Great location and normally a good crowd at night. That is saying a lot for a coffee shop. But this is not your dads coffee shop. They have live music most nights and with that comes a good following. During the school year you will see a lot of Lee University students hanging out. They have a good selection of coffee and freeze drinks too. If your in the area and want a change from the regular Starbucks type coffee shops you should stop into this place. read more

Great coffee shop in the middle of town. They have very reasonable prices too, You can get coffee for $1 here with free refills. I got the special of Jamaican Me Crazy flavor. It was very flavorful and different. Lots of students come and sit around with their IPhones, IPads and laptops. They do have TVs here but they were off when I visited for some reason. They had a speaker set up with 4 mikes. So, I guess they have somebody that comes here to sing every now and then. This is a late coffee shop only open daily from 2:30 pm to 10:30pm. If you have ever moved away from a city then gone back to visit, you usually find at least one new place has opened since you've left. And when that place is amazing, you wonder why they didn't open while you still lived there. Such is the case with Inman Street Coffeehouse. When I moved from Cleveland, TN 8 years ago there was no local coffee shop. Now there is a great one, with a great purpose I would already be in favor of supporting this place because it is local and a branch of the Salvation Army, but thankfully I can testify to the quality of its product and location as well. The place is the perfect spot for anyone visiting downtown Cleveland or at Lee University and easy to stop in at on the way to work or at lunch. I went there meeting up with friends and I just had to try the cold-brew. The barista was quite knowledge of the beans used, which makes me more at ease with the process. It was delicious! Of course I didn't want to mess with perfection so I didn't add anything, but there are various sweeteners and creamers available. The common space is a cozy size and offers individual and small group seating. Though it was not in use while I was there, I do know there is a larger space for concerts and such. The atmosphere was relaxing and made me wish it had come about years ago. Before I left, I just had to try a pour over. So back up to the counter I went. There were a few selections of beans, in the various roasts, and I went with a dark roast (Sumatra). As I drove away, I savored every whiff and sip of that delicious (yes, unadulterated) cup of coffee. If you are in town or just nearby, go. Inman Street Coffeehouse is something that has been badly needed in Cleveland for a while now. Along with great coffee, super friendly baristas, and late hours, this is an ideal place for studying or getting things done. Not located far from Starbucks, the coffeehouse provides an excellent alternative to the vile over-roasted beans of the large chain. They have several good coffees, among those my favorites: Velvet Hammer, Black Gold (most frequent drip out), and their Nicaraguan Matagalpa is quite fantastic as well. I'm not much of a mixed coffee drinker, but from what I hear, the Black Tie Affair is among the best. I also got the opportunity to sample a Pumpkin Latte, which was equivalent to pumpkin pie in liquid form with a hint of coffee, which I actually found very tasty. One thing I have ordered several times is their Nicaraguan French Press, in which they add a bit of honey to make for a really great press. Okay, I qualify this as an edgey alternative-type coffee shop. The kind where you come to study and cram before finals. Not a boutique-y kind of coffee shop. Don't bother with the frou-frou drinks just hit -me- up- with- espresso- before- the- test- tomorrow kind of place. I like the chalkboard tables and my cuban coffee was alright. I mean they do have fancy drinks and all. But although the dim windows make for a good view of the poetry slam, it gives the space a dark and dusty vibe. I'm a little biased and I may be a little addicted but this is the best coffee place in town. Their coffee is direct trade and roasted to perfection. They have a great variety of drip coffees as well as pour-overs. They also can make a latte anyway you want it. I really love this place for the few times I've been. It's really cozy, and I feel like the baristas really care about what they are doing and about the customers/regulars that come in. The prices are great, especially if you go with one of the daily specials. Sometimes, it can get a little loud and/or you can easily hear what's going on at the tables around you - not always the best place if you need to read... but great for group projects or coffee with a friend. Was looking for someplace in Cleveland to do a little work before I met up with some peeps for Taco Tuesday. This place caught my eye and I pulled in. It looks like your typical college hangout coffee house. Couches, mismatched chairs and tables scattered around. Lots of local college kids, I assume from Lee University, hanging out. There are lots of board and card games lying around, just waiting to be played. As a matter of fact, a group sat at the table next to me and started playing one of my all-time fav card games, Skipbo. Oh back in the day I was the Skipbo Queen! But I digress. It was kind of warm out so I knew I didn't want a hot coffee and I saw on their menu board they had "freezes" so i figured I'd get one of those. There were a few options but nothing grabbed my attention until I saw the Nutella Freeze. WHAT?!?!? I must have it. A very friendly barista took my order, asking if I wanted whip cream on it, of course I did! Then asked if I wanted the chocolate drizzle? Well if I'm gonna blow my calories on this thing I might as well go all out, right? So, YES, chocolate drizzle. I waited just a bit and said kind barista didn't call out my name, but instead brought the frozen delight to me. Nice! I picked a little round table that was covered in chalkboard paint (like several other of tables), nice touch BTW, pulled out my laptop and went to be all work-like when I took my first sip of my Nutella Freeze. HOLY COW! Stop the presses! Man, this thing was so yummy. Chocolatey and nutty and creamy and decadent. Wow. Forgive the corny expression, but my mouth took a trip to flavor town. This is a cool little spot that appears to be affiliated with the Salvation Army. Cool. The Salvation Army is getting into the hipster vibe. If you're nearby, go and get one of these freezes. I really want to like this place. The trick is that they just have way too many options to be good at any of them and their drink quality is radically inconsistent. On more than 2 occasions, I've had a French Press steep behind the bar for 15+ minutes. They also have way too many televisions to create a relaxing coffee shop atmosphere. Ditch the TVs, slim down the drink menu to your best offerings, and make sure your staff knows how to operate the store/bar (I believe the staff is all volunteer. If so, this last bit may be impossible to completely fix). read more
