I am extremely disappointed with the care I received at Barosum Dental in Upland. My experience left me feeling unheard, misdiagnosed, and ultimately traumatized. While I was out of town on July 12, 2026, I developed severe pain on the lower right side of my mouth. As soon as I returned, I scheduled an emergency appointment for July 15. I also had a previously scheduled deep cleaning appointment for July 16. During my emergency visit, the female dentist appeared to minimize my concerns. Instead of focusing on the area where I was experiencing pain, she asked whether I had seen an endodontist for a referral from a year earlier and questioned a shadow in my gums that had existed for over 30 years on the opposite side of my mouth. I requested X-rays, and a 360-degree scan was performed. After reviewing the images, she told me everything looked fine, that I had no cavities, gave me Sensodyne toothpaste for tooth sensitivity, and said I was cleared to proceed with my deep cleaning the following day. Later that same day, the office coordinator called and told me they wanted me to see the endodontist before my cleaning. I went to the appointment, and within five minutes the endodontist identified a cavity. My primary dentist confirmed the finding and recommended that my wisdom tooth be extracted. I was extremely upset that my condition had been missed during my emergency visit. I asked to speak with the female dentist who had evaluated me, but she was unavailable. I scheduled the extraction for July 17, 2026. Because I had previously had a successful experience using nitrous oxide during another tooth extraction, I requested it again to help manage my anxiety. I was numbed for the procedure and was told I was receiving nitrous oxide, but I never felt its effects. I noticed the dental assistant was on the phone for much of the procedure, and it appeared that no one ensured the nasal cannula was properly positioned. I informed both the oral surgeon and the assistant that I did not feel like I was receiving the nitrous oxide, but my concerns were dismissed. I remained anxious throughout the procedure, and the extraction was ultimately unsuccessful. I left the office emotional, traumatized, and deeply disappointed. This was the worst dental experience I have ever had. As healthcare providers, listening to patients is essential. I repeatedly expressed my concerns and felt they were ignored every step of the way. I will not be returning to this office. I also plan to verify that my insurance was not billed for procedures that were not completed, including the deep cleaning and the unsuccessful tooth extraction. I hope this review encourages the office to improve communication, patient care, and attention to patient concerns so that others do not have a similar experience. read more

I recently moved to the area and have been calling around trying to find a new dentist. Since this office had some of the best reviews nearby, I figured it would be a great place to start. Unfortunately, the phone call left me feeling pretty unwelcome. I explained that I was a new patient looking to make an appointment, and the first thing the front desk lady seemed concerned about was whether I had an HMO or PPO. It honestly felt like if I had said HMO, she would have just hung up on me. Once I told her I had a PPO, she started taking my information, but the whole interaction still felt like she was doing me a favor rather than welcoming a new patient. She explained that the Dr is only available at certain times and that I would need to work around that schedule, which I completely understand. The schedule itself wasn't the issue at all. It was more the tone of the conversation and the feeling that they didn't really want my business. I ended up calling Smile Studios instead and the experience was completely different. They were warm, helpful and made me feel welcomed right away. Plus they took me in same day. read more

If you are all about the money THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU! It looks like a Hotel in Las Vegas when you walk in, except theres no showgirls. Theres fancy tables, long hallways, high tech equipment, and very expensive dental plans they even have a financing center with about 5-6 women at desks patiently waiting for you to come pick up your treatment plan and start financing. There's TV's everywhere and the staff is ok, but they really treat you as if you have money. If you do not then they rush you out the door. I never received a call from Mr. Barsoum he must of been away on his yacht. They did not take my insurance and i needed a bridge. They gave me 3 options a bridge, a partial or a retainer with a tooth on it. Or Implant , which started at $15,000 PER TOOTH! Holy Hell never would i pay that! I left feeling like a low life piece of nothing and was treated as such. This dental practice is OVER RATED, and you need at least 6 figures or a TESLA to walk in here. read more

