imagine how Dr. Nessman uses her religion to her advantage to protect her lazy, hateful unprofessional self. The following day, I had to take my mother back to the emergency room, where she was admitted to the hospital for several days. I was informed that pressure related to her heart was at 50, when it should have been 60. I am deeply concerned my mother required three emergency-room visits within five days. I believe her initial condition and symptoms should have been evaluated more thoroughly before she was discharged. Based on my experience, I found Dr. Nessman to be unresponsive and unprofessional. Stuck having to leave a yelp review because I didn't get a patient survey. This place needs an overhaul. To start, inexperienced phlebotomist that couldn't find my veins to draw blood passed me to several people before they finally used an ultrasound. One nurse ended up fishing in my hand trying to find a vein and caused me to have a huge bruise. I needed a CT scan with contrast, got sent for just a regular CT, took them 3 hours just to repeat the test. Lots of back and forth and lack of communication. Worst of all, I spent a full 24 hours here just to be seen and discharged. read more

I came into the ER after my water broke 2 years ago . I was 9 months pregnant, and I was scared due to the amniotic fluid gushing out of my body. When i came into the ER, the staff was very quick to take me to the waiting room and were very urgent and friendly with me. My #1 priority was my son, and they made sure to prioritize him. They began checking my and his heart rate and even checked to see if i'm dilating..They asked important questions and moved fast. I did NOT feel rushed nor disrespected by any point of the waiting period. When my son's heart rate became high, they rushed in and made sure to help fix and calm the fetal heart rate and genuinely seemed to care about our well-being. When the time came, I had epidural, I was induced and the contractions were very painful still. The nurses made sure to come in and check on me often, and give support and even checked for dilation as often as I kept asking. When it came time to deliver, they were quick to take me to the delivery room and I began pushing for my son. The nurse was patient and supportive the whole time with me, and kept encouraging me. I was pushing for over 3 and a half hours. The DR was a bit more stern, but I knew she was very busy and it was cutting it close for my delivery limit before it becomes crucial for the baby. When he was born, the DR was very quick to catch the baby, and nurses jumped in to help and do everything in their power to make sure I was comfortable and the baby and I were ok. When we got our room to rest in with our son, they checked in often as they are supposed to, and were always professional. They'd periodically tell me to stay and rest, and ask my husband questions and for assistance with the baby if they needed anything from him. I like how considerate they were of me and my needs. They were very clean, fully supplied, and made sure to check that my body was ok and I wasn't bleeding a lot or having side effects. I was allowed to stay however long I wanted too. They never once made me feel rushed with staying. Thank you . I am planning on giving birth to my second baby here soon. FYI my son had no issues or anything after we left the hospital. read more

