Inn at Lebanon
Where do I begin? My colleague and I were in town for a 3 day conference and this was the closest hotel to the venue. While it didn't scream "luxury" we were at least expecting clean accommodations at that price point.
The first night we were exhausted and didn't do much other than unload our multiple bags and plan for bed. We were surprised by the dank smell of the lobby and room but decided that could be overlooked. Right before bed, we saw a very large house centipede on the ceiling. See photo. I know they are harmless so wasn't too alarmed, in fact, I caught him and placed him in the stairwell where he may find more food sources (or so I thought- turns out his meal ticket was IN our room). Sleep was difficult still however because of strange noises from rooms in our hallway and the thick smell of marijuana.
On the second night, I wanted to shower after a day long conference but was sad to find the water was barely above lukewarm. I had washed my hair and wanted to blow it dry since I was then very cold from a lukewarm shower. The wall mounted hair dryer was a great idea, except there was no power source in the bathroom...at all. See photo. I went down to the front desk and was told the hot water issue was likely because everyone was showering at once. Okay... so the water heater isn't the correct capacity for the hotel? Got it. He then told me the outlet is next to the dryer, as if I could not correctly identify what a power outlet looks like. Gaslighting. Got it.
Upon settling into bed, we found what was identified as a roach on the wall above the bed. see photo. It scurried behind the picture hanging above the bed. Sleep didn't occur so well again, due to thoughts of critters and more loud neighbors.
My colleague showered the following morning only to find the water was lukewarm, at best, again. We had to rush to our class but stopped by the front desk when we got back. He asked if we were turning the hot water knob ALL the way over. As if 2 adult women don't know how to work water spigots. We were offered to change rooms. Like bugs don't travel and as if there is a separate water heater for each room. He then said he would call maintenance to come up and have a look. An hour and no maintenance man later, I checked back in with the front desk. He initially said maintenance was "en route" but then called up to our room to ask if we could again try the hot water because he didn't think the maintenance guy was coming after all because he wasn't "answering the phone". I'm confused to whether anyone spoke with maintenance at all at any point? I tried the water, this time it was really warm but certainly not hot.
Upon checkout, the manager continued the theme of no help, responsibility, or resolution. First she said no other guests complained about the hot water issue. I asked if they had showered? She had no answer. We asked if there are different hot water supplies for each room. Knowing how ridiculous her response was, she reverted back to having given us "so many options". She kept saying they offered to move our room... again, that does not solve the hot water issue nor the bug issue. She declined any sort of refund and kept saying they gave "so many options". The absolute lack of accountability and gaslighting is top level. The clear inability to listen to guests and refuse to take any accountability is truly the antithesis of any customer service at all. read more