Been a long time patient of Barsoum since the 9th street location. Missed a few appts due to my wife's health and it took forever to get in for my cleaning . I was disappointed to see the gentleman at front desk who was a veteran gone along with the other gal who always knew my name . I was asked my last name and if I have an appointment? Seems customer service has definitely gone down not sure if management changed or what. As i get older I find that I like to feel welcome but this visit recently lacked smiles and just was not the same as my visit last year . My son is a patient along with his wife but they also felt the same at their visit not sure what's going on or if we will stay but miss the old quality of care. read more

I have now been to this dental location for a year now. The first experience was with a specialist, Dr. John, to address my gum issues. He was extremely thorough, knowledgeable, and professional. He was able to treat my gum issues as conservatively as possible and reassured me that everything was going to be OK. I decided to begin my dental care after the experience with him. The hygienist I see wear's a Green Bay Packer's cap and she is a gem. I now request to be on her schedule every time. My dentist is also great. She doesn't upsell me on anything and is very gentle. My experience today was AMAZING! I made a appt for a teeth cleaning and a assessment of a loose crown. The day before the appoint ment the Dr himself called me to ask if I was having any pain and to ask a few questions about my needs. The day of the appointment I was given a fulll set of X-rays, Dr. Barsoum was very kind and thoughtful in his approach. He clearly explained what my needs were based on his examination. It turned out I have 2 crowns that need replacement he showed me on the x-rays exactly what was going on and why the work really needed to be done and He recommended a partial deep cleaning as well . I was so impressed with his bedside manner and humble kind nature. He answered all my questions taking his time to ensure I understood everything. The Dr had time so he did a general cleaning of my teeth that day. The dental hygienist was absolutely fabulous and the front office staff was so patient and so kind. The billing manager took time to explain to me my estimate and the various costs involved. We also discussed different credit options that she knew about. I will be going back to this Dental Office to get my crowns taken care of as soon as I'm able to raise the funds, but the office is so clean, bright and tension free. The doorways are wide enough that it easily handled my electric wheelchair. I highly recommend this Office to anyone that is looking for a high-quality Dentist Office. i came to this dental office because I had heard good things about them, but my experience was very disappointing in terms of communication and organization. I originally scheduled a cleaning (which i made pretty clear that's what my appointment was for) and also wanted my wisdom tooth checked since it was hurting. When I arrived, I was told they would not be doing a cleaning that day and that I would need a separate appointment so they only examined my wisdom tooth and recommended removal. After that, I was told to wait in the lobby so someone could explain the next steps for surgery. I waited around 40 minutes, and I was very patient and made it clear I was still waiting. Someone eventually came up, realized I had been waiting, and had another staff member speak with me. Even then, I waited another 10-15 minutes. When I was finally seen, the explanation was very quick (less than 5 minutes) and I did not receive any real information about how to prepare for surgery or what to expect. The staff member also seemed rushed and uninterested. On the day of surgery, I was told I had a copay of over $175 without being informed beforehand. I also explained the lack of communication from the previous visit, but it felt like that concern was ignored. I was not given any prior call or clear preparation instructions. Additionally, my medication was sent to a pharmacy I had already asked them not to use for the second time. The only positive part of my experience was the surgeon and surgical assistant, who were kind and professional during the procedure itself. Otherwise, the communication and organization leading up to it could definitely be improved. read more

I selected this practice based on its strong reputation and was satisfied with the dentist's clinical care. Unfortunately, the office failed to submit a required pre-authorization to my insurance and charged me out of pocket. After the error was identified and a refund was issued, I was dismissed as a patient. Being dismissed following an administrative mistake made by the office was disappointing and concerning. Patients should be aware and confirm that insurance pre-authorizations are properly handled in advance. I hope the practice reviews and improves its office management procedures. read more