I'm not sure how this hospital has a 2 star review! I recently had to come to the ER with severe lain in my leg. They were as quick as you can consider considering you're in an emergency room. Update.. they had done an x-ray at San Antonio they said nothing was broken.. end up going to the orthopedic where they find two fractures. Just here to give a tip... if you are injured and can't walk and in pain and need help, just wait and see an orthopedic doctor somewhere. They only do an X-ray and say go see an orthopedic. I am sharing this experience out of genuine concern for patient safety from the EMERGENCY ROOM, staffing accountability, inadequate and sub-standard care, and the growing lack of empathy in parts of today's POST COVID healthcare system. On March 11, 2026, I lost consciousness in a public office after experiencing hypotension (BP approximately 90/70), a pulse exceeding 138, and severe neurological symptoms including blurred vision, tremors, and extreme head pain. The paramedics responded to the call, then I was transported by an EMT company to the hospital with clear communication of my condition, including my history of congestive heart failure (CHF), COPD, and other chronic illnesses. Upon arrival, my care immediately deviated from what was communicated to the paramedics by those who called 911 to what information received by the hospital. I was initially placed in a holding area and later informed I was being treated for "vomiting and diarrhea"--symptoms I never had and repeatedly denied. Despite clearly explaining that I had fainted, experienced severe hypotension, and neurological distress, this incorrect diagnosis followed me throughout my stay. Key concerns during my visit: Failure to accurately assess presenting condition: Both nursing staff and physicians relied on incorrect intake information despite multiple corrections. Delayed and inadequate treatment: An IV was placed but fluids were not administered for several hours--even with suspected hypotension. Medication mismanagement: I provided a full list of my prescribed medications, including critical heart medications. I missed multiple scheduled doses due to lack of physician orders and inattention. Inappropriate isolation and restrictions: I was placed on NPO (no food or fluids) and isolation protocols for symptoms I never exhibited, while my actual condition was ignored. Lack of physician oversight: I was repeatedly told that the attending physician had "gone home," leaving nurses without proper direction for escalating care. Dismissive and concerning staff behavior: When I advocated for myself and requested appropriate cardiac and neurological evaluation, I was met with frustration. At one point, after stating I would record for my protection, security personnel were brought into my room rather than addressing my medical concerns. It was only after a charge nurse intervened that my condition was taken seriously. I was finally placed on cardiac monitoring and evaluated more appropriately. However, this level of care was inconsistent and temporary. Over the course of multiple days: I was repeatedly misclassified under incorrect diagnoses My symptoms (orthostatic hypotension, severe headaches, near-syncope) remained largely unaddressed Specialist consultations (cardiology and neurology) were never initiated despite clear medical necessity My established physicians were never contacted The discharge process was equally troubling. I was told I required physical therapy clearance, which was never properly conducted. A brief observation of me moving from bed to a commode was documented as "clearance" without vitals or evaluation. I was discharged without appropriate instructions, without necessary medications, and without coordination of care. Following discharge, my cardiologist identified medication-related complications that should have been addressed during hospitalization. What changed...? When are our voices heard now. read more

I got in a DAM CAR CRASH!!!! TOOK 5HRS TO GET SEEN NOT BY A DOCTOR, A NURSE! I pay $500 a month for health insurance. This is absolutely insane. WTF IS GOING ON WITH THIS HOSPITAL. 12/02 My elderly mother was transported via emergency services and arrived at approximately 7PM. My mom called me at approximately 2:20AM to tell me she was ready to come home because she was tired of sitting in a wheelchair. Shame on you San Antonio Hospital! Roberto Z - told my mom she's not the only one here. When my mom was asking for care. I arrived at approximately 2:40 AM and after almost losing my cool with security, I got to see my mom. At Approx. 3:05 am Roberto Z. wheeled my mom to a room after having waited 8 hours sitting in a chair. Roberto wheeled her to a room and just left her there sitting in the chair. He did not make any attempt to assist with transferring from the chair to the bed. He just left her in the chair and in a very robotic tone mentioned something about waiting for the doctor as he was walking out. I approached the nursing station and requested help with transferring my mom along with the oxygen tank to the bed. The large banner in front of the hospital is a bold statement to make especially when the hospital did not treat my elderly mom with respect and care. Do better San Antonio Hospital! I went in January due to sharp chest pains all for a "cardiologist " to tell me its bc of my pacemaker that the ekgs came back abnormal...again same pain occurred this past Monday and I refused to go there so I went to Montclair er and I was admitted in for the night to be monitored.. Montclair is a less better looking hospital in but took WAAY better care of me than at san Antonio. Now I only have 3 months of life left due to having congestive heart failure!!! What hospital tells a patient they don't have thickener and they need to bring their own?! This has got to be one of the worst hospitals I have ever been to. No case manager or social workers available. They often lack specialists. They constantly discharge patients who are misdiagnosed. They refused to give my family member a surgery to repair her broken knee. Her orthopedist said she absolutely needed the surgery. They misdiagnosed a family member with anxiety when she was having a thyroid crisis and fatal reaction to the thyroid medication. But that's just my experience and my opinion. read more

This review is for JANET BLOCK of San Antonio ambulatory Unit she is Amazing to say the least I had a Total Knee Replacement on 3/24/26. This was my 2nd replacement. The lady in charge then was not Janet. Janet was there to call me the night before my surgery to check on me and to see if I had any questions or concerns. The day of surgery she was with me along the way. She would just show up all different times to say Hi, or just pop in. She made it so much more comfortable for me. I had a small complication and was admitted for 2 days. This was an outpatient procedure. I was scared poop less to say the least. My oxygen levels were too low and I kept vomiting. Janet was there for that too. While I was there I wanted some Cheetos and they didn't have them. Janet went to n her personal stash of treats and got me an entire handful of goodies from her personal stash. She also kept me calm and patient. I have 0 patience. She came on checked on me the last am before I was discharged and said goodbye. That unit has improved a lot and I could tell a difference with the nurses, drs, and staff. Thank you Janet for making my surgery your #1 priority and making sure I was as comfortable I could be, and keeping me calm in the midst of a storm. read more

For Labor & Delivery and NICU departments only: I recently gave birth to my first child at San Antonio Hospital. I was so pleasantly surprised with the level of care we both received while in the hospital. The labor and delivery nurses were all absolutely incredible, seriously I didn't have one negative experience with any of them. Additionally, my son had to spend his first five days in the NICU. I was equally as impressed with the NICU nurses. Everyone was so, so incredibly kind to my son, my family, and me. I cannot recommend delivering at San Antonio Hospital enough! I was born there, as was my father, and now my son. Thank you to all of the nurses who helped me and my son during my first birth, you will not be forgotten!! read more

My friend was admitted with severe sepsis . He was delusional and suicidal . He kept getting out of his restraints , unplugging his IVs, and yelling and swearing. This is a side effect from sepsis . His wife went home to rest and took sleeping aids . She got a call at 1:00 a.m. and at 3:30 a.m. asking her to come in and get him because he kept getting out of restraints and Walking The Halls . She got a call at 8:00 a.m. and they told her that he had signed himself out and left the hospital. He was delirious and suicidal and they let sign papers to leave? He left with Hospital gown and Hospital pants on and two patient belonging bags . His wife found him walking down the street trying to find his way home. This was unbelievable! This was unacceptable for any Hospital . I would give this Hospital zero Stars if this app would allow me to . Do everything you can to not go to this hospital! read more

Let me start by saying I didn't care about the wait time, which was over 3 hours. I went in for groin pain, one of the triage nurses changed it to back pain. When I finally saw the FNP-C his main and only focus was back pain which I still don't have. He wanted to give me pain meds and I wanted to know what they were for and he said, "Pain" I told him they were different types of pain which require different types of pain management. He went on to say he wanted to send me to a back specialist, then told me I needed a scan. I asked what it was for and he said my back and that it probably wouldn't show anything. My discharge papers show no diagnosis. The fact he chose not to address my reasons for being there is a complete lack of empathy and he did do harm. I will be reporting him. read more

Horrible service.. we waited over 4 hours for x ray results when we had suffered a bad injury , possible fractures. This is a ridiculous wait time for just x rays. Mind you patient was in pain and communicated that she suffered head injury and other fractures around her body. Then proceeded to wait another 3 hours for a ct scan. This is the first time I've ever waited this long. There are patients screaming in the lobby and the people at the front desk don't even help. It's really unfortunate to see the work environment here and the lack of empathy. I have heard nothing but negative responses from the workers. In addition, the area is a MESS. One star for the ER .. 5 stars for observation nurses. I was direct admitted by my doctor after a surgical procedure brought in by ambulance and I lay in a room in misery with an empty IV bag, no medication, not a single nurse came to see me. Doctor came in for 1.5min. It took 2hrs to get a commode to use the bathroom because I was a fall risk. 6hrs to be moved to another ER room where the nurse wouldn't change my IV that was causing me pain and I didn't make it to obs til 4am after coming in at 6pm. Was discharged at 7am. The suffering was unreal. Go somewhere else. read more