I recently had to have an unexpected root canal. I went into the office in pain without an appointment, and the staff (Annett and Faith) were wonderful. They fit me in to see Dr. Wissa who took care of the pain immediately and as always checked on me that evening. On the second visit, I saw Endodontist Dr. Maash for the root canal who was great. Dr. Barsoum is incredibly kind and patient. He takes the time to introduce himself to every one of his patients and his staff are just as kind, welcoming and knowledgeable. They provide excellent quality care in every way (and at an affordable price as well!). For me personally, they were able to recommend and provide a mouth guard to help with my jaw tension and popping, which has since helped so much since I last went (about 1-2 years ago now). I still think about the business and owed them a great review. The only reason I stopped going was because I moved away to a father area and it'd be too long of a drive. I've called this office several times and consistently reach voicemail, with a message saying staff are busy or away from their desk. If the office is open, I would expect calls to be answered in a timely manner rather than having to leave a message and wait for a callback. I was told they tried to call on the 16th - looked in my phone and no calls from their office on the 16th. I was upset and left. My wife then called to complain as i was pissed and I wasted a vacation day from work and they told her they called on the 17th.again I checked my phone and no calls from then on the 17th. Will never go to this dishonest dental practice again. This dentist is a complete waste of time. I showed up for my scheduled appointment only to be handed a paper saying I was only getting an exam and X-rays, and that I'd need to come back another day just for a basic cleaning. I was completely taken aback. No dentist I've ever been to splits up appointments like this -- it's ridiculous, inconvenient, and feels like a scam to get more visits out of you. To make it worse, the office manager is incredibly rude and condescending. The only reason I even gave this place a chance was because my husband highly recommended them. Ironically, this same office manager was able to sign off on his Invisalign exam in one visit, but somehow I couldn't even get a standard cleaning done at mine. Although we have moved out the area now and live an hour away we still drive out here to Dr Barsoum"s office. We love our dental hygienist Kim and she's the only person we see for our cleaning. Kim is very thorough and takes her time with our cleaning she explains everything. Well, I've got great news for you: Your search is over! Dr. Andrew Lee is exactly who you're looking for. I went to Dr. Lee because my teeth started shifting. I know, crazy, right? Here's the story: Years ago, I had Invisalign treatment in another city. After finishing, I stopped wearing the aligners (big mistake!). As a result, my teeth moved, and I ended up with a small gap that trapped food when I ate. It got bad enough that I knew I had to do something about it. I started searching for an orthodontist and quickly realized that finding one who met my criteria wasn't easy. After visiting four different offices, I was relieved to find Dr. Lee. The main reason I chose him was that he didn't push for unnecessary full treatments like the others did (because I didn't need them). Now that my treatment is finished, I'm so glad I went with Dr. Lee. Not only did I save a ton of money, but I also found an orthodontist I can recommend to all my friends and family--and to you too! Dr. Lee is honest, highly skilled, and genuinely kind. His fees are reasonable, but what really made it affordable for me was that he only did what was necessary--not a penny more. So if you need an orthodontist for yourself, your child, or someone you know, definitely give his office a call. You won't regret it! read more

just want to start by saying this is hands down the best dental office I've ever been to. From the very beginning, Dr. Karim called me personally before my appointment, which already made me feel at ease. When I came in, he was just as genuine in person and really took the time to go over my fears (I have a terrible gag reflex) and walked me through what to expect. After Patty helped me get through my X-rays (which she made SO much easier than I expected), Dr. Karim sat down with me and went over a full game plan for my treatment -- super helpful and made me feel in control of everything. Patty was a lifesaver with those X-rays, honestly the most understanding and patient assistant I've ever had. When it came time for my procedure, Dr. James Habashy, the oral surgeon, was amazing. He really listened to my concerns about my gag reflex and made sure I was as comfortable as possible the whole time. I also had a cleaning (can't remember my hygienist's name, but she was awesome too!) and she was super gentle and thorough. All in all, the staff here is beyond friendly, caring, and really go the extra mile to make sure you're comfortable. I've had some pretty bad dental experiences in the past, and this office completely changed how I feel about going to the dentist. It's safe to say this will be my new dental office moving forward, I understand now why they're so highly rated. read more