One star because the ICU staff was wonderful. But that's where it stops. Once she was moved the quality of care flew out the window. I understand that in ICU you get more one-on-one care, but the lack of attention given was just truly heartbreaking. There's nothing like watching someone you love die. While those who are supposed to be taking care of her don't even bother to clean her up. My loved one passed and they released her body not to her husband, but to another family member without her husband's consent. How on earth is that remotely possible? The hospital was made aware that there was a family riff between both sides. While at the hospital, they tried to get the husband to sign a consent form which he refused. yet they still went ahead and released her body without his consent. Now they're saying that it's the morgue's fault that they didn't do their due diligence. Talk about trying to pass the blame. read more

This is only for outpatient surgery service My mother in Law had to have a hysterectomy here. She was an outpatient. They brought her in at 5am and took her back to prep her about 630am. Surgery was done by 930ish and we were able to start seeing her by 11am. Staff was very communicative and friendly. We had no issues ON THIS SIDE. Once the surgery was finished. We had to wait for her to pee to show normal waste function. When we moved to the ACU waiting area while she recovered, the receptionists were very annoying. They don't have tvs with patient numbers like the other waiting area. A nurse started screaming out names. Some were very loud and communicating about patients loudly as well. Very unprofessional as this is not a a place to be loud, especially workers. They set the tone and it was so loud on that side. Didn't seem like a hospital environment at all. There didn't seem to be any privacy for patients as well. That should be addressed asap. The Rugs on this side were badly stained. Looked very dirty. She was ready to leave by 130pm. Took her home to rest and had to wait 2 weeks for results from surgery. read more

Dr Talwar saved my life. Went in with a stroke and he knew what to do in order to prevent permanent damage. Every physician, nurse, and staff member was amazing. My recovery is coming along smoothly and it's solely because of them. Every specialist I saw had the best bedside manner, they listened, cared, and continued running tests until the answer was found. Dr Chang, Dr Samarany, Dr Shareef, & Dr Kasem went above and beyond. The nurses were attentive, kind, and explained everything in detail. Marcos in the ICU ensured my condition didn't worsen during the most critical time after my treatment. My speech therapist, physical therapists, case management, RNs, CNAs, transport, food service, hospitality, every single person I interacted with..I can't rant and rave enough. I appreciate you all. This review is specifically for Dr. Sana Ahmed. We brought our 14-month-old son to the emergency room by ambulance at 9:45 p.m. and were discharged around 1:30 a.m. Throughout our entire visit, we received almost no guidance or explanation and only spoke to the doctor once. Dr. Ahmed was extremely rude and dismissive. After waiting more than three hours with no updates, we had to track down a nurse ourselves just to understand what to do moving forward regarding our son's breathing and the results of his chest X-ray. Because it was the middle of the night and our son was exhausted, he finally fell asleep around 1 a.m. Shortly after, Dr. Ahmed entered the room (after someone finally notified her to update us) speaking very loudly. My husband and I politely asked if she could speak a little quieter since our child had just fallen asleep after being awake all night. Her response was, "Oh, I'm not yelling. Okay, I thought you wanted me to update you?" We explained--calmly--that yes, we did want an update, but asked if she could lower her voice given the situation. She replied, "Well, I've been here all night too." She then abruptly walked out of the room without providing any explanation of our son's condition, results, or next steps. I have never experienced care like this before. We left feeling confused, dismissed, and deeply upset. The lack of compassion, communication, and professionalism was shocking--especially when caring for a sick child. I will not be returning to this hospital, and I sincerely hope Dr. Sana Ahmed gains more compassion and empathy for her patients--especially new parents who are scared, exhausted, and relying on clear communication during stressful emergencies. read more

This review is for the urgent care in Rancho Cucamonga at 7777 Milliken Avenue, Rancho Cucamonga, CA, 91730. I took my father for his 2:30pm appointment on Friday, August 29, 2025. He was experiencing shortness of breath, ongoing cold symptoms, and extreme fatigue. He went in and was told he immediately needed to head to the ER due to an extremely high blood pressure. They didn't call for an ambulance to take him to the ER. They just told him to go on his own to ER. They weren't even fully aware that I was with him and he had transportation. So, in essence, they released a 90 year old man experiencing shortness of breath and a 228 blood pressure, to make his own way to the ER. He walked out of the urgent care barely able to walk on his own. I took him to the ER and a week later, he passed. His condition was so bad with diagnosed congestive heart failure, it was just really bad. I don't know how a nurse could see him in his condition and just so casually release him to make his own way to the ER. It just seems lazy and uncaring. My issue with urgent care is, I am just amazed and shocked that they would just so casually see this 90 year old man, struggling and in such bad condition and tell him to make his own way to the ER. I truly recommend this facility for surgery. I had an excellent experience. Pre-op nurse Mickol very nice. Phlebotomist was able to draw my blood very quickly and no bruising . I always have trouble in other facilities due to my veins. Surgery Staff is very caring . Very professional and compassionate. ACU nurses Liz and Jenny amazing. All nurses in OR holding room , in OR, in recovery very nice and friendly made my surgery experience less nervous. I've had previous surgeries in other facilities and I've seen the anesthesiologist in the operating room, here at San Antonio hospital, I was able to see the anesthesiologist and speak to him throughly about my concerns. He was patiently listening to me and looking at my chart. This is the very first time that an anesthetic takes the time to check my mouth and my teeth making sure I'm good for surgery. While I was in the surgery room , they asked if I liked music and I said yes so they turned on the music. To make me feel comfortable prior to falling asleep. I truly recommend this hospital . The nurses are rude. My family and having a hard time dealing difficult time, a relative of mine is in the hospital on lifesupport and we asked for an update. Instead of saying we normally don't update every family and make an exception this one time she rudely refused stating that we had to go to our spokesperson to get an update and that was there little job to update everyone. Then she got on the phone and my family member that is the "spokesperson" that it is here responsibility to make sure everyone is updated and that the nurses that were sitting gossiping when I walked up would be the ones to updates us. Only one was actually doing something of that required actual attention out of the three of them that were sitting there. read more

A Heartfelt Thank You On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, my dad suffered a heart attack and was rushed to San Antonio Hospital. From the moment we arrived at the emergency room starting with the security/front desk staff, to the nurses, ER doctors, cardiologist, and everyone in recovery we were met with compassion, professionalism, and care. Yes, the emergency room was busy, and I'm sure the staff was under a lot of pressure, but you would never know it. Everyone worked together seamlessly, and the care my dad received was exceptional. So the er wait was long even tho it wasnt really busy at the time i went. But thanks to the er dr for admitting me. She told me i had diabetes and i was so scared but all the nurses from the time i was there were all so caring and so supportive and informative of all i needed to know. I had a great experience. And thanks to the case manager and pharmacist for helping me get my medications i needed to take home. read more

The staff sits at the reception desk talking about Patients and other staff one male nurse talked about a pts past visits right at reception in front of everyone! They don't share companionate care. All the patients wait in the halls or lobby not in a room for privacy. There are homeless ppl asking for a bit to eat and they are so horrible to them ! The security team also thinks they are police officers smh. This hospital has continued to go downhill the last 18 years it's horrible! read more

If you're thinking of doing your labor here, DON'T. They will leave you alone literally. Worst experience of my life, so much attitude for no reason. If people are only in it for the money why join the medical field? not sure how the county still has the hospital up. The only thing good was the NICU, the nurses were great and kind, but besides that I would never recommend to do your labor here, RUN! go somewhere else where they'll give you the treatment you deserve. read more

I checked my self in for active bleeding and left the hospital with active bleeding. Dr khan E.R doctor is a lazy person. Hospital staff would not provide any information we wanted. Doctor are running around like chickens with no heads and nurses are barely keeping up. I had a blood transfusion and my night nurse was inexperienced which made me check my self out due to starvation and sleep deprivation (16hrs) with no sleep and anemia blood count at 6.2. Very very frustrating and uncomfortable. read more
